I honestly don't believe 'Spec2' will be as ground breaking as some people are making it out to be...yes it improves GT5 but FM4 still seems to be making all the right noises from the get go.

(Note, I'm no Forza fanboy...)

As did FM3, FM2, and FM1.

Anyway, let's keep this about GT5.👍

The pictures I posted are the N24 and VLN versions, which aren't categorized by the FIA. They are kinda comparable to GT3 I think. The one above should be the one we get with 2.0, it's the car Yamauchi drove.

EDIT: In the 24h race they drove in the class SP8 T, which means GT2 cars and less, they are usually a lot slower than the highest class SP9, which includes FIA GT3 cars, because of restrictions.

GT3 cars are a bit faster than the GT2... at least have more horsepower and less weight (almost the same but theres a little diference).... and have aids (TC and ABS) also and I beleave GT2 doesnt

GT3 - BoP'd series with cars being mostly built around a power to weight ratio. They're not lighter (R8 LMS & MP4-12C GT3 for example weigh 1300kg vs GTE minimum of 1245kg) but are generally 500hp+ whereas GTE cars are ~470hp.

Oh come on. That didn't sound like it was meant to be offensive or nasty, so no one would call you out.

What I disagree with your reply is, "...but FM4 still seems to be making all the right noises from the get go."

What does FM4 having what it has from the get-go have to do with anything? This isn't the "Anyone planning to drop GT5?" thread.

So, yes, I'm attacking you. And that's a joke.

But like I said, the GT-R isn't categorized by the FIA (there is a FIA GT3 Nissan GT-R now in real life too by the way). There are also cars like a Audi RS4 in that class, which definitely is not a GT2 car. ;)

EDIT: Kinda curious now if we will get the real N24 from Schulze Motorsport, or if that RM looking one will "replace" it.

As the Forza Developers will stop at nothing to get ahead of GT5, which is pretty sad..

Yup but that belongs in a different discussion thread.

I'm liking the cockpit for standard cars however, can finally use some of those old LMP's and GT cars :D

I hope they categorize the dealership(not likeley) into Super GT, Nascar, concept, road cars etc. Makes things easier for me.

Also I hope they up the car roster for SuperGT as they did with Nascar. Some brilliant cars in the series.
It'll probably just be better if there's a way of searching through the cars like the Garage is set up. Same style that the dealership has now, but with Sorting lists. In that case, have a list for types of cars. DING DING DING DING

Those might not be but for example the Corvette

GT3
Horse power 515 bhp EDIT: new specs 560bhp
Dry weight 1210kg EDIT: new specs 1270kg
GT2
Horse power 470 bhp
Dry weight 1245kg

So the GT3 cars can have more power and less weight than the GT2... even though the series is built around power to weight ratio

EDIT: seems you might be right... I had the old specs (2006) just seen the 2010 specs and the car weights more 25kg... but GT3 cars still have a better power to weight ratio than GT2...

EDIT2: seems I was right after all the BMW Z4 GT3 weights 1180 kg

I beat you all! I got 55mb of internet! It will just take me a couple of minutes to download it.....

Sadly I don't have a PS3 anymore.

Nice joke....end of last year the GT3 Vette's were something like 1340kg and had the smallest restrictors by atleast 1mm. They may have been the spec you've quoted but that would have been before any FIA official got a hold of it.

GT3 was meant to be a cheap 'amateur' class for drivers to get noticed and move up the sportscar ranks. GT3 series' are usually the top national level for amateur sportscar racing but it's evolved into something alot more serious and expensive since it started around 2006.

I’d say around 500–750 MB. I don’t know what people are doing with PS3s when their Internet is slow enough to raise an issue on how big an update is…

…then again, it’s not like CoD updates that are 50 kB altogether. That and their updates cost you $60…

Check it for yourself if you dont believe me, instead of something like you get the real deal...

http://gt3europe.com/teaminfo.php?teamname=Callaway+Competition FIA GT3 official site... I dont see them missing it on their own site....

And check team need for speed and you can see that the power to weight ratio is diferent on all cars and that the BMW weights less than 1200kg...

No joke... just facts

The greatest thing about this update is that PD shows that is listening to the fans.
Yes it goes with slow paces (in our world), but (IMO) it is more than obvious that they are working really hard, they never stopped working on it and eventually GT5 will be (like the previous GT's) a Racing Game like no other.

Note***Always have in mind what difficult times japan had this year and still isnt at a tip-top condition.***

These are official figures (don't trust SRO websites as they're usually just rough as uncut timber) for the BoP of FIA GT3 Europe and ADAC GT Masters:

BMW Z4
FIA GT3: 1x85mm / 1245kg (1210kg at the start of the season)
ADAC: 1x85mm / 1225kg

Corvette Z06 GT3
FIA GT3: 1x49mm / 1350kg
ADAC: 1x49mm / 1280kg (1330kg at the start of the season)

I guess they have it wrong in the Official FIA GT3 site :D :D :D and they have it wrong in corvetteracing.com official site also... :dopey:

Callaway doesn't race in FIAsco GT3 anymore and like I said, never trust the SRO run websites as they're usually wrong and almost always out of date.

Bit OT this discussion has become....

It doesnt any more but last year it did

And the Ford GT weights 1160 kg

And its so FIAsco that the GT1 series are going to lend some ideas from the series to make the GT1 series more interesting...

Ill stop with the OT now ;)
