Why justify PD's lack of vision? If GT5 is to be a memorable "racing sim" in the 21st century, proper online options with the essential livery customization are fundamental. After all these YEARS of development, we would expect, YES EXPECT, they with get with the program. Competitions, championships, teams, etc., will be expected to get organized by any reasonable developer, liveries are essential to distinguish individuals and teams.

Personally, I couldn't care less about racing a "showroom" car. I am sure most of us would like to customize our cars and make them unique. The same goes for the photo booth, to me ridiculous if I can't customize my car. May as well browse the internet for car marketing pictures.

It will be almost 6 years by the time GT5 ships. Yes we can expect everything but the kitchen sink. What will we get in the end?

What does half of this even have to do with what I said? Did you even see what I bolded? I was saying that the Track editor was never gonna happen. No racing sim has a track editor so I still don't know why it was even brought up

Perhaps it's not entirely necessary, but it allows the G25 to effectively have 3 buttons on the wheel, rather than two.

Or we can all buy a G27, which has more buttons if I'm not mistaken.
BTW Nos will be available I guess, just like GT4.. But indeed it's maybe one I don't frequently use. But if the AI becomes very difficult, it could be useful;)

I think there will be some sort of livery editing, though I doubt it'll be at the level of Forza.. probably pretty basic if anything.

Don't be so sure about that. I mean, in the Ferrari racing game, their livery editor was a stripped down version of Forza's, (more like the one in Forza 2) and it sounds like we'll be getting a Forza-esque livery editor in Test Drive Unlimited 2. Heck the Toyota Sponsorifcation livery editor is pretty similar to Forza's. So, it isn't hard to make a Forza style livery editor and, if anything, I'd expect PD's to be the same if not better to what Forza has.

I know what I liked to do was paint racing liveries on non-race cars. I think it could be fun...especially with 16 other cars on the track. (I'm sure some tracks, though, won't support a full field. I mean, can you imagine Tsukuba with 16 cars? It'd be crazy.)

Why is this even mentioned? Unless you have a arcade racer, there was no way that was going to make it in from the start to begin with. The other two on the other hand I disagree. Those two have a better chance of making it in.

There is nothing arcade about track editing. Is RFactor arcade? No. Is GT-R Evo arcade? No. Track editors like Bobs Track Builder are an integral part of making up for what the developer misses out of their games and there are plenty of very impressive user created tracks freely downloadable that show this to be a desirable feature.

This does not mean I think there will be a track editor. I'd like one but I accept it is unlikely.

Dude, all I can say is that I've accepted the fact that only 200 premium cars have cockpit view. I just want to play GT5 on 2 November whatever it is. Let GT6 and PS4 do the rest of the requirements from all fans. Undoubtedly, the standard of GT5 must be over my expectation. So, what I just need to do is wait and see what I'll be given.

Hey since you live in Hong Kong can you get someone to ask these questions being asked in Japanese on Kaz's twitter page? Maybe the cockpit view question.

Well, I think it's more suitable for Kaz' s subordinate, who is an English native speaker, to clarify the cockpit view.:guilty:

you do know, Kaz can speak and understand English, right? It's just difficult for him to speak English, so he usually doesn't. But there have been times where he has had interviews where the translator guy just translated Kaz's words to the interviewer and there have been times when Kaz didn't have a translator. You can't work on a game that is so successful world wide and not speak at least a couple languages. (That and, English is a required course in Japanese schools. Not sure, though, if that was true when Kaz was a kid, but still...)

Sorry, my bad for not reading properly. Yes, you are right about the track editor. Never thought it would be realistic. I did however expect a boatload of tracks, that at this point seems unlikely as well.

40+ locations and 100+ variations.

I must have missed something where did this 40+ locations and 100+ variations come from?
Is this confirmed from PD?

I'm actually still confused about the "20 tracks". If we'll get only 20 tracks it's way less than GT4, and they've worked on this game for 5 years. Sure, 20 tracks may be enough, but I would really really miss Laguna Seca, Infineon and Twin Ring Motegi if they won't make it to the game. :nervous:

They've said on numerous occasions that GT5 would get pretty much everything from GT4 and more. I'll just assume that the 20 tracks announcement is similar to the number of cars present in the game, which went from 650+ to over 800, to 950+ and now sits at 1000+.

And while I dont rate the quality of information the playstation blog dishes out very high overall, I do suspect that the 40/100+ is heralding this assumption.

Also, Kaz Yamauchi said in an interview this E3 (I think it was the Honda Twitter one) that the number of tracks for GT5 still has to be determined; thus the total number could indeed go up from the 20/70 (or 40/100+) announcements.

I don't really get the last bit. They have said that some of the tracks took 2.5 years to make. So with 4 months to go until release, maybe 3 until it goes gold, how can Kaz be saying the total number of tracks is not decided? They haven't got time to make more. Does this mean they are considering not including tracks already created. Just doesn't make sense to me.

DLC.

Cars will be available, prologue got tracks after release, so I guess that's why it is to b determined. And if he isn't happy with the track then it wont make it. Remember that weather can be included but Kaz is in 2 minds as to actually leave it in.

I think they were reffering to Rome and Madrid taking about 2 years to make.
