GT5 Master Car List

I was expecting a lot of the 1000 cars to be Skylines. But a lot of the 200 Premiums are also Skylines/GT-Rs? Common PD, we want some variety. Especially if most of them are going to look like the same generic race-prepped cockpit. It really is starting to look like this.

You're just a philistine, the Nissan Skyline is my all time Favorite car, but i always thought that there was something missing in the gt games, motorbikes.

Just have checked premium car list carefully and OMFG there are 24 premium nissans...so much waste 👎
I mean why would anybody want Nissan GT-R SpecV (GT Academy Version) ?! :banghead:

Why wouldn't they? I've actually driven that specific car. I want it.

Why would anyone want to take cars off the list?

OK, list is now complete.
Let me know if anything looks weird and if you have pictures for cars, please post them here so I can add them to the first post ;)

Along with that stupid Volkswagen love bus, the 40+ Nissan as premium is a waste. Maybe Nissan paid them a lot of buck. Leaving behind the legendary Veyron, the iconic Countach as standard only and no Honda HSV as promise and a very few RUF( my goodness only one RUF, we don't have a Porsche, now only one RUF and it is a standard, come on PD) .

A waste of what?

Interesting how one poster says he counted 24 premium Nissans and you count "40+". Still, exaggeration never hurt a valid point EVER EVER EVER EVER times a million.

What in the world have you been smoking? There are only 1 premium of each proper Skyline GT-R, R32, R33 and the R34. On the other hand, there are 6 premium Corvettes.

In fact, I don't actually understand why did PD include standard Skylines, since all they would have needed to do to was change the wheels and add or remove a couple air ducts depending on the year of the car. I guess the "Too many Skylines" cry babies would have had a fit if they had done that.

56+19+29=99%

I suppose that last 1% is from other paces besides Europe,. America and Japan...like Korea and the X1

I think Europeans really got screwed over...

Where are all the recent hot hatches we all love and mostly drive?

The latest generation of the Ford Focus RS, Mégane 250 Cup, Mégane R26.R, Clio 200 Cup, VW Golf VI GTi, Scirocco... Even the MiTo and Giulietta...?

Damn them.

How did the list get shortened by 125?

Could somebody who's really fallen in love with Skylines tell us all what is so glorious about that car.

My personal favourite is the Legacy 3.0 spec B.
I like the looks, but the best part is in it's techique. It's propably the lightest premium sedan with a 6 cylinder engine. It's nimble, has the best 4wd system in any production car (proved by various tests). It's super reliable and durable. And the gem, the engine. With a racing exhaust, the sounds are just amazing. By being a boxer engine, there's no vibrations, just the clean engine sound. It has the perfect mixture of low tone american muscle type rumble and japanese high note.
The performance is also pretty good for a 3 litre NA engine with 250 hp in a daily drive car. But when installing a supercharger or/and turbo you can double or even triple the power. By being a 4wd and weighing only 1400kg it surely is fast of the line.

But as I said this was just my personal opinion and I know many people, like my best friend are passionate about the skyline, so I would like to hear why it is so special, that it deserves to be almost 10% of the total cars in GT5?

I think the Skyline is an excellent car in all it's historic developments and they all should be represented here. What I might questioned is, however, the variety of different specs models of the same generation IF to that they'd sacrifice resources or space for the inclusion of missing cars that also would have their rightfully space on the car list.

Variety is a good thing but it makes you wonder the criteria used when you have a huge number of variations of the same model and others, equally important, are absent.

BTW, I don't know if this have been already done, has anyone already confronted the official car list with cars seen in the past in videos and shoots? Including the TopGear magazine shoot? If so are all cars identified in the official list?

Yeah, I know. First they bring out the game here 5 hours ahead of anywhere else (and 12 hours ahead of Japan), then they force us all to buy it, then we get the same 1,031 cars as everyone else. What a gyp.

There is a saying; "Those who know GT-R's can't explain. Those who don't - cannot understand." which I think is fairly accurate. I'll try to have a go at explaining anyhow.

I adore them for their "casual" presence, Ferrari equivalent performance, and the price to speed ratio. There is just no other 20 year old car that I've driven to give the same kind of feedback in what you are doing behind the wheel. Having always loved Q-cars, something that looks dull and gray but can beat a Corvette or a Ferrari costing 6 to 10 times as much is great fun. 👍

Okay whatever but it is still a waste of resources instead of spreading the resources to make other exotic cars as premium like the Lamborghi Countach, Veyron, and more RUF cars. Well Maybe they got a big buck from Nissan.

LOL you are hilarious!

I think the RM cars are basically identical to the Tuned cars from Prologue, but they will come with simple livery in GT5.

I just checked the Concept by GT list in Prologue:

Amuse/Opera Performance Gran Turismo 350Z RS --
Suzuki Cappuccino /Tuned --
Clio Renault Sport V6 /Tuned --
Nissan Skyline Coupe /Tuned --
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR Premium Package /Tuned --
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR /Tuned --
Lotus Elise /Tuned --
Lotus Elise 111R /Tuned --
Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car --
Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe /Tuned --
Chevrolet Covertte Z06 /Tuned --
Suzuki Swift Sport /Tuned --

SRT10 tuned got replaced by ACR I believe. Swift, EvoX, Skyline Coupe are missing from the official list. Even the 350Z is not there (under both Amuse and Opera Performance). Maybe they don't have Race Mod option, but their body kits are available for purchase?

I see there are different theories about what the RM versions are. However it is worth noting that four tuned cars from GT5 Prologue come with an RM kit in GT5 while the rest of the PD tuned cars from GT5 Prologue seem to be entirely gone. Something that indicates that PD tunes cars and RM versions may not be the same.

As already mentioned, the Viper ACR should not be confused with the tuned version in GT5 Prologue. The 350Z is on the official list under "Gran Turismo".

instead of

Proof that any one vehicle of any type has occupied resources of any form (time, disc space) that could have been used by any other vehicle of any type, please.

Anyone want to explain why the list is complete, yet only contains 906 cars? 👍

is it becouse there are over 100 cars that havent been revealed yet? :D

Exactly my point: Europeans will miss "their" cars.

Is that really all you could extract from my post...? I get the impression you're a lot smarter than that.

And who cares about getting the game hours earlier or whatever?

I think it's obvious that they don't need to spend too much time including different premium versions of the same cars. Just because a GT Academy version of the GT-R is included it does not mean that the time spent on adding that car would correspond to the time it would take to upgrade the Countach from standard to premium. Far from it actually.

Why won't Americans or Japanese miss "our" cars? Would an American enjoy driving a Focus RS in GT5 less than an Italian?

Is that really all you could extract from my post...?

Yep.

So what, "x" car you like doesn't get in the game. They can't make the game please everyone. There's bound to be cars - even whole types of car - that they can't include for whatever reason. Are you required to buy the game? No. Are you going to buy the game anyway? That depends if the absence of "x" is a deal-breaker to you.

We've known GT5's car list would be 830 standards from GT4 & GTPSP, and 170 premiums as updates, GT5P cars or new ones since last October. Why the big surprise?

And who cares about getting the game hours earlier or whatever?

You go watch the news to see them all queueing up outside games stores a week ahead of time for a midnight opening. Have a look at all the people who've paid £7 to Amazon - 20% of the game's value - to have it delivered on the release date. Then ask me that question again.

Europe hasn't been gypped. We get the same carlist as everyone else (for the first time - previously ours has been the biggest and the smallest), we get the game earlier than anyone else and we get far cooler limited editions, if springing £150 on a game is your thing.

Why won't Americans or Japanese miss "our" cars? Would an American enjoy driving a Focus RS in GT5 less than an Italian?

We will miss "our" cars more, because we know them better and are more used to them. Obviously.
That's not to say that Americans or Japanese would enjoy them less than we, but indeed they will not miss them as much, for the reason above.

And yes, they obviously can't please everyone, but it's clear that there's almost nothing new in the hot hatch department since GT5P.

And you really think that is important or even reasonable?

That's true.... but this doesn't change the main fact: there aren't enough hatchbacks, all my hope for a DLC then....

And you really think that is important or even reasonable?

When you ask "who cares about getting the game hours earlier or whatever?" and people will queue for a week or pay a 20% premium to get the game a few hours earlier, yes.
