Yes, it confirms GTPSP-like DLC (a.k.a about 5 cars in new liveries that will likely be made free after a few months). Hardly a major DLC like the one you describe. Kaz has already shown his aversion to that kind of DLC. I don't think it's gonna happen.

Kaz frankly says a lot of things, maybe it's not just a case of not fitting in his philosophy but more a decision made by Sony to create extra revenue by offering DLC.
Either way, it may indeed be unlikely but would create an opening ( wishful thinking no doubt ) for those like me who are still worried and disappointed by the lack of interiors.

So the 2d version will be gigs and gigs while the 3d version based on the 2d version will be 10mb?

The "3D version" is nothing more than rendering the game in a slightly different way. Every thing is the same, car models, track models, etc... You only show them in a different way and, voilá, 3D.

Thanks! :sly:
(it even can be downloaded via small patch)

Standard and premium physics don't exist. Yes standard cars will have the same physics as Premium cars. The only things that are different from premium cars compared to standard cars are:
1: They'll have low- and high-beam headlights
2: They'll be modeled more closely
3: Their damage model will be more intensive
4: When greatly damaged the interior of these cars such as the engine etc. shall become exposed and shown

Those are all differences we know that are confirmed. I'm not certain all cars will have cockpit view but it's yet to be said the won't.

Yes, but it's still rendering the 2d image twice. Ehh, 10mb just doesnt sound right to me, that's all.

That sounds more related to processing power than storage. I mean you're not actually storing every piece of imagery twice.. ur just playing it twice.

There are relatively small updates to four games on the PSN store already. Rendering the image twice takes up few more resources than you opening an image twice on your computer side by side. You still only have one copy of the image on your hard drive. 3D will not require two of every asset on the disc.

Thanks.
That still sounds a bit off to me. If the ps3 has no problem playing 2 images while keeping a steady 60fps, why aren't all games 60fps and why do many have stuttering issues?

Thanks.

You do realize the original PS3 prototype first showed at E3 way back when, with the boomerang controller, had two video-out HDMI ports? They talked about how you could setup a game on one screen and a video chat on the other. The second was dropped for cost cutting purposes before launch.

As for issues in individual games: As with all games, developers. Either they don't want to put forth the effort, they made a poor port from the 360/PC/whatever, or they simply felt it wasn't going to add to their game.

It is not the PS3, otherwise you wouldn't have games that do run at a buttery smooth 1080p/60fps.

Can someone 'YES'/'NO' this for me.

Thank you.

All cars in GT5, whether standard or premium, will use the GT5 physics engine. So yes.

Would be stupid if they used two different physics engines... But the fact standard cars are confirmed to have rollover, means it's pretty much confirmed they all use the same physics.

Thanks.

It actually has BIG problems playing 60fps in 3D,It even has problems running 30fps in 3D.To be precise - there is one game that runs 720p@60fps, and it's vertical shooter (very simple graphics), all other games drops resolution, effects and fps.Even Killzone 3.
For example Wipeout HD runs 1920x1080p@60fps, 3D version 1280x720@30fps.
Actually it's not twice much power needed, maybe 1.5 or less with optimization.Because many things don't need to be rendered twice.
And yes 3D has nothing to do with storage space, only with rendering power.

What if Standard cars only support the Standard physics?

Would you guys be happy if they included the Prologue physics aswell? So you will have option of...

- Prologue
- Standard
- Professional

LOL I also want the closest to real life physics as possible which is why I will have mine set to professional, but it can't hurt to have it in there for good measure.

It sounds ridiculous, but having played Prologue a lot, I still suspect the AI was driving with Standard physics even when you were on Pro.

But that has nothing to do with the standard/premium modelling discussion which is purely about aesthetics.

is this fire will be in GT5 ????!

Where did you get that picture from? Been wondering about fire, first time I see it in GT.

GT4 had a similar exhaust/fire system, when shifting down gears. It would be odd for GT5 not to feature some updated form of this.

;)

Which I hope has been changed up a bit from the TT physics, because I had one hell of a time getting used to them. Felt like I was driving on an ice track.

Damn. I thought they were so much better than GT5P felt so good with the G27 Even the N3 felt way better than the N3 is GT5P. You use a wheel right?
