The interview/sit down confirmed pretty much everything I was expecting, good and bad.

No point being upset this late in the game over this or that, might as well just be happy damage is in and they've made some sort of improvement to the AI.

What was bad?

Framerate, mainly. But I expected that after the GT Academy demo. It tends to happen more in groups of cars, so hopefully it happens rarely.

I don't remember any framerate drops in GTA.... but I hate the screen sections being rendered at different times on GT5, they are so ugly. The lines, what are they called? I should know this... but I don't.

One feature I am noticing again and again are the headlights illuminated on almost every car in trailers. Headlights are on in the picture of cars at Brands Hatch. I hope we can activate them ourselves on the fly.

Good news Jordan. However - 'Loading times for these races with full grids were also quite long'.

I hope they were playing on PS3's with HD's. I bought a SSD for GT5, so here is hoping GT6 is optimised for SSD!!!

What resolution were you playing in? At 1080p, I would notice a drop every once in a while, but at 720p, it never seemed to happen.
Dear @Jordan , I have just one question, have you noticed mechanical damage during the career mode?
A good question, but he said he didn't get to spend any actual time in Career Mode.

Looks good, and ok, the Aston Martin GT1 should be a good deal faster than those GTE/2 cars. Its top speed rivals that of lmp's of today. Forza has always been good with the looks but the cars still seem to "float" on track imo. Maybe its just me but compared to NFS Shift even, the cars look less connected to the track. The visuals are great though. GT6 is equally as impressive in that sense I think, which is crazy being on the PS3. Just hoping the screen tear is fixed or less prevalent. Cant wait for GT6, going to put money on the pre order now.

I was really hopeful for GT6 especially with improved AI, but having just played GT5 for the first time in 6 months and being bored in about a half hour I'm not sure if I'm gonna enjoy GT6 as much as I initially thought..

What? Because you're bored of a 3 year old game means you won't enjoy a brand new one with new features/tracks/cars?

I think most people are bored of GT5 now...

"Logic".

That might be the case, but really I was just getting bored of driving. I think it's going to be fun at first, but the recipe is basically the same.

Lazy to search but were there a talk about if there might be an exporting feature in GT6, the one that was in GT2, GT4, GT-PSP in regard of licenses, money, cars?

Digital Foundry analyzed the GTA "demo" and found that, at a resolution of 1080p, the framerate was moving between 60 and 50 in all views except in the cockpit view in which down to about 48fps on average.

With a resolution of 720p was stable at 60fps in all views.

Since then things should have improved but the number of rivals in the GTA cars was limited and there wasn't an abudance of alpha effects as can be produced in tracks with rain and that affect the performance of PS3.

In the same article, Digital Foundry also said:

"On the plus side, the tearing seen in GT5 is almost completely gone: tearing appears only in the very top line, so it's completely unnoticeable during play (and culled from our analysis video as a consequence). On the one hand, it's a very welcome enhancement to GT6"

How will the legacy of Gran Turismo be effected if Jimmie Johnson wins his 6th NASCAR championship?

It won't matter unless PD does some sort of partnership with NASCAR like they did with GT5. Freaky looking Jeff in GT5 was nightmarish!

Thanks for write up, Jordan. Still not sold though. At the earliest, I will be picking the game up at a heavily discounted price or from the used bin.

All I CARE ABOUT IS THE FRAMES PER SECOND!

Jordan
There’s also a very useful new feature in the game’s heads-up display called a “Blindside Indicator”. When enabled, a small red arrow blinks if there’s another car beside you – important information if you can’t see the mirrors in your preferred driving view.

Now that will be very helpful racing. 👍 Kaz.
