No you got it right! NASCAR sucks badly overall. Its concept of the idea "race" sucks badly. LOL it is the worst race car sport in the entire world. Simply stupid!

I'm not NASCAR's biggest fan by a long stretch although i must say any online races i've done in them so far have been a lot of fun.... pushing the car in front at 220mph past the leader and into first is kinda cool. especially when your in a car with carbs and that weighs over 3 tonne.

In response to your comment NASCAR is the no1 sport for spectating crowds. more people can attend a NASCAR event than would watch a premiership soccer game on tv.

Does this count as news?

The clown reviewing gave the game 2/5? Some people astound me.

That's a "review"?

Don't bother clicking the link folks, it's one hit too many on the site...

Edit
This:
Some no name websites do that on purpose (giving low score reviews to big games who elsewhere get good reviews) to create hits.. so people like yourself (no offense sir!) post the link and out of anger/curiousity we all click the link.

Those 6 cars you got with CE are downloadable content which can be redeemed from Playstation Store with codes you have for them. But still, the game itself is the same, so if you have already installed SE there's no need to install CE as it is exactly the same game. Just redeem your codes, download and install your cars and you're done.

i wish this was the case, but when i have downloaded and installed these cars the SE simply did not see any of those, however as soon as I installed the CE the game automatically imported them. I'm confused a bit about this since the US version has different sound tracks from EU as well.

I guess i will just start the game over, anyway the game will not take that long to finish so I will enjoy the moments once again.

I have just bought LG 55LE5500 - a 55 inch LED TV so I can enjoy the game in even more details :)

Does anyone notice the "AI Catch-up"

When you race in A-spec and drives at the last position you can easly catch up the field. When you drive at 1st place they can follow your pace. this is pretty stupid for a realistic racegame.

A lot of racing games have rubberband AI, but I don't think it really exists in GT5. I mean, I did a A-spec race at Monza, and got the old Lotus Esprit stuck at the first chicane, but when I finished, he was in 7th. I was impressed really. In a real race, if someone got stuck like that, as soon as they got back on the track, they'd push to get back to the pack. I think it's actually pretty realistic.

German Touring Car Chmpionship. I got given an Audi A4 Touring Car fortunately as a pressie. Do I tune that up or shall I go with the Lexus still?

Haha! That's quite the recovery story

Lol, I must agree. That is one fast mofo. 62 laps with any other car and you will have to restart in most cases.

Whats more annoying, somebody breaking the AUP or the 10 idiots who follow him telling him to obey the AUP...

Worst forum for this stupid rule following cult ever!
I must agree. Let the mods do the talking. Most do it to get there post count up.

Probably because, in a real race, there is no hood cam, only roof cams. A hood cam would mess with a driver's vision. The roof cam is a bit more realistic. That's one thing I like about GT, they've always tried to capture realistic camera angles.

I have to disagree. Now that I have wheel, I moved over to the hood/roof view vs the chase I used while playing with the controller. I find it a bit more difficult to use the roof. I think hood is better. Its pretty much the same view as cockpit but without the dashboard. This makes it the more realistic view. I never seen anyone driving from a sunroof perspective. If the were they were doing stunts. I find the roof looks down too much on the hood and messes with my viewing angle. Cars with short fronts such as the Evo compared to lets say a Viper, makes a big difference. They projected the viewing angles completely different. This goes for Prologue as well. Some cars have roof others are hood.

there is really rubberband AI. i did the test. not so bad as in NFS Shift. but there really is rubberband! that lotus problaly is a better car compared to the other AI.

Yep, the old rubber band is back.

Like a rubber ball I'll keep bouncing back to you., bouncy, bouncy...... bouncy bouncy.

Kaz himself confirmed that rubber band was in. It's an algorithm that will increase the amount of grip one has available when he's behind the pack. And it also happens to you, not just to the AI. Personally, I think it's not as bad as some say - we all have a tendency to slow down a bit when we're ahead, even if it looks as fast all alone.

I have a question about mechanical damage.Did it get turned on by default it this last update or do we have to go into a menu and turn it on ourselves?I was racing a car earlier and it sounded horrible,i don't know if this is a side effect of the damage or not.
Edit: Does mechanical damage only work online?<-------------Noob question alert

Ding, ding. Round one.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does "Chrome Line" means?

I read in the news on the site home page that the three free christmas cars will be Chrome Line.

Anyone know why the Jaguar XJ220 and Camaro SS '00 have no exhaust backfire? All my other cars do. Not a big deal but I really like seeing it when downshifting, and I drive the XJ220 a lot.

So, you want to read a detailed comparison between the physics engines used in Gran Turismo 5 and forza Motorsport 3? Easy peasey lemon squeezy :sly:

You see, Gran Turismo 5 does things like this, and Forza Motorsport 3 does things like this.

Hope that helps 👍

It basically just means they have chrome stripes on the cars. Hence the, chrome lines on the cars in the pictures.

I'm not sure if this story has been posted here yet or not. It is a interesting read though.

If it's been posted I apologize.
There is another story that says Kaz wanted a open world component. That would have been great, but he says we would have had to wait afew more years. Well I'm happy with it, maybe he can implement it in GT6.
