Right, because many racing game struggle to do all of the above.
👎

They don't. Not to PD's detail. For almost every aspect of the items listed, PD is doing it bigger and better.

Example A) Physics: Yes, every game (not just racing games) feature a physics engine. Now, let's just look at racing games. Every single car is using the physics engine while on the track...and that goes for every game. So, your point is still valid. However, PD [supposedly] has a very advanced and high-tech physics engine, which increases the number of calculation points, and increases the number of calculations at each given point. This is using the processing power of the PS3.

Example B) Polygon count: Every 3d video game car is made up of polygons. The more polygons you have, the more realistic your car looks. PD has at the very least doubled the amount of polygons of any other racing game out there in its premium model cars. These polygons have to be accounted for at each and every moment on the track, and then throw in the damage engine that also effects these polygons.

These are two examples, and you can do the same for all the other factors I listed.

The PS3 only has X-amount of power, and every piece factored in takes a change of that availability away.

If PD accepted a game that played at 30 FPS, you'd probably see flawless shadows, but the 60 FPS is its biggest limiting factor beyond the hardware.

I don't know how you can say I'm "wrong" when it's completely opposite.

Most of them come fairly close, GT5 isn't some fantastical second coming of jesus.

Most of them are pretty good, but the detail scale bends on a curve. The more detail you add, the more power you use goes up exponentially.

Also, as far as I know, those racing games run at 30 FPS on consoles unlike PD running GT5 at 60 FPS...that is a HUGE difference.

Ok, now I know for sure. Please take the time to read. Below I am quoting myself, which was a response to your previous post.

Ummm, GT5 will be the only one to do all of that when it comes out. Not saying that everything will be perfect, but I just wanted to insert some truth.

What did you say about Jesus?

The Cell processor is what makes the PS3 better than the 360. A 9 core processor, with 8 available for whatever. However, what made the Cell revolutionary is that each core can be used for a different task. So, you can have one running sound, two running graphics, maybe three running something else or whatever you need. It's probably also what makes the PS3 hard to develop for. It's technology that was brand new at the time. Now, of course, Sony's improved upon the Cell and there are chips with up to 100 cores. It'll be interesting to see what Sony does with the PS4.

PS3 games are not region locked so it should work. Any possible DLC may be region locked though.

Edit: After seeing that pack shot of Prologue, I feel some doubt. However, I have never heard about any region locks for PS3 games.

Thanks for the info. If the game/DLC doesnt work, I'll just buy a standard version over here. Don't really mind not having the stealth pack, just as long as I have the game in hands.

Actually, that's incorrect. The PS3 is what is region-free. Hence the ability to easily change your region simply be creating a new profile. Because of this, Sony lets developers decide if they want their games to be region locked or not. A lot of games have all three major region codes on the disc, but not all.

motorstorm, shift, F1 2010, Dirt, etc.

So how can I get the 787B stealth here in the U.S.?

Well isn't the U.K PAL anyway?
And I've just gone on a forum, most guys there have said that, yes, ps3 games are region free. However, When playing online, you will be playing against people from the country of purchase. So I will probably be using U.K servers?
EDIT: My GT5 prologue from Australia says Region 4 on the back.

Where did you get that from? Peer to peer works off ping but companies always lack the foresight to add a local search eg: GT5p, Call of Duty so we always get connected to people on the other side of the world. I would kill babies and possibly drink a little bit of their blood for local search in GT5 because for some reason these game companies think countries like Australia love playing with over 300 ping.

This thread is going to get more and more crappy... After passing the 3D trees and the 2d fans, now we are at the shadows...

If the delay thing is right, I don´t wan´t to imagine what´s the next point to nitpick...

Ah thank you, nice videos.

In the second one there when they go on the top gear track it seems as if going into the last turn they have barriers put up on the sides maybe 5-10 ft in from the grass?

Do those exist in real life or is that sort of a measure to prevent people from skipping over the grass to improve their lap time?

Its just a shame we should be having a great time, I come on here to talk to you guys and have a good time but so much negativity. It is what it is, cant wait to November hits man the demo reminded me why I love this game so much.

About the delay thing, atleast kotaku are acting a bit more dignified this time round.
I was expecting them to jump all over this.

No news is good news at the moment.

Probably something about those dandelions on Fuji lacking the ability to throw seeds.

Well, I hope not.

No news is good news at the moment.

Exactly.

Whoa whoa whoa.... the dandelions don't throw seeds?

I am calling up Gamestop when they open and canceling my pre-order.:grumpy:

You won't find me negative mate.

Recieved my Wheelstand Pro on Monday so my set up is complete. I simply cannot wait until im racing online against 15 other people whilst its pouring with rain and driving using my G25. I must remember to send you a friend request.

I now have the perfect set up for GT5 which is a Sony Bravia TV, G25+WSP, Surround sound system. As i've played video games since the 1980s this is definitively going to be the highlight of all these years of playing video games.

My only negative comment is I feel Sony have missed an opportunity. I heard PSN plus isn't doing very well. If Sony had released a GT5 demo which was only available to plus members imagine how many people would of joined.

Be careful using your g25 in the rain.

Already bought an umbrella and some thermal underpants for when im driving in the snow.

I will add its going to be a new experience for me. Never ever used a wheel before for any racing game. I was going to practice on GT5P but because the physics engine is going to be different I couldn't see the point. I am looking forward to the challenge though.

:embarrassed: That sounds great man I know your going to have a blast I can only imagine if I got to play the demo with a G25. Yea its a shame they did not release that demo over PSN. Kaz probably doesn't not want many people playing it so he can blow every body away with the full game! Bring on November 2.

You should practice on GT5P just to get comfortable with the wheel and get your deltoids stronger so you can play GT5 longer and harder.
