I am worried about simulation part. They said SAME damn thing wiht DIRT 2, when they claim its a SIM and realistic.. yet its very arcade!, aslo same thing with Need For Speed guys with latest one, they claim its SIM yet its still very Arcade like. I hope they really do mean SIM will be true to life!

Yeah same here. iv only just got into the F1 sport this year so would love a good in-depth SIM but.. Yeah not holding my breath unfortunately..

Aman right here as well. Especially with GT PSP was screwed with, big time with absolutely NO SIMULATION MODE.

They won't buy a PS3 just for Final Fantasy though....

You should have seen the PS3 sales spike for FFXIII's release, especially in japan, where it just went through the roof. Hopefully the other FFXIIIV game (the good one) will trigger a similar spike, because it's looking good so far.

Oh well. Hopefully they get their act together. But more importantly, hopefully GT5 is immune to the possibility of 3D TV tanking.

Exactly why i havent brought and cant see me ever buying GT PSP, but then thats just my personal opinion cause im not at all a fan of arcade games, i dont even like how GT5:P plays cause its just a bit to "arcadey", NFS:Shift is alright i dont mind it actually but yeah i know still not really a SIM.

Not too big of a deal, but if anyone is in the U.S. and has Comcast. The GT5 Night Trailer is on Demand and it looks fantastic.

Which, by the way is only running in 720p. Man, I cannot wait for this game. :nervous:

1080p version can be downloaded for both PC and on GT5P.

Why do that when you can download the vid and watch it on your PS3 in glorious 1080p? :)

Thirty.... frames.... per.... second.... :grumpy:

Is that confirmed??? If so... that's lame. 👎

yes,I download it from US STORE in 1080p and it is very impressive to watch with full-hd tv!!👍

30 FPS for F1 game? Even racing with slow cars like FORD Fiesta and Honda Fit in 30 FPS would be horrid!

I don't know about that

Non-gamers will buy any PS just for a GT game these days. You know car nerds, racing drivers, normal people and so on. People that don't play games on a usual basis. People into cars, and cars do dominate every day life, outnumber people into FF, which are mostly hardcore gamers and emo nerdy fan boys :)

I just don't see many people buying a PS just for a FF game. Hell do they even know what FF is?

Car nerds buy things for their cars, not games. The number of non gamers buying systems for a certain game is a very, very small. Yes, people did buy ps1, ps2, and ps3 for just FF games.

Sorry to call you on this one chief, but your eyes can't recognise flicker above about 22 frames per second. So you can stop being a framerate snob.

There's no scientific basis that clearly states how fast a mind can process a "frame." Some say around 70, others around 30, but there is no real way of telling since its on a person to person level of difference. I like 60 because it requires the frame rate to dip at least 10fps before I'll notice.

So you're saying you wouldn't notice the difference between a game running at 22 fps (or even 30fps for that matter) or 60 fps?

In games you'll definitely notice this. I know movies and such don't exceed 24 fps and they still look smooth, but this is not the case for games.

I guess you would be so very amased when taking a spin of any FR car in GTPSP from the cockpit on Trial Mountain for example.

Lack of GT mode - AKA Simulation mode - in GTPSP game has nothing to do with game not being simulation from terms of physics.

Although PSP hardware is just one of the most horrific hardwares when driving games are concerned, if you have ever played GT series on D-pad (AKA times before GT3), you will certanly be blown away how actual handling is great when driving on D-pad of PSP in conjuction with manual shifting.

Your hands will suffer after just half hour - at least I have that problems, but than I'm 33 so I'm not so young anymore - but trust me when I say that driving any road car with S or N compound in GT PSP is one of the best experiences you can have regarding actuall feel of driving.

GTPSP is far the most underestimated GT game ever but without any logical reason for any GT or driving fan in general. Game has design structure that perfectly fits to "handheld - play for an hour" logic, it boosts enormous number of cars and tracks and it have the most superior handling model ever seen in handhelds and beyond, comparable even with unbelievable amount of "big" driving-simulaton outthere.

And if you're lucky owner of PSP with video-output you can even enjoy it more when attached to SD TV set (HD will not do any good :))

In short, 30$ you give for GT PSP is far the best money you can invest in your automotive-love and driving-simulation love.

GT PSP is a great game. It has it flaws, yes, but those are so not important when everything is taking into concern.

Yeah well said, but (and i know a lot would probably disagree) but the physics of the game when it comes to the PSP GT doesnt really worry me too much compared so say what GT5 is going to being as its just playing with ur fingers and not a steering wheel setup.

In short i like the Simulation side of things, over the physics side of things (to certain extents of course)

Just my 2 cents! :)

Most people don't realize that game was designed for portability. It's a "pick up and play" game. Surely doesn't mean it's bad, but because it's a portable game AND a GT game, it has flaws. Mainly the depth that the GT series is known for.

I'm reading this on an iPhone and the layout is great thanks Jordan, except I accidentally went to the first post in this thread. The sad thing is we really know nothing much new about GT5 except that Lamborghini is confirmed.

Well, we have seen Lamborghini in demos, but nothing has yet been confirmed regarding the final manufacturer list. So, all we can reall say is it's highly likley to be in the game.

Not sure the iPhone part of the post was of any relevance, other than to say you have one... Still, I'll be getting a 2010 version if the Gizmodo iPhone images and videos are anything to go by - previous physical designs were naff to say the least.

The biggest selling PSP game series worldwide is Monster Hunter. Aside from EVE online, I can't think of a single game that is more difficult to 'Pick up and play' than that.

They could have put in a re-hashed GT4 GT mode and the game would've been beyond brilliant.

Exactly. Tests have sown that some fighter pilots can distinguish and identify a plane on a single frame out of 280 per second. So, anybody coming on here saying the eye cannot detect frames/flicker above 22 or 24 fps or whatever, they are delusional.

One thing people fail to take into account is the difference in how video is filmed, and how games are rendered. A single frame for a movie contains a range of motion for that 1/24th of a second. As such, your brain can easily smooth things out. It's different in games, where one frame is just that - one point in time. To smooth things out means having more frames, and I can quite easily see the difference between 60fps and 30fps in something like an FPS.

It's also the four hundred and seventy-eighth time its been posted...
No it isn't.

That may be right for tv/movie with motion blur, but a digital signal like ps3 there is noticeable difference between 30 and 60fps. Look at COD vs bad company, huge difference. 60fps should be standard for racing and FPS games.
