GT5's >MISSING< Tracks & Circuits [Moving on to GT6]

Why the hell did we get Route X and a couple of Kart Tracks instead of SSR11, Rome Original, Rome Night, Seattle, Midfield, RRV, Pod Race and Grindelwald??? Why PD, why? Kaz, if you're listening: CHANGE IT. NOW.

Sorry if that's a bit off-topic, I just needed to vent some anger at PD.

OK, enough ranting. There's two tracks in this video that I don't believe you've included - the fairly narrow tarmac track, with the grey Clio Cup Car on it, and the short but quite technical track with similar barriers to Laguna Ring (that hidden track in OP with the yellow Corvette), with a white MR2.

Also one in this video, the fairly generic raceway with the purple NSX GT.

Oh, and Xenn deserves more thanks here as he helped out this YouTube user with the codes.

^ Everyday, it gets more and more depressing everyday... :indiff:

^ Good thing you mentioned it. but I've already inquired MattJ155 few weeks ago and this was his reply:

MattJ155 @ YouTube
They are L_test1 and L_test2. :)

^ I haven't included these two tracks as of the moment. I've been busy revamping the list.

Also one in this video, the fairly generic raceway with the purple NSX GT.
^ Hmm, I overlooked on that one! :dunce:

-> But I've already contacted MattJ155 in regards of the info of that certain track. :)

Oh, and Xenn deserves more thanks here as he helped out this YouTube user with the codes.
^ I did! He is one of my highlighted credits on the 1st post. ;)

^ I did! He is one of my highlighted credits on the 1st post. ;)
Sorry, I overlooked that. Anyway, I've just realised, that track with the white MR2 was already in OP. :dunce:

Anyway, I'll try my best to keep this thread alive! I'll start by looking for any more alternative layouts from tracks.

First, this (warning, link contains some bad language). One of the pics shows that turn 12 of Seattle no longer exists, and a modernised version would have a loop in its place. I'll keep you posted. Also, on post #275 here (yup, your very own post, TVB), you posted a map of Seattle, along with Seattle Short. I could see at least two alternate layouts here - one would be slightly shortened, by using the first half of the short track, but not the second; and the other would take the second part of the short circuit in the opposite direction to usual, and also use the Southernmost section of the main track. Names - I'm thinking Seattle South and Seattle South Short. I can also see potential for a kart track near the former site of the Kingdome (now Safeco Field, around turns 13-16) EDIT - Scratch that - that area, along with turn 12, no longer exists. I have to go now, I'll keep looking for more ASAP.

OK, here's another one for you. There's already an idea for Citta di Aria Short in the OP, so how about simply using the other half as another track?

(By the way, I'm well aware that most of these tracks don't have pit lanes, but many GT tracks don't, and surely it wouldn't be too difficult for PD to add some)

And how about this - Rome Kart. It basically uses the other section of Original Rome, i.e. the small triangle area around The Coliseum. While not very good for staging races, it could be used for karts or smaller, more agile cars.

^ As of the moment, I'm creating Seattle Circuit '10 since you pointed it out. true_kiat created this thread at the GT2 forum. Heres a sample:

The white RS200.

Anyway, I can't seem to think of any more for now, but I'll keep looking.

Edit: How about a Tokyo Oval using the rest of the oval section from R246. Wouldn't be much use, but a nice addition.

i do not want to argue or make another wishlist, but imo gt2 remains the greatest gt game when we talk about the tracks.

Of course, i am strictly talking about the original courses category here.

In gt2 we got: Midfield, apricot, seattle, red rock valley, original rome, rome night, grindelwald and tahiti road. All those circuits are the unmatched pinnacle of original course design and versatility, still unmatched by all later entries - including great job done on el capitan or eiger nordwand or citta di aria (although cda is based on real-life location, thus is arguable is it an original course by definition, but than again also is seattle, so nevermind that).

I do not know will those tracks ever make it in any future gt game. But i would prefer to get them before any other real-life track or any other track pd can be working on.

Every single original course from gt2 is worth to be included in any next installment of gt game. All other games have real-life and licensed courses, every one of us have his own real-life favorites, but none of them are original or unique to fantasy that gt series is providing.

I really, really hope that somewhere at pd somebody is working on upgrading all those beautiful, unique and perfectly conceived legacy track to a hd glory. They really deserves that. Having them just as a distant memory - not available to all the new players - is really a greater loss to gt series than not having imola, bathurst or valencia.

+1 000

The white RS200.
^ Thats Lake Springs, and its already on the list. Although the L_test2 is a completely similar when it becomes to the overall design, but this L_test2 is more relaxed overall thus not the same track.

Edit: How about a Tokyo Oval using the rest of the oval section from R246. Wouldn't be much use, but a nice addition.
^ You could add that too! Lemme figure it out! ;)

^ I'd rather not post potential configurations of real circuits because it would clog up the list. Not to mention turning this thread into a wish list...I only post real track configurations that were featured in past GT's only... ;)

...unless such demand exists. :indiff:

-> Or else Monza will end up into 6-8 potential configurations/variations not to mention Silverstone!!! :scared:

How about a Hong Kong Short, which cuts off before the crossover, and rejoins after, thus cutting off the triangular section at the top. Or maybe I'm just getting carried away creating new tracks rather than finding more old ones.

By the way, in those links to the GT5 track codes, does anyone have any idea why Fuji is listed as Fisco?

^ Yes, I guess you're getting carried away right there...

^ I think its because:

Someone Random Person
Back then it was known as FISCO (Fuji International Speedway Co., Ltd.)

The best guess of mine is Fuji Speedway Course, but it doesn's make sense.

stands for Fuji International Speedway Co

I just watched the SEMA highlights video in GT TV, noticed there was a new layout for the Top Gear track. Looked to be driving on the runway, then some fighter jets come soaring thru the sky. Check it out, maybe a new layout for DLC?

Ok, I know these are already in GT5, but there's a couple of tracks in there that aren't playable under normal circumstances - Top Gear Test Track Drag Strip and Top Gear Test Track Drag Strip Weather Change. You can only play them in license tests.

I was gonna say it's in the game under GT TV, but I looked it up on youtube for you.

Link: http://youtu.be/leO4PaBJj6Q

1:14 shows the runway, fighter jets!

-> Smart_Roadster was right, its the TGTT Drag Strip from the license tests (only), unfortunately. And those jets were just sweet icing... :indiff:

Just realized, 1:10 looks like Tokyo R246 at night! (could be just SSR5, my eyes playing tricks)
^ Yes, your eyes are playing tricks, its SSR5. I almost did a hiccup and thought it was Seattle at first.

:ouch:

That shot of the Murciélago and fighter jets, and the one before of the Evo and Impreza, have been used in other videos, in fact I remember seeing them as far backs as late 2009/early 2010, when PD started releasing trailers. Everyone was so hyped up about the game, and in my opinion, it ended up a huge disappointment. That's why I bought GT2 again. I want GT4 as well, but PS2 games don't work on my model of PS3.:(

  2. Grindelwald
  3. Special Stage Route 11
  4. Apricot Hill

- Red Rock Valley
- and many more...

It would be great to see the race track (all variants) of Belle Island in Detroit, GP racetrack in downtown Miami (before they closed it), Sebring International Speedway (Sebring, FL), the VW test track in Germany, racetrack at NAS Correy (Pensacola, FL, US), and Bristol Speedway (Bristol, TN, US).

-> Resting for a bit...

Don't forget Seattle, that's a classic gt track!
