GT6 Demo in July!

Overall I'm very happy with demo and the way GT6 is going. I'm just positiv about the whole experience the game delivers.
In 720p TV setting the game is running smooth in every view, just with 1080p the cockpit view seems to have massive frame rate drops. In GT5 that wasn't the case for me. So I hope the final version will be better, otherwise I have to play the game in 720p.
Can't wait to get my hands on the final version!

Edit: Did you notice the glitchy cockpit view on the first track with the GT-R? It's undriveable for me, because I can't see anything on most parts of the track.

The demo looks awesome. From the first race it was great, I love the new menu systems. I also love how they kept some of the music in the menus and the 'intro' too. From what I can see, the controls will be exactly the same too.
The body roll is very realistic now... I thought it was over the top when I first raced, but it's actually quite realistic. So far it's very user friendly with good guidance throughout, something GT5 lacked. Silverstone looks great as do the cars, and the new lighting engine really shows. So far the only thing I don't like is the sounds (placeholders?), I'm pleasantly surprised!
Also the new menu itself is great and easy to navigate. It's just so much better... finally you don't have to guess which button to press to get around. Plus you can get to options straight from GT Mode. It's also scarily close to some of the mock-ups in that GT5 thread where users made their own rendition of the new menus... but never mind.
Let's not talk about AI since many have already expressed their feelings about this... (fyi, it sucks) :D
Have fun playing guys!

EDIT: It also seems like the car purchase options will be expanded. There's Test Driving and a 'Gallery View', which I guess will allow you to properly see what it looks like at your own pace. Looking very nice!

EDIT 2: The garage is amazing! It loads quickly and there's a lot more ways to filter your cars. As well as this it is friendly to the controller so no more pressing the up button and going right or left. It's very Forza-esque in the fact that it's a vertical list but it looks very GT indeed. Loving it.

EDIT 3: Sorry to post so much but the loading times are also much better... it's only a demo I know but it's just blazing fast. Plus you can turn the driving line on and off through the pause menu as well as lower the volumes. Neat.

You're right. You can't. 👍

Installing now!

To those of you who complain about the sound in the demo, the hell are you talking about? What do you expect these cars to sound like? The GT-R sounds spot on. I've tried finding a proper video on YouTube to get an impression of how the 370Z sounds like, and while none of the videos that I found were of great sound quality, what little I did get, sounded quite similiar to what the stock 370 sounds like in the demo. The race tuned one i think sounds great, but that's all about opinion. As for the Leaf. Well, what do you expect an electric car to sound like? If anything, the whine of the engine seems a tad exaggerated in GT6.

Overall it's a general improvement, and has a much smoother/nice feel. I play on a 500gb PS3 Slim and have had no frame rate drops, as low as 15 fps anyway.

I hear there's some horrendously bad frame rate issues with the demo and it can drop to as low as 15 fps sometimes.
Well, horrendous would be stretching it quite a lot. To be honest, I didn't even notice it apart from once or twice early on and a couple of the TT position updates but after that it stopped. I played the demo for eight hours by the way.

I played yesterday and was put off by the amount of Jaggies on screen! how can you say Graphics is an improvement when there are so many Jaggies???? I don't understand, can someone care to explain!! or is it something to do with my slim PS3 on 1080p?

The Jaggies are unbearable.

You can drive into the pit exit at Silverstone really fast in the GTR and wall ride the right wall. When the car resets you reverse a moment.

The Jaggies are unbearable.

Put it in 720p and it works perfectly fine.

i would venture to say the jaggies are even worse than GT5, especially in the garage screen where it shows your car, the model looks worse than the one in GT5's garage.

The Z sounds pretty good in the replay from what I would call the "race replay" camera angle.

The low speed driving physics are much improved. I loved the way the sun reflected off the silver rim of the speedometer in the GTR.

Anyone else having fun drifting the GTR? lol it's not that bad at drifting. One thing I noticed is that the smoke makes the game lag or look laggy because of how it shows up.

Note to all devs, being thrown into a car in the beginning and made to go for a lap isn't interesting or immersive. Especially with aids on.

The physics are far better. Low powered FF cars (Leaf) are no longer on rails. I want to run the Z now, especially since the game gives you a trashy max driver aid one at the beginning, so I just cut the whole track (lack of barriers is helpful already) instead of torturing myself.

The AI is better than GT5's too. You need to be mindful of them, but they seem to care more about cars near them.
