Hey don't be upset guys, atleast they gave us the new release date before the end of October like they promised!
They didn't say the year... October 2015 maybe?

I am contemplating on canceling my CE preorder and just getting a standard version the day it comes out (whenever that is). It's sad how big they made the release date announcement only to miss it without a single reason as to why. All we have are rumors from sources of why and all of them are no reason to miss the date. Handing final code 3 days late means it wasn't finished on time, BD production issues from the biggest player in BD manufacturing doesn't sound right to me, PD should have known long time ago it was to be FW3.5 compliant so another BS excuse but the biggest one for me was the absolute lack of advertising for Sony's biggest franchise even just 2-3 weks prior to the initial launch date. That last one alone tells me the game wasn't ready and being Nov 1st... Still without a date, reason, etc... I got this funny feeling they are still working on it and it'll be out 2011.
Fans of the franchise need to stop defending and spinning things. You are the biggest fans with the biggest voices. Had you put your foot down, maybe Sony/PD would have budged faster instead of playing the guessing game. I just want GT5, one of the main reasons why I got my PS3 years ago and I'm still waiting.

I'm EXTREMELY dissapointed now. In ~6 hours some stores should have been selling GT5 and tomorrow everyone should have had their copy. (or almost)
But here we are, with no release date in sight, and we don't even know if the game will be out this year.
As much as I respect Kaz and his work (and the whole PD team, they're not as big as other companies) I'm starting to worry if something has gone wrong, or if the game even was/is finished for production or going gold. The fact that they keep us in the dark like this makes me believe it's the later.
2010 was supposed to be Sonys big year, but every ****ing game gets postponed or delayed.
Incredibly dissapointed with Sony and ofcourse the silence from PD.
Edit: The fact that they get everyone hyped with the Nov release pisses me the hell off. Keep your ****ing mouth shut and don't give false hope if you're not even sure if you'll make the deadline.

I must say, the initial anger and disgust i felt when we first found out about the delay faded over the last few weeks. But today, the Eve of the old release date, it's all coming back. We were suppose to have GT5 tomorrow, instead, we have no idea when it will be in our hands... and we have no explanation for why it was delayed.
It's bad business.

i dont know about you guys, but even if they release all those games this months or the next, i no longer consider 2010 as Sony's year.
Forget it... how can you own a whole year for just barely 2 months ??

Who cares about 3D tV, i honestly dont care about it... and Sony TV way too overprized/over priced for my taste now... I am happy with Samsung.

thats ok, better then persuading me to buy a hd system to properly enjoy the rant, then delaying the rant, making me wait for an announcement about the new date, then not showing up with new info, delaying that again and keep acting like that for years and years.

And another thing... at least give us a damn reason. If Kaz-san wants to further perfect the game, fine. If it was a production issue, fine. If Sony made a scheduling mistake on their BD production facilities, fine. At least give us a reason... something! Instead, we're all left in the dark speculating the hell out of it.

Sorry, but the recent news show that Sony will have one of the most profitable year since years... this year they will sell 15 millions of PS3, 8 millions of PSP and 6 millions of PS2... and more... 115.6 millions of PS3 games, 44.4 millions of PSP games and 35.7 millions of PS2 games...
I agree with you that this kind of situation are not good for a company... but Sony is too big to get shake for a delay of "only" a game... even if this game is GT5...

Or scenario # 2. They tell you what went wrong and everyone moans because they couldn't possibly understand why the delay existed. No matter what the reason, it would be criticised. There's a reason why PD has minimal PR channels.

^^ Yeah , but I think more people are complaining about the lack of feedback , then they would when they just given us a reason why. How stupid the reason will be , people will be less pissed then the situation we are now in. It really does sucks.

First it was: "sorry for the delay, but Kaz and the team are working hard to ensure they bring you the best GT gaming experience possible. We hope to have a release date out by the end of this month (October)" or something along those lines. No later than a day or two passes and then we hear about this Blu-Ray issue and the game being 3 days late to gold from the Sony chairman, which is then followed up with another contradicting finding on Kaz' twitter saying they are working hard to finalize some of the games' more complicated systems. In the end we really don't know what to believe as Sony hasn't done much to stick to 1 believable story.
To defend Sony/PD's integrity and PR is laughable at this point, especially given the lack of communication (which continues, despite all of the commotion due to their continious deception) with GT community in the past 5 years or so leading up to GT5.
