GT5 delayed

What would be the best E-mail address for us to contact to request some info?

I mean, I don't want to spam the inbox @ sony, but if a few hundred of us write polite e-mails asking for some extra info there could possibly be a response sooner rather than later.

First it was: "sorry for the delay, but Kaz and the team are working hard to ensure they bring you the best GT gaming experience possible. We hope to have a release date out by the end of this month (October)" or something along those lines, then no later than a day or two passes and we hear about this Blu-Ray issue and the game being 3 days late to gold from the Sony chairman, and then we find a message on Kaz' twitter saying they are working hard to finalize some of the games' more complicated systems. In the end we really don't know what to believe as Sony hasn't done much to stick to their story.

To defend Sony/PD's integrity and PR is laughable at this point.

I think you'll find there's a difference between defending their "integrity" ("Oh noes, a handful of people are moaning about the game that they are going to buy anyway and are such a tiny portion of the several of millions we're going to sell") and explaining why they have minimal/poor PR channels.

I couldn't agree more with you Sinner... it's better to admit the truth than hide it... people can forgive easier if they are not taken for fools or mislead...

exept when the truth is that its all about the money and the will sell more copies of the new nfs for instance when it is released before gt5. i know i wouldnt have bought a lot of racing games if gt5 had been a ps3 launch title as they made it seem. heres a list of what i might not have bought since it doesnt ad to gt5:
motorstorm 1&2
ferrari challenge tropheo
nfs most wanted
f1 2010
burnout
nfs shift
nfs undercover
midnight club

blur and wipout hd probably would still be in my collection since its dufferent and wipout promised full hd but didnt deliver.

i might have forgotten a title but still this is over 500 euro worth of snack games to have something to race till gt is available.
and weird enough, i'm allready considering to buy the new nfs. test drive unlimited2 was also supposed to be released this month but those guys partied too much and delayed the game as wel. if that didnt happen then every other racing game would have had the opportunity to serve their next gen titles as snacks before gt got on the market.
Coincidence or just very very weird?
I say, they knew gt was not going to be released in the past years but they never told us because they could get more money by fooling us.

I'm thinking the same thing, but as horrible against the fans as they are, there is no good way to contact PD. Sony has little to do with it I think.

I'm EXTREMELY dissapointed now. In ~6 hours some stores should have been selling GT5 and tomorrow everyone should have had their copy. (or almost)

But here we are, with no release date in sight, and we don't even know if the game will be out this year.

As much as I respect Kaz and his work (and the whole PD team, they're not as big as other companies) I'm starting to worry if something has gone wrong, or if the game even was/is finished for production or going gold. The fact that they keep us in the dark like this makes me believe it's the later.

2010 was supposed to be Sonys big year, but every ****ing game gets postponed or delayed.

Incredibly dissapointed with Sony and ofcourse the silence from PD.

Edit: The fact that they get everyone hyped with the Nov release pisses me the hell off. Keep your ****ing mouth shut and don't give false hope if you're not even sure if you'll make the deadline.

Sorry for ranting in my edit, but when I think about this whole mess I get effin pissed :)

We have a THREAD for that.

Sony pays PD to make the game. So Sony has probably more to say about the game then PD. I still don't understand why Sony let them make GT:PSP. It doesn't sell very well and slowed down GT5 progress....

If there isn't a release date by Wednesday, then I think its fair to say we can start getting angry, until then lets stay calm.

What makes Wenesday any different than today? They never said they would give us any news at Sema therefore today is better than any other day.

I'm pretty sure they know people want to know what the situation is. This and other gaming forums are full of posts asking for info and pretty much every news article on the main gaming sites and the Playstation blogs have tens or even hundreds of comments asking demanding a release date...some of them from familiar names ;)

Personally I don't feel that way. IMO, They have poor PR mainly due to their lack of "integrity" - at the end of the day as long as they continue to bring in the profit they set out to achieve, they couldn't care less about giving a straight up, detailed answer with any honest,y nor do they seem to care to keep in touch with the fanbase (which they seemingly have little appreciation for) within reasonable periods of time.

As a GT fan, it is just something we've become accustomed to. Thank god I have other racing games/sims to more than hold me over though and to help minimize my frustrations torward such dishonorable company (which I've given thousands of dollars throughout the years - yet they show little to no appreciation of)

I think because Kaz likes the spotlight. It has been mentioned that a couple of popular surprise bands will be there during the GT portion of SEMA (MCR to sing the intro song?), big lights show, the announcement of this year's winner, and that all previous SEMA GT winners will be playable in GT5 prior to the release. It would be the perfect time to say that it will be released on so and so date, in his eyes, I think, to tell the new release date.

It's funny because people here have the power to make Sony do something, anything. The only thing Sony cares about is $$$ and as long as they have their hand in your wallet with things like pre-orders there is no urgency to do anything. They already have tens of thousands of guaranteed sales.

However if you could get people to cancel a few thousand of those pre-orders over a few day period, I'd bet you'd have some sort of press release from Sony overnight. So really for all the wailing and gnashing of teeth, people have the power to remedy the situation, they just don't have the guts to do it.:)

Personally, I feel you would have to be out of your mind to waste your time (you must have no life) to bother rounding up enough people to influence the situation. For me, I've already been waiting for what seems like a lifetime for GT5...what in the hell is another couple of months at this point in time? Not to mention, at this point in time PD and Sony are probably working their hardest to get the game released as early as possible anyway - in this case, the mistakes (over optimism on the release date, and sluggish development over 6 years) have already been made.

If they put out a 2011 release date, I will be cancelling my pre-order.

It's not like they're going to run off with your money. You're going to spend it on the game anyway, no matter when it releases. So you might as well leave it be.

It sends a message across. Besides, they collect interest on that money, do they not? Wouldn't you rather, since we have no idea how long that'll be?

I agree that Sony would get a shock if suddenly a bunch of pre-orders were cancelled. Whether or not people would still be getting it upon release, it'd at least show that people aren't happy with this same old song and dance.

Not sure if they collect interest. Probably.

I really don't think it'll do much, if anything.

This is ridiculous. I have no school tomorrow because of some elections going around town and just imagine what a perfect day for it to happen with GT5 releasing. I would have went to go get it in the morning, played all day, ect. And now what I am going to do tomorrow? Just sit home and do nothing.

This is ****ing ********.

Not sure if they collect interest. Probably.

They absolutely do.

Heck, collecting interest is why they do mail-in rebates.
They hold on to yours and other peoples' extra $20/$30/$40 for about a month and they make a decent amount of money off of it, then they send the principle back to you.

In the quiet words of the Virgin Mary... come again? Sony is only the publisher. PD is the developer and they decide what the game should be like, and I'm pretty sure they decide when they want to release it as well.

It wasn't Sony's decision to make the PSP game, but I agree it was nothing but a time waster. It's the only GT title I haven't got, though I do have a PSP. That's how intresting it is...
