In other words, I have a degree in Political Science and will probably be in Peace Corps this time next year. There are things that are worth my negativity. There are things that are worth my angst. But a game? No way, I will blindly enjoy that thank you. And I certainly won't throw a moody like I am 8 years old. Because only children should be allowed to get upset over these things. I mean, it is everything in their world. However, for adults like you and me... Well if you are getting this upset, maybe you should stop playing and go to bed.

I am sick to horror of these sticky release dates that a few sticky months down the track end up sticky. Then we get another sticky delay.. Just.. how hard can it sticky be to release the sticky game. Oh my stick gosh.. I'm so pissed off at the moment. They've already said the new date is THIS holiday season. Therefore, that locks the "10" in "2010".

basically... if they are trying to make fw 3.50 and above unbreakable, it is close to impossible. its like saying hackers e.g. Geohot doesn't exist. there is bound to be hackers that plan to hack the system. its not like you haven't learnt anything from the 2 previous consoles.

my pet peeve is that everyone is comparing this delay to frakking "Duke Nukem Forever" when AFAICR, DNF never released a demo or any working version at game shows for people to try out....ok, rant off...

I have been a few days away from this forum....and BANG -> GT5 delayed...
Is PD, Sony kidding or what???
How they dare???
I always have understanding for delays...this happens in my job too...but in this case theay all have annonced it so fix...and if you do so...you should have kind of buffer (in days) to prevent delays... here only "act of god" or "act of nature" would count... like when the dvd factory is destroyed by lightning or flooding or so...
I guess I am gonna puke no, cancel my pre order and then go for all the bloody bastards... those damn money_scoop_up-people_diss-I_don't_care_f&/$$ing_crack_bitches!!!

Sorry for being so impolite.... but nobody can really tell me that the delay is "not" done under financial purpose!!!!

Right now there many different reasons going round for the delay, who really knows. In two weeks we will get a new release date.

A side note you might want to update your avatar. :)
 
It's kinda annoying how different reasons for the delay are being tossed around. There should be a straight forward reasoning from the beginning.

Oh well, we are all human, so we all make mistakes.

I have no clue but all game developers do it with their videos. The car sounds are always dubbed over. I am used to it by now so I never get my hopes up with car sounds in car game video trailers.

For instance watch the new MCClarren video posted a few days ago. That car sounded nothing like the real thing.

They also dubbed the sounds in the Prologue video trailer. Some people thought the car sounds were going to be the same as the trailers car sounds and were disapointed when they played the game.

That's why we won't know the new date til the end of October. They need a couple of weeks to come up with a delay reason that will hurt us and them the least.

Exactly. While it's bad to outright lie (lest you be caught up in it) there are a lot of "honest" answers. For instance when you see the ban waves on Xbox, we know MS is fighting piracy, but they always want to say they are protecting your online gaming experience. While technically it's true, realistically the amount of protectiong your online epxerience receives is virtually none.

They saw the video and then realizes that the sounds coming from the tires are not EVEN CLOSE to PERFECTNESS. Then, we´ll have to wait another 2 years, perhaps more.

Well, looks like they won´t better the sound quality, then, Polyphony will ship a game with a very poor sound quality.

Kaz, if you want Perfection, start from the SOUND department, then, after this is being perfected, you can improve your FANTASTIC DAMAGE engine. It´s already a BENCHMARk of what a Damage System musn´t be!

The sound may be dubbed, but the visuals were awesome!

GTR cockpit looks so real. And I hope that aircraft hanger is one of the photo locations - beautiful idea.

If there is one thing that turbo kai says that makes a lot of sense is the fact how come there is no buffer for PD to get the game gold. I mean 3 days, that is rediculously close. I mean for a project of this magnitude and length, you would think there would be atleast a couple week buffer for PD to get the game done. On the flip side, it could be possible PD missed the buffer all together.
