Tsk, I seriously wonder how they take their decisions. Either they don't care at all about their own award … or there really is nothing else at SEMA but Camaros. Nothing against a Camaro … but seriously: Aren't there other interesting projects as well?

P.S.: Slightly offtopic: I saw a FM4 Screenshot of a Ferrari on top of Stelvio pass and became incredibly frustrated for about two seconds. Why can't Polyphony include a real-world mountain pass in GT? And then I realized it was just one of the "Home Screens" and the Stelvio isn't included in the game!

:D Seems like the competition sometimes also knows how to create hope for the customer and then deliver something nobody wants …

Probably safe to say that if you asked Kazunori Yamauchi if he'd prefer a Camaro or a Mustang, he might say "Camaro." I'm a Camaro lover myself, but I also love the Mustang. Just that I'm more a Camaro person.

Remember long ago when the beautiful Lamborghini Miura won "Best in Show" at the Pebble Beach Concours? It was a sign that GT would get Lamborghini. If that Porsche won "Best in Show" at SEMA, PD would probably have to put up with the same crap that got Forza Motorsport 4 unable to have Porsche in it, even though Porsche had long been a staple of the Forza manufacturer lineup since the first one. I do envision Porsche being part of the manufacturer lineup for a future GT. I've even did a video and blogged about Porsche in GT someday. If you want to see Porsche in GT, maybe some other show or convention would be nice to see a Porsche win and maybe be featured in a future GT. Like, imagine if an absolutely gorgeous Porsche 550 Spyder won at Pebble Beach or some other show. What hoops would PD have to go through to include the car into the next GT?

On the other hand of all this, at least this is another American car to be featured in the GT series when some feel there's too many Japanese things and not enough of everything else in GT. So it's really your call. I don't mind another Camaro in a GT title.

Had an idea about how *we* and Polyphony Digital might be able to get Prologue style online leaderboards into GT5.

I don't think the issue is with managing the basic car + track + time info, but saving / loading and storing ghost laps for 1000's of cars & circuits would prove extensive and would certainly push GT5 server bandwidth.

My little idea here would be to offer to host ghosts ourselves in the various communities of the internet. Where ghost data is present the game (via the user's PS3) can load it, where it isn't, at least there'd be a best lap time... At the very least, small communities / friends would be able to share and race against each other's ghosts.

For details, see here.

Shoulda been a Mustang really lol even though the 1970 one has won before.

Not sure if this was mentioned but there is planned maintenance on the 17th.

Very Interesting, ala rivals mode in that other driving game, minus any kind of reward other than winning. I like.

AWWW WHAT WHY? wasn't last year a Camaro as well? He should've went with the RAUH-Welt Porsche 930...

Then how would he get around the long standing problem with Porsche? If that wasn't a tuned Porsche and was built from the ground up (and had no Porsche badges at all), then I could see it happening.

I agree with RACECAR. In fact I don't think Porsche or EA would be happy if PD/Kaz tried to hold them hostage saying "I got lots of fans that wanna see this car in my game so gimme the license!!" Not exactly the best way to start a business relationship.

And if I had to pick a Camaro to be in the game, I'd actually pick this one over Mark Stielow's. Since this one represents a Camaro that has never been within the hallowed walls of GT (Don't get me wrong though, Stielow's Camaro is the ultimate version of bad-ass-ery and is built by the guy who created the tuning niche it resides in). Hopefully they include a regular version of the Camaro... but that's just wishful thinking.

These maintenance's are a good sign. It could mean more content to come in the future.

Do we know why we don´t have the lobby system from GTP? It was cool to set up cars for these events. Now we have to deal with strange rulesets most of the time-

I wish the seasonal events would be online races :(

Online seasonals is an excellent idea. Would give a lot of fun.

Finally my thoughts have been answered, can you hear the F1 series starting up already? I want the tracks more than anything else, 2nd to that, the 2-20 car grid, and 3rd the F1's. Yea baby yea!

Do you really prefer the monthly PD designed events to the complete freedom we have now?
Not saying most events are very good or logically set up but I certainly wouldn't trade it for the Prologue system.
In this case the positives certainly outweigh the negatives in my opinion.

The really sad thing about Prologue is that it started with weekly event updates.

It's not always on or the other. You could have both!

Yes ofcourse you can have both but the person I quoted asked why we got the current system instead of the one in Prologue.

Simple answer to that is, "PD decided to do it this way". A litany of things in GT5 don't make sense.

No, I meant both of course. Private lobbys is a must but to have the preset races was fine, too. We had Beginners, experts and Pro races with up to 10 Rounds. When I set my lobby to Racing Hard, 10 rounds penalty on ect. no one joins.
Also we miss the possibility to set more restriction like Japanese cars only or 79´s.
But it seems, that this great game is not finished yet, who knows what the future will bring.

I think thats the point :(

They added a bunch of class restrictions with the Spec 2 update, and I think I read that they are planning to add more.

Good, but I think we should be able to make our own, not just choose from a few presets.

I think you should be able to share cars with visitors to your lobby/room, too. So if I want everyone to use either an mx5 or an mr2, I can choose those two cars from my garage, choose some colours, and then when someone joins they choose the car they want to drive and pick the colour.

To be clear, they would be using an exact duplicate of the car in my garage. That way we could make our own classes/series', like historic touring car for example, and balance the cars ourselves rather than rely on pp, and we'd know exactly what each person is driving. Visitors wouldn't have to mess about buying a car either, it would just be simple and easy.

That would be awesome! I doubt it'd happen though :/

Kazunori mentioned that perhaps trucks would be added in the next DLC batches. If that's the case, let's see the Ford Raptor. No?

At any rate, if he meant tracks, then I'd be happier. Tracks>>>>trucks any day of the week.

We would need proper off road stadium tracks. Like those used in TORC and CORE. Could be fun.
