But probably you're right, "racing car pack"...
Also, i was guessing... the "course pack " to me sound like new themes for the editor, not new tracks.
That sounds plausible, hope you too are wrong :scared:
I want us to be wrong *brainstorm*

I think that some of these DLC content (pack of RM cars for example) may be free to act as a "testing mule" for future packages...

Hmm forza 4 release 11 october...gt5 spec 2.0 release 11 october, dont you see anything strange? Either turn 10 wants to take customers from PD, or maybe its the other way around....well well, according to some gt fans, PD just happened to release the spec 2.0 update the same day...

Ace Combat Assault Horizon. October 11. Since that's my favorite series. I'm gonna say screw both games. ;D

but seriously. I'm glad for the update. More stuff for me to do since I have to restart...I hate YLOD :(

Seems like game developers make games easier these days to satisfy the fast living generation... When I was young, games were much harder to finish. Also look at FM4 where you have steering assists in sim mode... I heared that FM2 was the best or hardest Forza... Then after, it get easier and easier... So GT5 do...

FM4 doesn't have steering assists in sim mode. That conversation has already been beaten into the ground, and it was discovered that those the people saying otherwise, didn't know what they were talking about. Turn-10 has already explained what players were seeing.

Having played FM3, the demo of FM4, and GT5, FM4 has the most realistic physics.

The real question is which will be bigger: the 2.0 update or the DLC? I imagine new tracks/cars will be very texture-heavy, so the DLC could be quite big as well.

Not that I'm worried - I've got a 30Mbit connection, so I'm all set :)

I guess that it will be about 2 gig in size and will take many hours to download no matter what speed your connection is due to the fact that tens of thousands (if not, more) people will be downloading the update as soon as it is live. I bought the Black Ops zombie map pack from the PSN the day it became live and it took about 4 hours to download and that was about 2 gigs worth and I have a 50meg connection at that.

Reading this thread, it beats me when people say there should be more A-Spec events. What do you think the Seasonals are? And they appear to be permanent now, and one is added every week (as well as occasional special events, time trials, drift trials etc). I do wonder if they might start doing some little championships, grid starts etc. too but give it time. And perhaps the occasional additonal event for the DLC tracks. GT5 will never be all things to all people but what game is? It still manages to cover a lot of bases IMO.

Seasonals are NOT racing. Unless you can find me a real world racing series that someone starts 30 odd seconds behind the leader and has to get to first in 5 laps, whilst overtaking slow moving AI cars that aren't even racing.

And you win more than 400,000cr, and you can choose racing tires and they have only sports and you have 500bhp and they 400bhp. :DD

That's because it is. New RM cars appear to be apart of the Spec 2.0 update or the DLC car pack.

Can't wait to try out a rx7 RM. Fantastic work PD! Gone way past my expectations. Just about to fall in love with Gran Turismo again. :)

Overall I am very excited for this update. The one thing I thought I remember hearing before all this news, was that they were extending A-spec. Or did I read it wrong prior to this?

I think putting more replayability into it by extending and adding championships within A and B-spec (manufacturer races, rivals) would do this game wonders. At the same time, upping the level cap to 50 while tripling rewards like the Seasonals for the A and B-spec would also be great.

Don't get me wrong Seasonals are great right now and some are challenging, but they just seem like a big money grab most of the time and the rewards just aren't as cool as getting a prize car.

Also I think adding rims (and extending the selection) for standards is a still an idea I like and I hope they implement it. Why? Well, really if I watch a replay of some of the standards that have crappy hubcaps (i.e. 95 Eclipse comes to mind) it really looks terrible hotlapping a course. I just want the car to look a bit more unique while racing, is all.

But really, this update will have my copy of GT5 doing double duty when it comes out next week haha. So many new things to check out...its going to be great! :)

As if this massive update was not enough, I can also advise you of more great news – very shortly we will be sharing with you details of a forthcoming package of exciting DLC for GT5 that will include new vehicles and tracks plus a host of other additional new content. The news will be incoming very soon so keep your ear to the ground.
Great news!....I can't wait to know the price (DLC) so I can buy the right psn card As Soon As Possible...It feels like christmas today :)

The thing that still irks me about A-Spec and how short it is, is how long it would have taken to add more events. I mean they're just code, there is nothing to model, nothing to build, just some parameters in code setting the tracks/laps/cars/etc.

One or two people could come up with 50 odd new events in a day, and surely coding them wouldn't take more than a couple.

Even without new ones, they could have extended the current ones with more events. I mean they beautifally modelled the GT500 cars and then rather than give us a long, meaty championship of 10 odd races we get THREE races that aren't even a championship.

All the man hour on the cars, the tracks, and we get three races?

That is why I really want more proper A-Spec races, because they're so easy to add compared to other stuff.

Did anyone else notice that along with weather changes, you can now set the time progression? That is really cool and a feature i've been wanting but didn't think would be possible to implement. I'm looking forward to driving on Le Mans, with real time day/night cycles.

In this picture, why does it feel like I haven't seen that RX7 before? It looks to be Race Modded if anything...

Look deeper young one, in the midst of this race you can clearly see ( :P ) a race modded Impreza and Skyline (they have the GT sticker on the top of the windscreen).

As for this update, many things I wanted aren't in it but most importantly there is enough there to make me a happy man :D .

And finally, for the DLC Mr Yamayauchi, I will except:
Spa, Pikes Peak
Pug 908, Recent Audis, Lola AMR 007, Volvo 240 (preferably estate)

Nothing less and remember our organisation doesn't except failure.

Love all the replies in here of buying PSN cards. Nobody have enough faith in Sony to pop their credit card in? HAHAHA!

Looking forward to this alot, but i just hope we will get more events and challenges with either the update or the dlcs.
Hopefully more realistic (real racing) events.

¿Why I must care about the size?

I has downloaded game's demos larger than 2gb ... and I still survive :D

This guy is driving like a pro with street fighter arcade controls. What a joke
