My hippie van! Awesome to no end.

Anyone know what the music is that's playing during the X1 teaser?

Isn't that the sexiest thing you've ever seen?

Yeah, when I listed it on page 97 of this thread, I put it as a Boss, mainly because of the stripe, and it doesn't look like a Mach hood.

A quick google pic hunt reveals no difference in the striping along the side of the car whether it`s a BOSS or MACH 1. However a BOSS has a fully blacked out(square) hood, while a 71 or 72 Mach 1 has a more V shaped hood decal/paint scheme running closer to the two scoops. 👍

I re-checked the pics from the vid. It`s not a boss,it is defineatly a Mach 1. All we need now is to find out if it is a `71 or 72(they look practically identical in real life) and what the hell is under the hood! 351 or 429. The 429 was only available in `71,so that should narrow it down.

One thing I like: Engine rebuilds. :D

Plus, car trading is confirmed:

http://eu.gran-turismo.com/gb/news/d14589.html

You can also give parts or cars to your friends as gifts.

Whether this means there will be an online auction house and/or vehicle marketplace, I don't know. But it confirms something we were not sure of up until now.

That GT by Citroën may be the Racing Modification option, as seen on GT Auto screenshots, if they are just half the quality, it will be epic!

That is what I thought at first. But the official website that I linked to above states that it is a new car in itself.

The rear of the GT concept race car is absolutely awesome. One reason to use chase cam right there :sly:

Nothing mentioned about standard cars in-game though. It states on the official site:

*Please note that windshield wipers will only operate on premium models.

Does this mean standard cars can not drive in rain...? If that is the case, then I fear standard cars will not be included in GT life races, because the breakout session at TGS highlighted that weather effects will be random and you will be given a forecast before the race. Which means if Standard cars can't drive in rain, you can't have standard cars in career mode :indiff:

EDIT: Strandard cars don't have an interior view, I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that.

Looks like both body kits and racing mods have separate options. And we can custom paint bodies and wheels? It's no livery editor, but at least I know I can have a relatively unique car out on the field. Sweeeet.

The bare, partially torn down chassis could mean weight reductions or all the non-engine tuning options. I wonder where those, like suspension and tires, are?

Okay, I am now officially excited. My other PS3 games are officially on notice: they have up until November 1st to hold my interest :D

OMG.. i can finally paint the car and the rims to the color i want to!

The paint shop takes out my need to have five of every car in different colours.

However, I still plan on collecting one of every model of every year!

They have proper color titles as well...

I wonder if you'll be able to use other vehicles' wheels as well just like in GT4?

Just above the highlighted red bit, it mentions chassis and engine overhauls.

Considering engine rebuilds or maintenance was not possible in previous games, and considering the chassis refresh upgrade restored the chassis to it's original state, I can only presume that and Engine 'overhaul' means the restoration of an engine to it's original state

a.k.a Engine rebuild.

Ah- ok, so it was there in the text.
I wonder if we will be able to not only wear the engine like in GT4 but also actually damage it due to misuse/abuse/incorrect part fitting.

The X1 is clearly gonna be a car that focuses on reducing drag.
You can see in the pics and vids that the front wheel is covered pretty much completely, and the cockpit is very much covered too. When you look at the side view of the car, you can see it's a very fluid shape, aerodynamically ideal.

When comparing the car to actual formula/series cars, it should be a mix of F1 and Le Mans...

Ok, so, I know this isn't really related but I figured I'd ask here real quick rather than making a whole thread about it

Is the "Collector's Edition" on Amazon the same as the "Collector's Edition" at Gamestop?

I know this is probably a dumb question but I just want to be sure

i cant believe that VW bus is a premium.. it looks so plain on the inside..
photo11a.jpg

:ouch:

You gotta drop your previous notion of "Premium" when in the context of GT...
For PD/Kaz, "Premium" means highly detailed graphics for a car, representation of the original car in high fidelity... Not in the sense of "Premium" as expensive and blingbling ...

Why on that screenshot is there seperate options to 'choose paint colour', and then 'start painting'?

If I were an optimist, I'd be thinking about the possibility of painting my car with the new move controller!! :D
