Hmmm, nope, this still isn't the GT vs FM thread either. Just in case people didn't see the warning in the Whining and Crying thread (or, more likely, are just ignoring moderator instructions), either take that discussion to the relevant thread, or expect deleted posts and infractions.

Posts deleted, let's stick to GT6, thanks.

Here's an overview of my time with the "full version" of GT6 at last week's Willow Springs event:

Thank you very much indeed Jordan... I really can't wait now...
AI info is really interesting... considering this is the full game hopefully we'll get it that way.
I remember a GT5 demo shown at Le Mans where AI was really challenging. Eventually GT5 did not get it. This time should be different.... wow!
At this point, an option to add AI cars to online multiplayer races would be very welcome.

After speaking with Taku Imasaki at the GT Awards, I can confirm that multi-screen support will be included in GT6, just as it was in GT5 (you'll need a PS3 for each display). 👍

... and a Gran Turismo disk for each PS3 as well....

Jordan, thanks a lot for sharing your impressions of GT6 at the Willow Springs event.
In your report you were talking about full grids: were these the 16 car grids everyone is expecting? Or are the largest grids available in the game only 12 cars (looking at the last picture of the SLS at Bathurst)?

Did you get any idea about the grid sizes in Career mode as well?

Yay! Silverstone Stowe Circuit!

Yes. I am very happy about that as I've been in a Caterham around Stowe Circuit and it will be great to compare.

Also the warning indicator is a wonderful touch and I'm glad PD brought this feature into the game, since we now see it used in Endurance Sports Car racing.

Completely agree. This feature will be excellent. I believe it is in iRacing.

It's too small to see, but they may have the sidelights on.
Too small to see? I can see them perfectly!

I think the 'power' of being a mod has gone to someone's head

Even Carnac the Magnificent thinks that's not going to go over well:lol:

If you have a problem with the idea of staying on the stated topic of a thread versus going off-topic (for which a dedicated thread already exists), by all means, feel free to take your concern to either Famine or Jordan.

World / Original / City / Dirt-Snow / Kart (?)

The last one could be custom tracks, but that would be weird as they are not ingame at launch
I mean, what about showing the rest of the tracks available there?

I have to agree with sepulturite. Only being able to talk about Gran Turismo and "that other game" in "that other section" makes little sense to many of us. I know that it can cause conniptions sometimes, but what doesn't around here? ;) Oh well, those with the hammer must be obeyed if we want to be allowed into their playground.

In any case, the game is shaping up pre-patched to be quite a sweet Gran Turismo. When those additions start coming along, the game will likely take on the nature of an ever expanding world. I'd rather have everything I want now, but I'm more than ready for GT6 with improved physics and more tracks and wait for he rest when it's solid. Who would want a Course Maker with say, one or two locations, and both of them be like Mt Edo and Tuscana? I can wait for it when Andalucia is good to go, and what goodies are included should make GT6 a seriously tasty early Christmas present.

Yeah, Carnac doesn't think that will go over well either. Let me explain it in layman's terms. Without some fundamental limitations to posting like "remaining on topic" every thread has the potential for being derailed into everyone's favourite bone to pick , like yours, Forza vs. GT. Seems like every thread you are in Forza is mentioned and we'd end up with a forum filled with off topic threads which would completely ruin GTPlanet and turn it into every other unmoderated website. Except it won't be just you, it'll be everyone else's favourite axe to grind popping up into every thread over and over and over and over ad nauseum and you won't have a single topic on topic.

This makes perfect sense to anyone with any reasonable level of intelligence.

Ever read the comments on Youtube? If you get your way, that would be GTP. I rest my case.

As I said in a post yesterday, and which a lot of people agreed by the looks of it, comparisons with 'the game that cannot be mentioned' is gonna happen every so often, that can't be helped. And as I said aswell some go to far yes, but a little leeway should be allowed, which doesn't seem to happen when your moderating.

I really don't understand the moderation politics in this forum. On the the one hand the GT and Forza forums are hosted next to each other and the GT Planet main page regularly features Forza news and thus forcing two competing fandoms into close proximity. On the other hand the Mods try to shoot down any discussions and comparisons about those two franchises without the use of any clear rule set. Sometimes discussions can span entire threads, other times just the mention of the name Forza can bring you in trouble. Obvious flame post are sometimes ignored, sometimes well thought out posts are deleted and all without rime or reason.

Its like putting two competing English soccer clubs on one tribune and then wondering why they don't get along, while also constantly shooting tear gas into the masses.

Please sort this out.

Completely agree with you. Thanks to the mods this place isn't youtube.

Good news Jordan. However - 'Loading times for these races with full grids were also quite long'.

I hope they were playing on PS3's with HD's. I bought a SSD for GT5, so here is hoping GT6 is optimised for SSD!!!
Yep, I was debating about getting a ssd for my ps3. Put it off thinking that the gt6 load times were now not a problem. So I'm now getting one I think.
