GT5 delayed

This is exactly how I see it as well. They work like lackadaisical artist (relying on their talent) who aren't really in the real world when it comes to time constraints, thanks to their product which carries so much hype behind it.

On another note - I wouldn't even call Kaz much of an artist though as the vision for GT5 (and the GT series in general) is quite simple, and the way anyone should go about making a proper racing game (for the most part) if they have the resources (which is the most important thing - BTW PD needs MORE developers for christ sakes). Now IMO, the real skills involves the modeling of all the cars, tracks, physics, and such (as it is quite beyond me as to how the developers manage to do such things with the software). I'm not sure what involvement Kaz has in all of this, other than being the visionary (which I'm not that impressed by) though.

The only positive credit I can give is an A to Kaz for ambition, and sincerity in the vision of a game to be over the top.

I believe in the process though, he fell under the spell of the PS3's powers and lost complete sight of the line that should have been drawn between GT5 and GT6.

I believe the big guy acts as a Director now. Nah, I don't really think of Kaz as an artist, but he does seem to work with the same level of passion, personal involvement, and paranoid secrecy :P

But how will you feel if it gets poor reviews ?

I couldnt care less about reviews, I make my own mind up on games. Halo for example never fails to get 10/10 or there abouts, but they've been getting worse since the first.

Were there ever huge bugs in a GT game? I mean bugs or glitches comparable to those in F1 2010 e. g.? (I can only think of the one erasing your garage in GT2)

That amount of blind faith is pretty justified looking at the series history IMO. Of course it won't be perfect but without a doubt it'll become the best racing game available on PS3 and likely the best up to date on all platforms.

Perhaps KY is intending to release a game thats totally ready. People are often saying that they'd prefer a longer wait to a game patch (F1 2010 anyone), so lets look at it that way. It would make a refreshing change to recieve a game thats ready.

In TGS they said that GT6 already started.
So why dont they finish gt5 first instead of beginning something without finishing the other

Oh man that garage bug in GT2 was a real fun one...especially when it happens to you 3 times.

GT5 is finished, they just had to make it compatible with SDK 350.

Since the game is on delay! Kaz himself should post a video playing it, showing us how new customization works in game. We all know there will be pretty graphics, many tracks, etc.. how about showing us how customization works now in game.

Apparently, that must be a difficult and lengthy process.

Why would you say that? All they have to do is apply it and test (I'd say the testing would cost the most time). I think the delay came because they didn't realise until it was too late they they had to publish on 350.

No it isn't ... its just that the line of production is full of other releases.... and they have missed their slot ... so they will be after COD.BO and NFS .... maybe end of November???? just wait and see .... KY will make the true fans of the series happy:dopey:
all blu-ray discs(games, films) is manufactured in Sony factories?
Yep

Because, if it was simple and predictable, we would already have a new release date, likely before the end of the year and Soony wouldn't be saying 2010 looks doubtful. Thats why.

Not really, just if the order came late and they miss the deadline a bit, they also miss the slots for production, and they can´t just wait a couple of days not doing anything so they go ahead with other orders then reslot GT5 and unfortunatly it´s not so easy to do.

Yes mistakes have been made on alot of levels on this but it is what it is and aslong as the new date isn´t to far off the old one it could be credible, now if it moves into 2011 it´s another story for me, but until then i´ll have to take their word for it.

Edit: Also agree with Zod where is the official source on that claim!?

There is none, Sony never said anything like that. Either they said "holiday season" or "2010" ...they want it out and they'll do anything to make it happen this year.

"We may have to wait until 2011" = "It looks doubtful we'll get it in 2010", right? Quite similar comments, surely. And yeah, it does seem to be a sourceless source at this stage. The official word is "Definitely before Xmas"

Just trying to soften the blow before it's official.

There's obviously a possibility that it won't make it this year due to the fact that they don't have a date for it right now. But they've made it very clear that they're doing everything they can to get it out before the end of this year. It seems to all ride on whether or not they can get the discs pressed in time as the game is done.

How did you turn "may have to wait" into "doubtful"? There's a massive difference between those two comments.

All in how you want to look at it, I guess.

I refer back to this comment:

If its that simple, why didn't Soony give us a new release date?

BTW thats the only thing that isn't rumor, at this point, one can seriously consider.

Like I said, it seems to be about them getting a new time to press the discs. So they can't give a new date because they don't know when they'll be able to get that new slot. But we should have a new date before the end of this month according to SCEE.

I thinking he didn't realize Nov 2nd was an election day in the states and once he found out he pushes the date back to promote voter turnout. What a swell guy!!! Thanks kaz!!! *waves happily*
