GT5 delayed

It's not "pathetic" that people are upset that SONY or Polyphony haven't followed through yet again. Yes, they didn't say they were definitely going to tell us, but I'm not even the slightest bit surprised they didn't tell us. I actually expected it. It's fair enough for GT's hyper loyal fans to be annoyed at the pathetic, pathetic communication we've all had to deal with. And you'd think the guys could at least release some new screenshots or videos that actually tell us about the game to appease the fans, but no. It's just silence and mystery. More silence and mystery.

So anyway, stop getting mad at the people who are upset. They absolutely have a right to be upset. You have a right to not be upset, but don't act like you're so superior to the people who are starting to lose their patience after 5 years.
👍 👍 👍

I am going to call my Gamestop today, and ask them what they have heard about the new release date since the delay, just to see what they say. I hope their response is "well, we thought it was delayed, but we have a stockroom full of GT5 copies, so I guess you can get your pre-order tomorrow!!"

^ that's not going to happen, but I have a pretty good feeling that they will announce the release date at SEMA. From the looks of it, they are going to have a pretty big blowout at SEMA. They said that they will have a couple surprise bands (MCR?), and have GT5 playable with all the previous GT SEMA winners available to play. Does that mean that the winners that were in GT4 are now premium, or could we possibly get the first glance at standards in gameplay?

Try to imagine:

-->> Tomorrow SONY says: Surprise! we weren't delayed ! .... November's fool!:ill:

:yuck::ouch:that would be a sick joke.....

That would be awesome!

GT5 TOMORROW!! I've been having a horrible month/weeks/days and this will fix everything!!! I'm so happy!:grumpy:

As nice as that may be its impossible. If it was a joke and it was relaseing tomorrow, the games would have to already be at the stores and someone would have heard about it by now.

someone must know someone who works at a store with games and can confirm whether or not they have GT5 copies today...

if the game isn't released by "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!" I say we throw in the towel and get our money back.

Sony lists release dates for this game like they're just a joke and when the date nears and they cancel, we get pissed off and they laugh their asses off.

Sony lists release dates for this game like they just don't mean a damn thing.

I say we deal with it like the civil adults we are and go about our lives.

Canceling a preorder doesn't mean jack squat to PD. They know their demand, they're still working on the game, and nothing's gonna change that.

don't mind me alright? One day I don't care that it's not coming out, and the next I get really upset about it.

They are? That's not what we were told.

I am really thinking of buying "Heavy Rain" to bridge the time until the release...
Anyone else acting the same way? I mean buying another game for the waiting period...

I've been buying games to bridge the gap for 3 years. A few more months Isn't going to kill me.
When It hits the shelf It will hit the shelf you can't rush perfection & I'm sure nobody will be disappointed with the end result.
They haven't failed us yet with previous editions of the GT range.

Your right there Dave, but who knows.
After they missed their 3 day window maybe Kaz said why don't we do some more polishing.

Personally I think it's not finished but that's just my opinion.
If it comes out next march it's safe to assume it wasn't finished in time.

Really hope I'm wrong.

Well in effect they are still working on the game even if the master has been completed and sent off to production. There is to be at least one additional car added that has not yet been decided and Kaz has mentioned ongoing work that will likely turn into GT6.

Something like this is never truly done. You just get it to a point where you have a release version and then continue to develop it resulting in possible updates and at some point a new version.

btw What's with the oversized Pic above. It forced scroll bars even at 19200 res. That is a big large don't you think?

The new release date will tell us a lot about what has happened. If the release date is soon, then it's Jailbreak, missed 3 day window, etc., if it's pushed into next year, then this would indicate that PD was still working on the game to the last minute and still wasn't finished.

Retailers having to shell out tens or hundreds of thousands in refunds will certainly make its way back to Sony and PD.

But that won't happen

With attitude's like that it won't.

If they announce a 2011 release date, I will confirm it with multiple sources, then my first action will be to call Best Buy and get a refund of the $100 I put down for the Collector's Edition. If 10 other people do the same, that's $1000.

Or Sony decided/needed to work out more licensing/marketing deals, like with the Schick promotion, tie-ins with Red Bull, one of the auto companies, nearly anything, really.

That won't clear any room on the disc manufacturing schedule for Gran Turismo 5 though.

Damn it, we were supposed to get the game in the next few days. 🤬

But regarding this, I know we've had reliable sources indicating a BD production issue (and a delay due to the new firmware), but if Sony really feels GT5 is their "flagship" PS3 game, then why wouldn't they do everything they can to juggle other releases around to accommodate this release? So, back to what you were referring to, I also agree that it's more tinkering.

This is just ridiculous. With 2 months left in 2010 and still no RD, I think we're looking at 2011. What's the closest we've had with respect to announcing a RD and the actual RD? Right now, we're looking at less than 2 months and counting.

I really hope I'm wrong though.
