I understand. I'm here to stimulate conversation, and it worked! :)

Yes, it's a shame some countries have gotten the short end of the stick. Italy, for quite a while, had been largely ignored in GT titles, but with the Lamborghini, Ferrari and quite possibly Maserati, Italians will have much to smile about in GT5.

The same may be said for Australia. I am pulling for them, too.

Despite the amount we got in GT2-4 though, the US and UK are still under-represented. Some could say we need more too :sly:

Generally though, if licensing doesn't get in the way, accessibility and then time does.

If PD has obtained the license for big brands, it then needs access to the cars. That is no problem for newer brands and models, but for the older classic varieties it can be difficult to get access, this is my worry in regard to classic Ferrari models (But we'll be optimistic, PD has built up a well-earned reputation in the car industry, hopefully it shouldn't be too much of a problem).

Then there is time. If GT5 is going to be out this year, they don't really have time to go through the process of adding new manufacturers to the game. So if you are reading this anyone from PD, and there are large or influential manufacturers who you have simply overlooked, get your act together. I doubt there are any such manufacturers though, I'm sure you've researched the industry quite well.

I always thought that the number above one was two...

But that thing weighed about a tonne..... More than it does in real life :sly:

Even so, was there really any point in including Volvo at all? :p Nobody would have missed either of these cars.

Is that what you want to see in GT5?:dunce:

Or is that what you ride to work?:sly:

To be fair, you got McLaren. Try telling me that's not big news!:sly:

In terms of America, I think it's represented pretty nicely. Of course, it would be nice to see SSC in GT5 to represent the world top speed record, but it isn't a must. But I will say I'd like a few more American models. Nonetheless, in terms of manufacturers, they've got a good amount in my holy opinion.

Oh, and the ZR1 already has me all hyped up. Will be the first car I buy that costs over 100,000 credits.

Err... neither? You said there was only one car from a Swedish manufacturer in GT4. Check out the watermark in the bottom right corner.

In my version, I only have one. I live in North American.

Even still, your version has two. Isn't that...sad? I mean, it's so barren, so desolate. I clicked on Sweden and I almost laughed. Well, not really, but Koenigsegg would be a huge lift for Sweden. With all of these supercars being added, I think it's only fair there be a CCX or two in GT5.

I'm in North America too. The old Volvo was only available at the used car dealer. So, yes, there is only one car in the Sweden section and the Volvo dealership, and yes, there are two Volvos, and by default two Swedish cars in the game.

How does one obtain it? It wasn't in the new cars section. And there isn't a classics section in my version under Volvo.

The same used car lot for all pre-1990 cars (though the name for it differs, region-by-region).

I see it now.

Well, one car in the main dealership on the world map is a fairly big insult. And I could argue they could have at least put the older Volvo in the classics section on the main dealership. But I will not argue that for argument's sake.

Again, that's what GT5 is for: Progression. The better representation of a nation/region.

Or win the Euro Hot-Hatch League in the European Hall.
The VOLVO 240 GLT Estate '88 is the prize car for this event.

You mean how Toyota recalled every vehicle affected once the problem had arisen? Yeah, because they handled that pretty badly. Free repairs for all and a world public apology.

Sorry, not that simple. I have an IS350, which was on the 'voluntary list' in january (infamous floor mats) and the formal list in march (pedal mechanism). When I get home I'll pm you the letter(s) from TMC and their 'position' on the matter. (blamed outsourcing supplier, no immediate danger, etc.. Free repairs, schedule appointment with dealer, parts available next month...) Alas, No apology.

But you might want to read this

Don't misunderstand, I loved my 02' IS300 and I enjoy my IS350. That's why I haven't bought domestic (US) in 10yrs. But to infer that one manufacturer is 'better' than another is ridiculous. Nowadays everything we buy is a crap-shoot. I'll let you read into that what you will.

I'm with FoolKiller.

I think I need a t-shirt that says that...

Seriously though, I agree. Station wagon races were kinda funny and really fun to do with your friends. If you could learn how to get that Volvo wagon around a track smoothly, you'd be that much better off with everything else :)

Since the Volvo wagon was in GTPSP, we should expect it in GT5 too, right?

Is it me or do we need a seperate news thread, and a thread for discussion?

At the moment I have to trawl through pages of discussion to find out there isn't any news items!

He got the joke, chief.

Yes, apparantly he did...........:)

I'm sure ( sort of ) that it will be in GT5, and I thought it was really fun when fully tuned, drove a real one once and it definitely wasn't....
There were some station wagons in GT4, remember always choosing the RS6 Avant over the regular RS6 saloon just because it looked so much cooler.

Alright, so there was jokes???:sly:

Yeah I've got a great one:

A guy goes in to his local Gamestop and says "Hey, when is GT5 going to be coming out?"

The guy behind the counter says "Why, I have that date right here on my computer! It's...."

Okay so it's only funny if you've read enough posts on the GTPlanet forums...
