GT5 Master Car List

The Mclaren MP4 is in, I can't wait! I wonder if you can take it on Kart tracks lol.

EDIT: I thought it was the Formula 1 car but its not.

Do we categorically know 100% what constitutes a "Standard Model"?

The F40 is listed as standard, it had a cockpit in GT5P.

The Enzo is Listed as "P/S" Which could mean anything.

The F2007 is also "P/S" and had full working cockpit and LCD screen in GT5P.

On the Bright side, we have a 2nd F1 car (F2007 & F10) which will make a good comparison. Shame there is no Red Bull F1 car, which I had assumed as a given after the X1 was shown.

Not wanting to moan or anything as I am so glad GT5 is finally coming out...

But where is my Ford Fiesta ST?

There are no Fiestas in GT5 at all? There was a fiesta in GT4?

I am surprised there is no Fiesta what so ever? Specially with Ken Blocks Fiesta RS being such a winner at the Rally?

Only reason I am bothered is because I own a Fiesta ST and was really looking forward to "pimping" it out so to speak and thash my car around on a virtual track...

I am a tad disappointed... Hope they do DLC cars at some point so i can buy it... Which I would...

Either way, I will still love GT5... Just a little dint on a basically perfect product...

I think we can all agree that the car selection could have far better balance.

As much as I like being able to pick and choose different models of certain cars I like (Skylines etc.) I would trade some of that variety for entirely new awesome cars such as the Mk1 RX7, Diablo, new Focus RS etc. (many, many more I wont list of course).

I'd certainly trade all the work they did on cosmetic damage for a superior car selection as well, having a bumper hanging off because I crashed into a wall doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to me, but not having some of the awesome cars I really want to drive really does.

Forza 3 + DLC certainly has a far superior balance in it's car selection, but it also misses so many greats.

One thing we should do on here is create a realistic and well moderated/managed thread where we create a list of 500 or 1,000 essential cars we deem as absolutely necessary for a game like GT.

I would certainly like to see the kind of list we could come up with.

What is meant by both P/S next to the name? Is that an excuse to include a car twice in the game?

The F40 is listed as standard.

Premium, They fixed the list.

Enzo was in the PSP game so there is a standard model in there, might be standard when carried over or bought used.

They are not counting the P/S cars twice, I don't know why they're including both, but they are. Avoid buying used cars is my advice ;)

:nervous:So theoretically a gt4 hd with the premiums as a bonus then.I still hope for the e30 m3 in some shape or form mkiv supra should be premium just as 300zx,r34,3000gt vr4 and host of others. what were they thinking....:grumpy:

This may have been asked already but what does premium/standard mean when shown at same car? I thought it was either premium or standard and not both.

Ok i'm fine with the list, but since when is the '99 Impreza rally car standard? We have seen it as premium.. This better be a mistake..

But where is my Ford Fiesta ST?

Hopefully where you left it.

There are no Fiestas in GT5 at all?

Doesn't look like it.

There was a fiesta in GT4?

Odd you should phrase that as a question, but there wasn't, no.

I am surprised there is no Fiesta what so ever?

Sure and everyone else is surprised there isn't a [insert car dear to you] in GT5. That's life.

Even better for every one person like you who thinks the Fiesta should have been included, there's 46 who'd think it'd be a complete waste of disc space. All 46 would miss the point that it's nothing to do with disc space, and probably half of them would be thinking of the Ford Festiva by mistake, but that's another issue.

I thought the 200+ Premium cars plus existing GT4/PSP cars had been clear to everyone for the last 6 months. :ill:

Or longer. When did we first get the news that there'd be 1000 cars, 830 of them (oh look, the number of cars in GTPSP) as Standard and the rest as Premium? And, thanks to The359's car list and now Fido's, we've been documenting every new car we've seen. We already knew almost all the cars in GT5 - the surprise element of today's car list should be almost nil.

Yes, very good. We already have wishlist threads though, thanks. I agree, it is indeed disappointing that [contents of GTP GT5 wishlist thread] - [1,031 car list posted by PD] didn't make it into the game. Now let's move on from that and let Fido keep his thread for the purposes he specified.

Actually, since the Official Car list has been revealed. The purpose that Fido started this thread with is now moot. We're now free to discuss the Official list, disappointments & glaring omissions.

If I remember correctly Kaz himself said in an interview that one of the cars wasn`t quite a premium model, but it wasn`t a standard model either. I have also seen people on this forum complain that some of the cars in Prologue isn`t as detailed as the other cars. Those P\S cars might be standard cars with interior or less detailed premium cars. Or it might have something to do with being able to change wheels or buy race modifications or something like that...

could anybody help me find the interview I`m talking about. It could have been back when those three classic Le Mans cars were announced.

And one more thing. It wouldn`t surprise me if PD kept a few cars a secret until the game was released.

Did Famine's secret car(Aston wasn't it )make it in?

It was - a DBR9. Missing from the list. I noticed this too.

Actually:

AUP
You will, if asked by a representative of the forums, cease posting any content.

Don't make me repeat myself.

Hey everyone, first post woohoo!

I'm disappointed too. Not necessarily because the [insert car dear to ME] and [insert circuit dear to ME] is not in the game but because I sense overpriced DLC packs coming.

I sometimes wish Forza was a better game. We all know Sony/PD can do this to us because they know there's no substitue for Gran Turismo.
I also wish that every teenager out there knows that 80% of the cars in GT5 are from 2004. Hopefully, that will dissuade some of them from buying the game. The lost revenue will be a good wake up call for Sony/PD.

Yes the purpose of this thread is now somewhat moot.

And in case you didn't notice, that was Famine that cautioned to use this thread for it's intended purpose. The Super Moderator under his name is there for a reason. You (and I) have no "rights" here at all. We're guests.

Edit: Treed. :)

@Famine does that mean there are some secret cars, also where is the HSV?

It doesn't necessarily mean anything.

PD have only provided DLC twice in their history. The first was to GT5 Prologue, updating Spec I as sold in Japan to Spec 2 as sold in the rest of the world. This update provided 34 cars and one track and cost nothing. The second was to GT5 Prologue also, updating Spec 2 worldwide to Spec 3. This update provided five cars and cost nothing.

As above, this means nothing, but PD's current track record for DLC is to provide it at no cost. One imagines the backlash from the original concept for GTHD (Classic and Premium) probably tips the balance further from "expensive DLC" towards "gratis DLC".

On a slightly related note there are some cars from GT3/GTConcept/GT4 which are missing from the list.

Maybe it's just me but wouldn't it be rather easy for PD to add them as a update or something since the cars have already been modeled. I don't know if it'd be impossible for some reason. I think I remember reading somewhere that GT5 only had an accurate physics model for four-wheeled vehicles, which would explain the absence of the three-wheelers. Or maybe it's licensing issues or the like. Anyway, I'd just like to put this out here in case of the long-shot that someone at PD reads this.

So far what I've noticed missing is (please inform me of others):

Auto Union V16 Type C Streamline ('37)
Daihatsu Copen Concept ('??)
Daihatsu Midget ('63)
F090/S ('??)
F094/H ('??)
F094/S ('??)

Could honestly care less about standard vs. premium, so my comments will not be reflective of those differences in any way.

Very happy to see the Japanese versions of my ('06 Civic Si) and my wife's (Mazda3) in there.

Very happy to see the Prowler, DeLorean, and Tank Car make a return, if only because they look pretty.

Mildly disappointed at so many variations of certain cars at the expense of other cars. I understand Kaz is Japanese, but we don't need 100 variations of the 350Z, 87 different Evos, and 92 NSX's (exagerrating), but there's exactly ONE Cadillac and Pontiac gets relatively snubbed. They include the Vibe, but not a single Firebird or Trans Am? Boo.

Mild gripes, though. Very happy overall, even if a lot of the list seems to be a re-hash of GT4. Can't wait to get my hands on the Camaro Race Car again and beef it up to 900+hp! :)
