Irritating but actually very predictable.

They want all the kiddies to try the demo and like it so they make their parents buy the game. Yes I said "make their parents". Kids today rule the parents. But I digest...

So you wouldn't want the kiddies to get frustrated and rage quit, now would you?

So we have to turn it off so we get the game as it's supposed to be.

note: my mispelling of digress is intentional so don't bother pointing it out

I'm 14 and race clean and respect other drivers. I think your talking about all of the 8 year olds that got hold of daddy's game and went online right?

It really sucks for us real racers because then they're going to be running around lobbies screaming and driving the wrong way around the track.... As usual.

I'm quite impressed with the physics, so far. The graphical details on the courses are a nice touch too, as well as the responsive menus. It makes me all the more excited for GT6!

Also, can you do free runs in the demo?

Now how did the GT5 gt academy work? Did you have to get all golds to get the gt academy cars in GT5 or did you get them later on? Will it work the same way with this one?

Well, you can hotlap Silverstone as many times as you want in the 370z, and the international and national circuit in the 2012 GTR black, but that is it.

Given that GT6 isn't out yet i'm pretty sure the academy cars will be included on the disc and no need to 'win' them.

The lighting on Autumn Ring looked great but I do have to wonder if it's pre-baked and not a part of a full day/night dynamic cycle. It looks too good for that.

The GT-R is more fun to drive than in GT5.

I wonder what that locked event will be. Hopefully the deltawing...

Well, we've already seen the time change in the cockpit clock, which suggests moving time. I'd be very dissapointed if it wasn't a full 24 hour cycle with the addition of weather.

Autumn Ring looks so good! And the little details like the falling leaves, jets in the sky and the birds make it feel alive. Great job PD!

I love the feel of this game compared to GT5, I don't know why but it just seems more fun and exciting. I especially love how under heavy braking, particularly at the end of National Straight, the 370z seems very twitchy. I'm very impressed by the physical side of the demo.
However, like it has been pointed out a million times already the AI is deadly slow, and the frame rate drops can be annoying, however there is little reason to suggest that the latter will be an issue come release. I just really hope the AI gets treatment before the full game because I'm sure even with the pretty visuals and physics, GT6 will just become very stale from a single player perspective as did GT5.
Other than that, it's looking promising in my opinion. 👍

Also, does anyone now where you have to finish in the standings to access the next round???

You can access all academy events whenever you want (after completing the sunday cup and that other one which doesn't count).

Oh me likey a lot! I'm only upto the 370z so far but its a blast to drive, the way you can feel the weight transfer a lot more now. Hitting the curbs at autumn ring really unsettles the car on landing now.

Just my gut feeling, but I think they haven't finished their 'new AI' yet. So this is in my opinion just placeholder AI from GT5. As this demo is mainly GT Academy Time trial oriented it's also not much of a surprise to me.

I'm betting it's dynamic at this point. Go back to E3 videos at Autumn Ring and you'll notice shadows are in completely different places throughout the track compared to now.

Physics look like they have made a huge improvement. Look at the suspension travel and the realistic looking bodyroll. Quite impressed by the top gif. The leaves falling in the 2nd gif are a nice subtle touch.

Sorry, I should have made that clearer. I meant where do you have to finish in the current GT Academy events to progress to the next round of GT Academy, seeing as these current ones are classds as qualifying rounds.👍 Does this mean that that more events will be added to the demo for those who progress to the next round?

Oh I see. The first 10-20 I perhaps, I'm really not sure though. I think it differs from country to country.

You'll get an invitation for an event in your region I think.

The next round is at the real Silverstone. To get there you have to be in the top 16 for your region in the final qualifying event.

Anyone had a puncture from running over the kerbs at Silverstone yet? ;)
Nah but my GT-R got airborne (just a few cm) after hitting a curb too hard and landed about 30° turned to the left. I can't tell how it happened but it did.
