And I really don't know why you guys love so much fantasy tracks...:yuck:

It's great to have real world circuits, but a track designed specifically for a game can be a much more rewarding experience to drive on. You only need to look at Laguna Seca (especially GT4's version) or say Motegi and how awkward they can feel compared to the flow of Trial Mountain or Midfield.

^ Before you go into further details, go vent-out here:

Are Fictional Courses Good for the Gran Turismo Series?

^ A lot of GT fans are Fictional Track fans too, so in a way...watch your words. ;)

I wasn´t planning to go in further details because I didn't think thart was necessary, since I was expressing a personal opinion - I don't like fantasy tracks, and I somewhat failed to see what is appealing on these tracks and their layout.

But that it's not because they are fantasy tracks, it's because their layout doesn't flow in my opinion. A real life track I'd put on the same level is Virgina International Raceway - that's not a track, it's a piece of tarmac laid down on the ground by someone who was drunk. Nothing on that track makes sense.

I would concede that a track has Midfield does flow in the most of it, but the track is a little bit 'sterile', too simple...

See we disagree on this. Laguna Seca IMO does flow very well on the location it sits. The downhill main straight ending in Andretti's hairpin. The two left-handed corners that lead you uphill and the challenging corkscrew, and the fast downhill section from there until the tight left corner leading you to the main straight. I concede although it lacks in variety and it's a little bit too short if you ask me.

As for Ring Motegi it does flow and does have some interestiing corners, but lacks of true challenge due to the fact of being almost flat. But has a rich and interesting final section and due to the variety of corners do in fact become less "sterile" than Midfield.

Motegi :grumpy:👎

Trial Mountain (though moreso the Reverse version) is hands-down the best track in the real or virtual world.

Well my hands are up, pointing at the sign that says "Truth, Bathurst is the best track on Earth or game!".:sly:

We all have different preferences, thank God for that, but looking at the real life lay-outs of the recently created ( and not very convincing IMO ) Bahrain and Abu Dhabi circuits where money seems to be no object they should perhaps have recreated something like Trial Mountain, etc. as those fantasy tracks have as much cultural significance to a whole generation as some real life tracks do.
PD already cooperated with car manufacturers to create real life cars ( one concept and some design work ) and maybe the next step might be creating a real life track based on Trial Montain ( my preference ) or similar.:)

Most fantasy circuits, like Trial Mountain especially, would never pass as a real track due to safety concerns.

I have to agree with most here, I think most of the made up tracks are pretty good as far as tracks go. Sure a few of them are quite simple but I found them quite fun.

This weekend there will be in Japan a little event, and GT5 demo will be shown to 6 motor magazines. Available cars are SLS SMG and Toyota FT86.
Can we expect something?

Well, at least we`ll get some video, but probably we`ll see the same tracks:grumpy::ouch:
Joy, more videos of the same two cars going around the same tracks... How about a totally new track that has never been seen in the series before, with a Bugatti Veyron, Enzo Ferrari, McLaren F1, and Koenigsegg Agera doing battle?!

How about Tokyo ?;)

Based on Split Second/Blur May release & F1-2010 September release, sadly, I am betting on December release...have I mentioned this month how ridiculous the GT5 saga is?

Not sure GT5 will be hold back for a few arcade racers and F1 2010 being released somewhat simultaneously as it will probably steal their thunder and apart from the F1 game perhaps, it is not aimed at the same target group ( not meaning people can't love all these games, btw ).
And maybe i'm wrong but 3D isn't yet confirmed, only rumoured, for GT5 isn't it?

Back to the "My favourite fantasy track is..."

Deep Forest FTW, Trial Mountain is good too :)

I used to like High Speed Ring, but since GT4 (It wasn't in GT3) it has become a little boring, like Test Course it was widened, lengthened and flattened.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. While Trial Mountain is a good track, I'd have to go with the Nordschleife, despite it being the obvious choice.

In my opinion, the longer a track the better (maybe that comes from my love for Rallying), which makes me like Nürburgring, Bathurst or Macao.

These tracks all provide great variety in one lap, and corners do not repeat themselves so often because of the tracks' lengths, which makes them so much fun to drive on. (although I must admit I sadly never owned a racing game that included Macao - still hoping I'll one day be able to drive on it in a GT-game)
