Anyone else not expecting:
- a livery editor
- weather effects
- a track editor

I really can't see any of these making the cut on release.

I agree with you... however my stats about the possibilities this features are inclueded are:

I think 25% weather effects, 15% track editor (just because of the rumors), 10% livery editor (online we will see Hello Kitty or Fast and Furious cars, lol),

however, 50% external parts additions, like spoilers, mufflers, headlights...
that is something more "Granturismish", things that don't ruin a car's appearance as liveries

Only livery is interesting... Weather maybe on PS4... And track editor? could be interesting because some people are really talented but I don´t wan´t 1.000.000 tracks in the game...

And what exactly is the problem with a hello kitty car? I think it'll take away some of the seriousness the game has, which might be a good thing.
And people who create such liveries usually aren't the fastest drivers, so if you're good, you won't see them very long in a race :P

Besides, imagine the humiliation if you're beaten by one of those :D

I think weather is a near certainty to be honest.

A track editor would be great if it happened and allowed you to make tracks up to PD's standards but it's probably more wishful thinking than anything else.

Kaz has said there will be more customization than in GT4. That won't actually be difficult to achieve but I don't think it will go further than aero parts and overall paint with maybe some stripes.

Does anyone know how to contact Sony to fix the gt5 trailer download in the ps store?? I want it on my ps3 along with the E3 09 trailer! :)

i've sent an e-mail, hope it helps 'cause it's pretty annoying

Yeah, I'd so like to see a hello kitty Ferrari driving alongside. /sarcasm

I'm sure some of the liveries would be great but the majority would be unbearable.

I guess the livery will be limited to some options rather than player's own images because the car manufacturers don't like anything pornographic, idiotic, political, or even other manufacturer's graphics on their cars:ill:

Id have to say Weather is the most possible one to make it in.
Livery i dont think will be in.. if anything it will be very limited to pre made manufacturers decals.
As for Track editor I would say its the least possible due to the dificulty of implementing it into the phisics and the game itself.

I could be wrong! :D

My take..

I think there will be some sort of livery editing, though I doubt it'll be at the level of Forza.. probably pretty basic if anything.

Weather will probably only be available on select (very) few courses under very specific conditions - if at all. It will be a separate "variation" of a course, like Tsukuba in GT4. I'd perfer driving in dry 100% of the time so.. you know I don't give a hoot.

Even day/night I think will only be on a select few courses, only the ones it makes any sense on.

A track editor I'm honestly hoping we don't get, because it will just be a total mess as far as I could possibly imagine.

Which one? I got both the recent trailers with no problem.

Not expecting any of that.

We knew about the horn yesterday, or friday.

Uhm.. I guess I run out of close-to-reach buttons on my G25...

* One to look backwards
* One for NOS
* One for high light beam
* ...

I've been thinking about it since I played the Indianapolis demo.
I play with a DS3 and I can not imagine how that many features can be controlled with it. I guess I will play without horn high lights and stuff like that that are not necessary for racing.

But some buttons can be freed if an PS3 camera is used to see the mirrors.
I do not have a cam either, sooooo, whaaaateveeeeeer.:crazy:

I like the new tyre smoke, I think it should linger a bit longer. However the dirt that kicks up when going over grass is well overdone.

Why is this even mentioned? Unless you have a arcade racer, there was no way that was going to make it in from the start to begin with. The other two on the other hand I disagree. Those two have a better chance of making it in.

rubbish excuse...if it can be put in Forza, then that reasoning is pure nonsense.

There I fixed it :P

I'd rather have improved engine sounds than track or livery editor.
But let's be honest, with all those trailers shown, Kaz promised us GT5 and we dreamed of GT6.
So, it's waiting one more time...

One for the lulz. :lol:

Why justify PD's lack of vision? If GT5 is to be a memorable "racing sim" in the 21st century, proper online options with the essential livery customization are fundamental. After all these YEARS of development, we would expect, YES EXPECT, they with get with the program. Competitions, championships, teams, etc., will be expected to get organized by any reasonable developer, liveries are essential to distinguish individuals and teams.

Personally, I couldn't care less about racing a "showroom" car. I am sure most of us would like to customize our cars and make them unique. The same goes for the photo booth, to me ridiculous if I can't customize my car. May as well browse the internet for car marketing pictures.

It will be almost 6 years by the time GT5 ships. Yes we can expect everything but the kitchen sink. What will we get in the end?

I've been toying with the idea of which buttons to configure where.

I've decided that combo buttons might be a useful idea.

Part of the difficulty of racing side by side in an online race, is if you're bumper cam, you can't see you're opponents either side of you. I made the right and left buttons on GT5P so that they looked right and left, but then I don't have a button for look behind (which I consider valuable). What would be good, is if I pressed both of those buttons at the same time, I looked behind, this would really make things easier than having to reach down to the gear shifter, which in the heat of battle, makes things very clumsy.

Perhaps it's not entirely necessary, but it allows the G25 to effectively have 3 buttons on the wheel, rather than two.
