I've seen that HKS racing controller before, but I don't think that it's such a good idea when it comes down to the accelerator and brake "buttons". When I used to drive with a DS3, I always used the trigger buttons as accelerator and brake, it gave me much more smoother control.

They actually work like pedals and are smoother than the DS3 triggers, you just have to get used to the different controls. Same with the "wheel" where the left D-pad used to be. It's obviously nowhere near as good as a wheel, but it's better than a standard DS3.

HKS DS3 vs SONY DS3 race anyone?

if i see in the future this stuff in GT5.....
i'm gonna burn the ps3 with the GT5 inside..
Actually, I would buy one of these, but I would throw it in my toilet, crap on it, and flush it down to the sewers never to be seen again.
I cringed. This stupid thing doesn't even resemble a steering wheel.
To me it looks more like what pilots of aeroplanes use.

Well I think this is NOT aimed for us adult drivers - but my 5 year old son will be delighted.:dopey: Surely worth buying if anywere near 40$. Since i already HAVE the move that is..

I'll be honest, I read the thread title as "more support" and got my hopes up for a second, only for them to be completely and utterly stabbed to death with a blunt spoon when I saw it was Move support. :grumpy:

So very true ^^^ :( haha

Exactly

... The Move Racing Wheel, as it's officially dubbed, supports LittleBigPlanet Karting, Gran Turismo 5 and a handful of other racing games.

It doesn't say "GT Only". If it did, then the problem would turn into, "Motorcyles! :grumpy:", or "Motorcycles! When?".

Edit -
SFW link, but not the website

It makes me laugh with Burnout Paradise, the game hasn't had a update since 2009!! (and I gave completed it, many times now).

Be a bit like playing Forza with Kinect.

Ooh. A Tourist Trophy with move support would actually be pretty awesome if they could get it to control accurately.

As far as this goes, I've got no problem with it. It's probably just for people who already own a Move setup and/or don't have room for a dedicated wheel, so in that regard it's a pretty nifty idea.

Will work well with the Motorcycle DLC Pack

Or Tourist Trophy 2? Making it necessary to actually lean yourself with the Move-function?
Dunno why people get so annoyed about this, it clearly isn't aimed at those who use a 'professional' wheel but just another alternative.

Instead of expanding A-Spec (as they did with GT5p), they devote time to this feature that should have been part of GT5 and Move Hardware from day one. SONY has been behind on everything in this gamin generation.

now make X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter, and there will be reason for people to buy this gimmick.

You're all going to eat your words when the GT Academy 2013 champion wins using the Move "wheel". :sly:

On a serious note though, I can see this being useful for people who don't have the space for a proper wheel, but there's a much better solution already out there.

I can see the appeal of using this for LBP Karting and ModNation Racers, but for GT5? Naah.

I have an HKS Controller and rarely use it. The manufacturer refuses to update its firmware. The problem is that it uses on about half the range on the throttle and brake. That is a major flaw.

Something like that Xbox Kinect, but instead of gripping an imaginary steering wheel, you grip a 'steering wheel looking thing'.

I'd imagine your hand would get tired from holding it up after a while. :ouch:

I wonder will it return like a boomerang if you threw it. :dopey:

obsessive rules
Gt5 is a simulator. Most people who play it are die hard racers. They don't know the meaning of "fun" in gt5 :)

Really!?

It's the computer racing sims where the real die hard racers are. GT5 is more relaxed.

Guess your right there, mind you I play gt5 pretty much everyday, I am at level 40 and always race in no driver aids lobbys so I class myself as a 'hardcore' player yet still think it looks kind of cool, doubt I would actually buy it but would not mind trying it out for a laugh.

This is a much easier setup and could be cheaper than the current popular wheels. It looks more modern and its small size and manageability could make it very popular

Finally, Sony has made the perfect combination of personal fitness and video gaming for the sim racer.

Even with the wheel's force feedback set to 10, it's not doing anything for my upper body. Now, instead of having to waste time with that morning push-up routine, I can just run a couple two-hour endurance races in Gran Turismo. I'm sure my arms will be ready to kill me after the first thirty minutes (bonus points for anyone driving an X1 with this thing). Now I can scream "eat your heart out" to all the people playing Mario kart as I dazzle them with HD graphics and incredible upper body strength.

Maybe to activate the gas, you can jump to the right, and to activate the brake, you can jump to the left. For those driving a manual, it could make heel-toe-downshift difficult.

960 degree steering will be fun with this wheel. Can you toss it in the air to get the spinning motion?
