Has this already been posted? Not as far as I remember.
Not really news, though.

One small thing I noticed compared to past games is that turbo lag (turbo pressure build-up) seems more realisic, working in a logarithmic way.

idk if its just me, but i've never seen Honda NSX or that blue Nissan Skyline in action before. (in gameplays)

Something bothers me a little, in a new IGN article relating to GT5, they say November 4[in NA], even though we've all seen the trailer and other places say November 2[in NA]. Does that possibly mean a delay by a few days? [Really, I hope not, because I'm too anxious for the game. Although, if it's for polishing reasons, then maybe I can understand.]

Probably just a mistake, since all games come out on Tuesdays here in the States. And the 4th is a Thursday.

But thanks for the link to the article though. 👍

That article is the first I have seen to suggest November 4th so I would think the date hasn't changed. Btw. I'm not sure if the guy who wrote the article is mostly negative or positive. His conclusion isn't quite clear.

Not only that look at how the GT5 car dances on the straight vs the FM3 which looks perfectly fine.

Yes sir cant agree more with you. When you guys play GT5 and go on the Nur that will be everyones problem, trying to keep the cars and your vision straight because its so damn bumpy.

👍 People say the GT5 tracks look sterile but atleast they have life to them in regard to the bumps and small elevation changes. Like you mentioned about the Nurb, driving it will feel like going on a roller coaster ride. Trying to tame a high powered car like the Zonda R on it will be a big challenge.

Thats a culmination of different things... Different drivers, Forza's "simplified driving physics", stuff like that
Basically what I was getting at..

Every car on Forza is like that.. :indiff: It's like there is no suspension in the cars, and that they just have a metal rod connecting the wheels to the cars. :yuck:

👍 What I meant above. :dopey:

Man I swear the ENZO is a beast bro I drove it on the Ring today alot. Yes its like a roller coaster bro So damn fun, also the tree shadows mess you up. You combine tree shawdows, bumpy road, cockpit constantly shaking/bumper cam elevation changes I promise you will  That Demo is so damn good, just the driving experience alone will keep you busy trust me i was there for 2hours straight.

I know Forza is not GT, but for anyone to say it's a better game after seeing things like this, they have to be mad. First of all, the interior of the GTR is all wrong in the Forza version. The steering wheel is not circle, the GT5 version has it correct. You can't tell where the hell the silver thing is in the Forza video either, but it's in the GT5 vid. It's a fan to cool the driver. The digital readout on the steeringwheel is absent in the Forza video, as is 6th gear. It never reaches a speed of 300kmh which is easy for those cars to obtain on a straight the size of the Mulsanne. There's just boatloads wrong with the Forza game, the shadows aren't detailed at all. The cabin looks 'stiff', there's no movement to the car, the thing has a feel like it's made of cardboard, like it's a cut-out. There's no questioning that GT5 is the more appealing and more accurate game. Any reviewer who says otherwise is biased or blind.

What immediatly came into mind was if the physics in GT5 would finally allow this :

(piccie snip)

In GT4 on that subaru 360 (correct me if im wrong please) you were able to replicate that but only with extreme ride height and extreme soft/hard setup.

LFS and iracing and other sims recreate that physic really well.

Discussion?

Chris
It depends on what you mean. The 360 specifically? If not, in GT4, I have made just about every car I raced bounce from the track about that much (deleted images) when I got into trouble or got very aggressive in turns.

Did anyone ever have a good theory for the missing #3? I'm guessing that is something related to Super GT, but I wonder why they would hide it. Come to think of it, we haven't heard much about Super GT at all.

Yes this has been brought up before. It could be that stunt arena we heard about, but we'll have to wait and see. F1 is also a possibility.

It's part of the anti-PlayStation conspiracy! Everyone knows IGN is suckling from the Micro$oft teet!

Yea I remember bringing it up before, but it just got lost in the TGS hurricane. Figured it's a good time.

Well, there must be more than 7 I think. They will surely do a Super GT season. And that stunt arena is a very strong possibility, but I still don't want to get my hopes up for F1. Even though that Virgin car is still throwing me for a loop.

It seemed really positive to me. I definitely liked his point that despite all the changes it still feels the same. In other words, it's still Gran Turismo.

What was funny though, is that he said he played at a demo in New York. At first I assumed he was talking about that thing in Times Square, but I guess not. :ouch:

But yes, I thought it was positive too.

Did I miss something? He mentioned grass... on Tokyo R246?

;)

Good short write-up, as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, it was pretty good. He remained pretty neutral on the subject, only critiquing the damage. I will not lie, some part of me wanted a more severe damage engine, or at least a setting along the lines of mild, strong, and simulation where the damage would be its most unforgiving. Issues like that usually work themselves out over time.

Just remember that the demo he played probably isn't the final build. If it has damage, it's probably the Best Buy Build, which is older than the TGS build as it doesn't have any skidmarks. We've yet to see the final build and probably won't until reviews come out or we get our hands on the game itself. For me, I'm gonna wait until I get the game.

Even in terms of damage he wasn't really talking about deformation or mechanical damage, he was just talking about how the camera reacts whenever you make contact with another car or barrier. He wants it to be more like Shift where the camera goes crazy and the color drains from the screen. There's no way that Kaz is going to do stuff like that.

I get it now...that does sound a little over the top for GT. Perhaps an enhanced blur filter? Well, lets just see in a few weeks.

I don't think with a fixed rear camera you would see blurs...you don't feel blurry in a cockpit fixed view, I doubt they'd change it for anything. Plus look at what we've seen. No blurriness.

No, I wasn't saying blur should be implemented in GT, I was suggesting something more toned down instead of the NFS:Shift cams mentioned earlier. I like the GT camera the way it is.

Sorry to hijack a thread, but I can't make a new one because I don't have 100 posts yet >_<

Anyway, how and where would I go about preordering this game? Are there any preorder limited editions left? I hope so because I definitely don't have the money to go looking for that book on eBay - it'll probably be selling for as many dollars as it has pages.

Also, are the SLS AMG, McLaren F1, etc. exclusive to the preorder edition or is that just the special versions? The wording in the June 15th announcement is slightly ambigous.

Need answer quickly - I'm going into town tomorrow and if you have to preorder it at a Gamestop or somewhere I need to know tonight.

Believe it or not I've never preordered anything before.

You can pre-order the collector's edition from Amazon here. Or you can use Gamestop here.

There are 5 cars with special liveries that are part of the Collector's Edition, and then each retailer has a car usually bundled in when you pre-order through them. There are both editions still available in the States for purchase.

I'm finding this thread more intoxicating the closer we get to blast off. . It will soon be time for total media blackout for me :( , as i don't wanna ruin any surprises when i get the game. But for the next few weeks im going to be glued to this place :), once again, great job you lot for all the info and debate :)
