Why would Polyphony approve such a product is beyond me... Kaz always fights for Realism in his games. This completely destroys the objective. It's great to get new support and features but this if anything is a major novality in it's own.

Tourist Trophy + This = FUN i think

Guaranteed fun imo

To my knowledge, this is the first device that will allow you to steer and lean independently which is vital for countersteering a bike and also, lean fore-and-aft while having twist throttle too. it's missing a few essentials for full-on bike experience though, but apart from those issues it's about time bike-gamers had a semi-recognisable way to control the games they love, other than this what else is out there? At last a step forward for us.

It's would also be good for karting where you need to shift your weight. also don't discount how accurate motion sensors can be for steering

Pros
At last a semi-realistic way to control bikes in modern day gaming
Could work well for karting
Most advanced bike controller available to date?
Will work for GT5 as well as other racing games in your collection
Keeps your kids chocolatey hands off your expensive leather covered wheel
Should be more precise than a DS3

Cons

No FFB (rumble only?)
No Pedals or brake levers
No hard mounting
Expensive with or without a owning a Move first?
DFGT better value for those serious about racing (cars) and who race for long periods
Looks ugly

Just MO

I just update GT5 to 2.07.
That, with the terrible sounds, and now this monstrosity,Sony and PD are truly lost.

I have no reason to ever play that game again, and thats a real shame as I DID consider myself a hardcore GT fan.

Maybe someone at PD reads posts like this and they get their s*#^ together.

GT?...I'm done.

Most of People don't even know that there is Tourist Trophy.
If PD ever make TT2, are you going to play with ds3? I really think with this we would have alot of Fun, leaning left/right at the corners and Leaning up for Wheelie and down to Brake better? ... HMM would be AWESOME

But!

This is NOT for Gran Turismo. WTF

EDITED.

Tt2 with a steering wheel? Maybe, or Sony may develop a new kind of steering wheel which is more like a motorbike and is connected with an actual twist function.

Sony needs to stop forcing PD into these horrible ideas and allow them to work on their game the way they intended for it to be. I really feel that Sony is to blame for all the additional crap they have PD do.

There is plenty of blame for both, let's be honest with ourselves here.

 :sly: Best workout equipment ever... Especially for upper body strength :D

@ most people in the thread: No need to over-hate on it. Sure, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but there's no need to be so spiteful over something :)
Besides, this was most likely made more for casual games in mind, like modnation racers etc

Given that this works for old games i am guessing its using some sort of wheel profile but emulates it. I dont think PD spent any time on this.

Its obviously aimed at games like LBP karting but i like the idea of flaps for gear changes.

I predicted this 4 years ago.

Glad Sony realised that this was a good idea all along, sure it won't be the same as a proper wheel setup but those take up loads of space.

As long as this thing has good sensitivity it should be at least be better than using a DS3. The funny thing is this could be done with just the SIXAXIS sensor (was used in the first Motorstorm) but obviously Sony want to get more money out of Move which has tanked hard since launch.

It'll be much more accurate than the other motion sterring wheels and sixaxis at least. I am still not sure if this is a good idea for GT5 lol but lets see.

Actually KAZ can't just say no to Sony as they own polyphony, I feel if he supported the idea he would of just gave us the six-axis function he dismissed as it was available already. If he truly supported... This though, he surely would have designed it so it was less ****ing stupid.

Because he hasn't done that exact thing before? Please. To act as if Kaz has no pull whatsoever with upper management when he's an Executive Vice President of SCE is ridiculous.

SA ≠ Move.

A lot less then allowing people to play the game with the DS3.

Honestly, I still have no idea why this is outright pissing people off so much. Can anyone actually explain? It isn't targeted towards anyone here, it probably took all of 30 minutes to implement, and it will probably bring more people to the game who can't justify dropping bills on a dedicated steering wheel.

Maybe but SCE is just a subsidiary to Sony. KAZ has made mistakes, yes. But this is more sonys fault. Im not saying KAZ isn't an EVP, I'm well aware but remember. He dismissed six-axis in gt5prolouge so why he'd let this system in, which is probably inferior to SA as it is already integrated and could be added ages ago.

Six-axis=move. If I remember right the transformers game used six-axis to control planes, it was a pretty good system. This, may I remind you was before ps-move.

To me, this is just a gimmick. Sony is looking at a way to increase sales for the MOVE and what better way than using one of your bread and butters. Kinda like GT on PSP.

Hopefully this wasn't a hard update for PD to implement. As a fan of GT, i'd much rather see them spending their time improving other issues. If Sony would only leave them be.

And until I see any proof of that (because, remember, this is the man who came out and admitted that he personally delayed GT3 by two months because he wanted to add something like three more cars to it from the 2001 Detroit Auto Show), I see no reason to believe that it is exclusively Sony's fault.

Because, again, SA ≠ Move. For starters, SA was less accurate in it's motion detection even than a standard Wiimote, which means it isn't at all accurate enough even for arcade titles. In essence, SixAxis was a complete piece of garbage that Sony shoved into the controller not even two weeks before the system's final specs were announced purely to try to take some steam away from the Wii's momentum. You can't even use the SA functionality that currently is in GT5 without constantly fighting it, and the only thing it does there is adjust camera options.

Move, on the other hand, has considerably more accurate and considerably better developed technology which has the benefit of actually working. Having used it and having tried to use SA, I can comment on this conclusively. Move works, and can be made to work for a game like this. SA does not, and is very likely why the functionality in GT5 is incredibly basic. Other than the potential ergonomic issues, if you have Move system that is set up right, I have no reason to believe that this won't be a decent alternative to a wheel/pedal set for those who can't justify getting one; and far far better than any SA-based equivalent would be.

Hopefully this wasn't a hard update for PD to implement.
Probably took no more than porting the current code that they use for the pre-DFP Logitech wheels to the Move SDK.

I have no problem with the concept itself. I just think it looks stupid. :P

Why argue with Toronado? I mean seriously he makes obvioius points with facts that show that PD is just as much to blame as the parent.

Once again as I have said here and the "have you move on to a better sim" thread, some fans just don't want to hold PD accountable.

It's my opinion. It sounds as if both can be blamed but Sony more than pd. all in saying.
