I was in Tokyo for three days, a few days ago... pretty interesting/awesome place. While I was there, it was part of my mission to hunt down the PD office and ask them about GTP. I had their address on paper... but this being a Japanese address, it wasn't that easy to follow. I spend 5 hours searching, and eventually had to give up. It was getting too late and I had a plane to catch the next morning. 👎 But anyway, I tried for us GTP's... :sly:

You drive right past it on the Tokyo R246 track, their offices are across the road from the pit area i think.

ign.com have just announced that GT5 will be at e3. Finally some good news, I hope we get to see some new cars and general progress.

Could you give me a link to that announcement?

I'm praying for damage. ;)

You might be thinking of the Sony building opposite the pits. There is also a larger sony building on the first corner, but PD's office was in a totally different area of Tokyo. I believe they are on the 2nd floor of the Tobu Toyosu building in some place called Koto-ku. I came so very close... I reckon I would have saw the building without noticing.

There will be a number of people who may potentially slam you on here for not getting excited about damage, Faultier. But... to each their own.

PD can be full of surprises. We may not know what PD concocted in their mad laboratory(?) even if you were a proverbial fly on the wall. All I know is that PD will likely explore the limits of the PS3 and try to find new ways to harness it in trying to create the sequel to GT4. Some will likely argue GT5 as being "GT4.5" if the GT5 disappoints some people. We can at least know that there will be at least some progress report on this game at E3 next week. PD may stun us all with some new cars, some new tracks, some new features, etc. They usually never fail to stun people, so I'm not really expecting anything less than some bombshell deal. We'll have to pay close attention to videos, trailers, game demos, the like in regards to what's being experimented or working with Gran Turismo 5. It's going to be one hell of a ride.

I was going to do the same when I was in Tokyo last (4 years ago for 3 days), but once I was in Tokyo looking at the scale I gave up right away

Wish I did though.

I agree it is a interesting and awesome place.

Oh, i felt sure it had a Polyphony Digital logo on it. Perhaps i'm getting mixed up with the Sony Computer Entertainment 'diamond' logo?

Bad luck, I remember tracking it down a while ago, it's the building with all the cars on it. Better luck next time. ;)

Meh... not too fussed even if it's 2010. Kaz also mentions that they're concentrating on updates for Prologue, so I'm guessing that Prologue will keep growing. If the full GT5 is released in 2010 it's very unlikely that we'll have been playing the same GT5P all that time. So I'm not too worried.

Official PlayStation Magazine, in their issue 1 interview with Kazunori, stated that their office wouldn't be reckognised from the outside of it.

Well the Paris' "Salon de l'auto" is approaching, and Polyphony is supposed to reveal the new concept car Citroen built and designed especially for the game right ?

When does it take place exactly ?

Well, i know this is just because GT TV is featuring a Best Motoring show, and i know that this is not the first time that it happened, but, showing this in your front page?

It has to mean something, companies will usually hide cars/tracks/leagues/whatever they don't have a license.

It doesn't mean anything. What shows up in Best Motoring doesn't mean Polyphony has to acquire the license from Porsche, only Best Motoring. The only time Polyphony will be going behind Porsche's license is if you physically see a Porsche in the game without their permission.

I know, but to me it still seems odd to see a Porsche in the first page of their website. I remember seeing a GTTV speacial about the last Tokyo Motor Show and they also featured a Porsche. My experience is only based on sports games and how they handled non-licensed stuff.

It's only a Best Motoring piece, but that screen cap was selected and aproved before it hit the web. Would you like to show stuff you won't have?

(also, look at the Lambo in the back, another thing to keep us salivating...)

GT4 prologue shipped with a special DVD about the making og Gran Turismo, it was full of Ferrari's and Porsches, in the end those cars didn't make it to GT4 anyway.

I would just like to have a bit more news than once every 6 months...that's all..

wouldn't you?

I would:indiff:

My Prologue is collecting dust, and i'm probably using GT4 even more because of the wide range of cars and tracks.
I even want to get my hands on an Xbox and Forza2, just to keep me excited until GT5 comes:guilty:

It's a sad time for GT fanatics right now:guilty:

I spent roughly 200 quid on games yesterday to keep me busy til this game is finally released....but i'm sure it will be worth the wait if gt4 is anything to go by.
