Can't believe people can't distinguish the GT-R Concept in GT4 from the GT-R Proto in Prologue.
Both are concept cars, one is closer ( almost similar ) to the final production version ( the Proto ).

Here's the one from GT4 ( Concept )

And here's the one from Prologue ( Proto )

The first one ( Concept ) did have an interior.

They built a working prototype, therefore it must have an interior. Otherwise, like CoolColJ says, how did they drive it around? Plus he posted images of the real interior, that pretty much settles it. For whatever reason, PD didn't model the interior for this car.

I'd like to correct this, after a bit of research. The GTR Proto was not a working prototype, it was shown at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show and indeed, had no interior. (I think they just wheeled it about for images on-track like the one ^above)

And here is the image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/59/Nissan_GT-R_2005_TMS_1.jpg

But the question still stands, Standard or Premium? Considering all premium cars are supposed to have fully modelled interiors, how can they count it as premium?

If it includes all other aspects ( full damage, headlights, graphical differences, etc. ) which separates Premium from Standard it could still be a Premium car.
You can't model an interior if it isn't there.

How can it have the premium damage model if it has no interior?

Body deformation, panels falling off, you can't hide the interior. If it isn't there you can't remove body panels. I think it's standard, but I guess we'll see :)

Even in GT5:P the GT-R Proto didn't seem to be of the same quality as the other cars, and it didn't have a cockpit...

Unless I don't misunderstand the whole thing so is the Nissan GT-R prototype only a shell, not a whole car, that's why it has no cockpit view.... Or am I wrong?

I would say to check the panel gaps on the car. If you see the gap as texture, it is very likely ported from GT4/GTPSP, which means standard cars

Yep, by the way that Delahaye Bugnotti by Terry Cook you use as avatar is one of the most extraordinary and beautiful hot-rods I've ever seen.:)

You've just made me realize somthing... Maybe... just maybe this video is GT5 with even more examples of standard cars...

I thought that too as I was playing it... the cars in the trailer are detailed and have tinted windows so as you say it could be a definate hint to what the quality of Standard cars will look like... I for one am not worried by the evidence on the PSP intro as it will be easy for them to hit that standard or graphics... if not go beyond it!

Nothing really new but Mr.kaz confirms the new gt5-online features!!

Polyphony Digital boss Kaz Yamauchi has claimed that GT5 offers "a complete online system" to gamers - and it's the first title in the series' history to do so.

Predecessor Gran Turismo 5 Prologue supported online racing with 16-player multiplayer - but Yamauchi says GT5 easily trumps it.

The jewel in the crown of the new game's PSN link-up is the Lounge Mode - news of which broke online last night.

It offers voice and text chat for up to 32 players, and allows fans to watch other people's races in real time.

"We're finally going to have a complete online system," he told the latest issue of OPM.

"What's really unique about the online GT5 is 'My Lounge'. You can gather here, you can race together here, and you can actually watch other people race from this room.

The track assets are from GT4 (I think). Cars in GT5 will be at least this level, since they had to model them anyway for that vid, right? So they have the models at this spec at least. Probably a lot of those cars are standard, so we don't need to worry about anything other than cockpit view, because these look great.

Sounds like a top notch system that will make the online modes for even the biggest online titles currently look far inferior. Glad to see they are adapting with the times. This will surely add a whole new aspect to the game that will extend its playlife ten fold.

I hope this system has a list of rooms so we can see which races are going on at the moment before we jump in to spectate.

That, of course, if we can watch races even if we were not on the 32 player lobby in the first place.

I said the exact same thing... The cars in the intro looks awesome, especially the veyrons... but of course they should be premium so will look even better in GT5 (I hope anyway)

This is the most important ;)

I like the idea of viewing online race you can get to see other guys driving and their lap times too. Also I am not worried about standard models I think they will do good job. I think AI and online can make GT more epic. Gfx, cars, tracks, physics ... they are always ahead of the competition ;)

Has there been any news or items seen in all these releases on how GT5 will work with the PSN+? I can only assume now that Sony has rolled that out that massive titles like this will get special features or integration with PSN+ users. Especially as a way to drive subscriptions.

I have taken a couple more weeks off from the forums as I thought the threads might have moved on a bit, are we still talking about cockpit view?

Man!

There are so many threads revolving around the same thing, I am starting to get a little vext with PD to be honest.

Not vext about the cockpit situation just about the fact they will not just come out and clear this up for everyone. At least everyone could move on and get over it.

Just a single line statement would do. The info on the GT Site is still open to interpretation.

That and the fact there is still no official EU release date. Unless I missed that while I was away?

Well kinda. If you want to debate an 's' that has been said is a mistranslation. For most people its clear cut, but some are still clinging to the hope of cockpit views.

^^ I sure am gonna be one of those suckers that's gonna subscribe to PSN+ for GT5 if it gets extras. Count me in. 👍

There is always hope, and until I see the specific words, I'll cling to that. However, realistically speaking I doubt we'll see the dashboard camera view in the Standard Models.

Regardless, I took a look at the GTR Prototype in GT5P, and if that's how 800 cars come out, I will be very happy.

Bring on GT5!!:)

Unfortunately it seems like it's only for you and your friends..... No public lobbies :(

"The level of precision we've achieved [in GT5] is actually more suited to the next generation of machines."

"The detail that goes into a premium model [has] gone beyond the level of the current PlayStation."

'GT5 accurately models mechanical and cosmetic damage to an absurd degree, and whilst the classic models will buckle and crumple, those newer models will near-disintegrate'.

And people will still find something to complain about. I can see it now.
