Now if that was last night I was using a 370z academy 08 painted as close to the 2012 academy blue one. fooled quite a few people as they thought I had the new one early.

What colour did you paint it? I'm pretty sure that all of the GT Academy cars are painted the blue from the 2012 Nissan GT-R.

kicking myself for not downloading GT Academy, as I will not get the GTA cars!!

You aren't missing a whole lot. I played it primarily to learn and get a lot of practice, though the unique tuned GT-R and 370z is nice to have, as well as the GTA suit.

I guess, just that it will not surprise if my club run the new cars in an event for next season. I should have thought of that! LOL

Hmmm. He was driving a 370Z Turbo like in Round 8 and I'm pretty sure a Black Edition GTR.

Edit: There were no years present on the decals. Didn't know there were already GTA cars in game. Got a GTR from last year but thats it.

Ok, so they are the older ones. The 370Z I believe comes from the 2009 Demo. Can't recall where the V-Spec one came from.

Does anyone know if the old DLC cars from last year's GTA are availsble for new GT5 gamers? Even the Schick Edge Camaro, is that code still valid?

As I mentioned in the other thread, you're too late.

Does this also apply to the Stealth GT500 and Kaz's 2011 N24 GTR?

It applies to the Stealth GT500, but not the Schulze Motorsports GT-R because that came in the 2.0 update along with the 2011 NASCAR cars.

So, IGN posted a new article about GT6, pinpointing that we need GT6 soon, and not DLCs for much longer. At this point, I can agree.

Most of the points he makes, I can agree, but the problems about standard cars scares me. Even though it would be nice to see everything in premium, I'm scared to lose many of the cars that are standard that won't be upgraded to premium. That said, he didn't really give any further insight on the matter. Personally, the standard cars just needs to be polished, not taken away, because some of them actually looks great (or at least good enough). There's just too many good cars to lose for the sake of wanting everything to be premium. Just look at how many people use standard cars online! I know I use a bunch of them.

Just read the article, pretty good in my opinion.

Seeing the graph that showed how many cars from each country GT5 had was pretty surprising. I knew there were a lot of Japanese cars in GT5, but not that many.

I agree with what you say about the standard cars, they just need to be upgraded a bit, but lets hope they keep all the cool old cars.

July 2012 - Not a single whisper about Gran Turismo 6. Nothing. Notta. Zilch. Nil. Zip. Zero. Cero.

I'm probably in a minority that doesn't agree with a Vita version.
Well not at a cost to the main dish. If Sony/PD can show me they can handle developing both with most of the fans requests for improvements at no delay AKA released next year then I'll happily be proved wrong.

They have not given me any reason to be optimistic in this though.

I was a bit surprised by the graph, but reflecting back, it started to make sense to me. Regardless, I was surprised as well.

In argument to the author, I really think, though, the latter is because PD is just simply short on resources, especially compared to Turn 10. Until they're willing to work outside of their own resources, I don't see see this problem resolving anytime soon. Instead of traveling to locations for a week or so for Track data and pics, they'd have to do the same, but for cars only. The problem is that they have to physically move a partial of their team for travel just to get data and pics.

Also, interesting tidbit in the end about this, when he mentioned how Microsoft and EA was able to make a bit of "nice" to each other regarding the Porsche license. Perhaps this is something none of us will ever know. If I have to guess, MS just got boats load of cash.

I'm not sure myself about the whole Vita thing, but I think it doesn't necessarily mean that both GT6 and the Vita version will be released at the same time, but rather for future purchase of the Vita version.

Other than that, not sure how you can play Gt6 on the PS3, then play on the go on the Vita. Perhaps it will be simple things like earning extra cash and cars for the PS3 version.

I do not think they are so short on resources, I think they have a big problem with resources allocation and efficiency. Its almost as if 95% of the staff worked on the premium cars while the remainder got slumped with everything else.

From what I remember and heard at least, PD is a Japanese-only development team that only directly work within their own 150 plus staff, minus the marketing and localizing staff that are provided by Sony. If that is true, it is a bit hard to get data elsewhere from Japan.

I'd link to a source if I can remember, but right now it's either true or not. Whatever the case, there has to be a reason why we get so few cars outside of Japan compared to its own. I doubt it's because Kaz want over 62 percent of the cars in the game to be Japanese, especially knowing he's a car enthusiast that likes a wide range of cars, judging from the winners from Sema and Pebble Beach.

If you really look at it, I doubt any one of us can find more then 50 of the 800 standard cars from GT5 that we see as must have premiums for GT6. 100 would certainly be more then enough.

Most of GT5's standard cars are early 2000s models or slightly older models of premium cars. For example the Ford GT '06 premium has two standard concept cars. Nobody will shed a tear if they're never seen from again.

How? Did someone tweet this or do you think he could know this

Sorry mate. Not that particular article no.
I meant to say in his heart he knows this. It's nothing new to him.

People saying he's out of touch with the community are mislead I believe.
I think he knows the shortcomings and it's probably eating him up inside.

Wether hell ever talk about it I don't know.
Maybe when GT6/7 comes out and it's up to scratch he may talk about his feelings towards GT5. I think it's a burden to him ATM.

All my opinion obviously.

PD is studio of 150+ people from Japan.

Forza project have more than 400+ people all over the globe, with that number including staff from 4 separate companies being in charge only for making in-game assets (vehicles and tracks). Those companies are Austrian Rabcat, Indian Dhruva, Taiwanese Glasegg and US-based ACME.

In short, T10 have more than 3X of manpower compared to PD. They are absolutely "short on resources" if you want to compare them to the worlds-unique powerhouse that is in charge for producing in-game assets for Forza. Nothing touches Forza in that regard, because the actual car-roster and DLC policy is their primary business-model and differentiating-factor for the complete market and overall genre.
