A friend of mine said it was improved for him but personally I saw no difference. They're still horrendously slow and they still cut you up if you're too near to them near a corner. :grumpy:
I thought they had improved as well. i think they're still 'slow' to give entrants, certainly the more casual one the feeling that they are doing well.

The AI didn't cut me up anything like they do in GT5 - so maybe you were divebombing the corners a tad? :sly: I though their collision detection therefore was far better, also they didn't give up as you started to pass them - just responded to your presence.

I certainly hope the AI will be faster in the full game though.

Skid Recovery Force - On by default.
Long and the short of it is, you need to go out of your way to set the game to realistic physics and that just absolutely shouldn't be the case.
I agree. After all its only hardcore racers will play GT6 and no casual gamers will play the game.

It's a disappointing demo. Everything I was talking about in that post relate to the full game.

Oh you've played the full game too. Do tell us more

awesome music!
Agreed!

only 2 cars? O.o :/ what a shame...
I see that others have already mentioned the GT-R Black Edition.

So...

Autumn Ring Short
Autumn Ring Full
Grand Valley East
Silverstone
Suzuka East

Got it, thanks! :)
Then on completion of the full track TT you get the 15th anniversary events at Silverstone International and Silverstone National. I like the latter a lot :) A third TT event will be available on the 29th

That's kind of like cheating isn't it?

You are not supposed to do it but loads do and you'll be fine if you just want to try out the demo. Although if you want to actually enter the academy you might need the demo from the correct store, I don't know.

I flew past the AI so quickly and easily it was hard to see what their detection was like and no, I wasn't divebombing. There was no need with how early they braked.

I am not mad, but I am disappointed. Why hype something and not deliver?

A demo arriving maybe a day after you expected it to is hardly "not delivering".

And it's down to the Playstation Store people, not Polyphony Digital.

I wasnt concentrating on the ai I was focused on the car and how it handles.

Im impressed cant wait for gt6.

hows that cheating.

Well your making an account for a country you don't live in and downloading their stuff instead of waiting. It's like taking a shortcut you could say. I just don't do it because "Ain't nobody got time for that"

- The new lighting system is nicer but shadows continue to flicker & crawl whenever the scene moves. I think baked shadows (perhaps 2 or 3 different times of day + night) would have been a better option over dynamic lighting for PS3.

- New suspension model is nice, but will not be a game selling feature for fence sitters.

- Frame rate drops remain irritating.

- People in this thread should not talk about "pixelated" or "jaggy" smoke, etc improvements - yet. Wait until you see weather.

- I'm hopeful that the online rankings we're seeing in this GT6 / Academy demo carry over to all car + track combinations for GT6. It was a sore point for me in GT5. I'd prefer to run time trials at a steady 60fps than race other A.I. cars with frame rate drops and this would really sell me on GT6.

- My overall view (based purely on the status of the demo) is that PD has too much work to do to make GT6 a compelling purchase for the average person sitting on the other side of the fence. People like me and you in the GTPlanet forums will buy GT6 anyway and I'm sure it'll sell well.

Who said you were divebombing, Simon? Not me...

I took it easy on purpose to see what they were like, so that's how I saw it. It's only a feelgood type event and I doubt highly that the full game AI will be so simple. That is of course speculation, but well worth the consideration.

Skid Recovery Force - On by default.

Irritating but actually very predictable.

They want all the kiddies to try the demo and like it so they make their parents buy the game. Yes I said "make their parents". Kids today rule the parents. But I digest...

So you wouldn't want the kiddies to get frustrated and rage quit, now would you?

So we have to turn it off so we get the game as it's supposed to be.

note: my mispelling of digress is intentional so don't bother pointing it out

Since you live in the USA, you really don't need a "foreign" account that much anyway. You can access most of the PSN content normally.
If you live in Germany, that's another story.
