I have to agree with sepulturite. Only being able to talk about Gran Turismo and "that other game" in "that other section" makes little sense to many of us. I know that it can cause conniptions sometimes, but what doesn't around here? ;) Oh well, those with the hammer must be obeyed if we want to be allowed into their playground.

Well, of course you agree with it. Like @Johnnypenso sort of hinted at, if it were up to you, every thread would devolve into the same versus discussion - that is after all what you repeatedly have tried to do.

Nevermind how uninviting the versus discussion would be to new members, coming to a thread expecting actual GT6 news. Two clicks of your mouse button (or taps on your mobile device screen) will take you to the relevant thread. It's not hard.

As I said in a post yesterday, and which a lot of people agreed by the looks of it, comparisons with 'the game that cannot be mentioned' is gonna happen every so often, that can't be helped. And as I said aswell some go to far yes, but a little leeway should be allowed, which doesn't seem to happen when your moderating.

Comparisons are one thing - people making reference to Forza's livery editor as an example of what they might want to see in GT if it were to ever get that feature, for example - and have never been actively discouraged. When the discussion turns into nothing but pot-shots back and forth between fans of the series (because let's face it, for whatever reason, a lot of people seem to think you need to pledge allegiance to one "side"), it goes completely off topic in relation to what this thread is actually about. That is, unless you want to tell me how on-topic your post yesterday of nothing more than "burrrrrrn" was?

Again, if you have a problem with the suggestion to take a GT versus FM discussion to a thread dedicated to GT versus FM discussions, you're free to take it upstairs.

That post was a joke, anyone with a sense of humour would've seen that. And I'm actually a fan of both series of games.
And I'm sorry but when this site merged with forzaplanet what did ye think was going to happen? When 2 sets of fans end up on the same site then comparisons are bound to happen. Ye brought it on yourselves when the sites merged.
Anyway that's just my opinion, back on to topic! Nothing to see here! :P

That was technical issues due to a CFD only driven principle they relocated the building of the cars to his shop. For you to make the leap that it was politics to drop that without any evidence to prove it is quite sloppy. Also would you care to show me this 7% slower, especially when these cars were 7-9 seconds slower than the top cars.

Once again I'm aware of how this works since it's apart of what I do when I'm not arguing here.

No one is saying it would be perfect once again relying on one over the other doesn't yield nearly as close to real world reaction as both in unison.

I'm sure they did, neither did I deny this, but what I did deny is that a jump on the track is obvious evidence that it works to real world, when that has been done since GT4 which was way before N24 races by Kaz took place.

It also doesn't solely exist in a CFD or simulator as well, however windtunnels tend to yield good result or those that can be seen real world due to using scale models and changing perimeters. However, one doesn't out way the other

Did I say that at all? And if so show me. I never asked for all cars to be put through it but they suggest that CFD is used across the board which is just as bad as only using CFD. I wanted all tools of the trade to be utilized or at least talked about, which is why only certain ones were used. Also they wouldn't have to put all through a wind tunnel manufactures have that data just like the CFD and could pass it on. However, a simulation of aero applied to another simulation and that only being talked about worries me. The physics for the game have mass issues right now so I'm quite justified in this worry of "blah blah blah CFD".

No, your arguments give you no reason to be worried about them only using CFD at all. They can potentially get it wrong no matter what tools they use.

And I've explained why manufacturers windtunnel data isn't necessarily any good for the game (especially given the wide range of sources, methodologies etc.), in much the same way that typical tyre data isn't much cop for games, either. It's fine as additional data. You say you do this stuff, so you must be acutely aware of its limitations - which is of course why you do all three things with plenty of feedback if you want utmost accuracy. PD simply don't have that luxury (except with the N24 cars).

As for the behaviour being there since GT4, it's one thing to have greater downforce at one end of the car causing a rotating moment and quite another to not have that resolve in entirely the incorrect directions ("downforce" speed exploits!). It is obvious that the real car does not have constant downforce levels once it is at that attitude, but that's what was happening in GT4 and GT5 - the angle the car presented to the free-stream (in three dimensions), and the angles and distance to the ground, didn't seem to matter.

As for the politics, I simply don't understand what "pulling a Nick Wirth" means, then. We know more-or-less what we are getting here (CFD-led, partially wind-tunnel and on-track validated aero model), and if that was also the case with Virgin, then I don't see what the issue is. If it wasn't the case, that they knew beforehand what they were getting into, then it's not actually relevant.

Finally: 7 seconds in a ~100 second lap is ~7%. See also: 107% rule.
Is 7% too inaccurate for a computer game? I'd wager you could get away with treble that if it were uniform across all cars.

I found this on Eurogamer.

"Night racing has also been extended to several other tracks, with Spa and Laguna Seca getting the nocturnal treatment, and now there's a simulation of the stars that accurately maps constellations as they pass over. "The environmental changes that happen seamlessly according to the passage of time during gameplay is no longer just a recreation of a track,"

Must be a typo. Laguna Seca isn't stated as having anything in the confirmed track list

Let me explain it in layman's terms. Without some fundamental limitations to posting like "remaining on topic"
And what, pray tell, is the topic in a news and discussion thread? ;) Because we sure discuss more than just the latest news in here.

Well, of course you agree with it. Like @Johnnypenso sort of hinted at, if it were up to you, every thread would devolve into the same versus discussion - that is after all what you repeatedly have tried to do.
I'm calling for statistics on this, please. I have more than 5000 posts here, I'd sure like a breakdown of how many have a discussion of Forza in them versus not.

Two clicks of your mouse button (or taps on your mobile device screen) will take you to the relevant thread. It's not hard.
And it's.... yeah, over there, in the "grown up" section. Two games can be discussed in one side, but not the other... okay, I'll play along with this, because it makes perfect sense. ;)

Anyhow, this really is a weird place anymore, but I have a feeling that the euphoria from GT6's release to tsunami some positive vibe here, at least for a while, and the grinches to be less noticeable. Then hopefully, with the coming days, there can be saner discussions of GT6's good and bad points.

I honestly can't believe that's your response to what you've read in the last few posts.:boggled::ouch::yuck:

When I first saw it I thought the night race icon was a smiley emoticon on it's side:)
hahahaha, it actually does look like one now that I took another look at it.

So, apparently PD can't make up their mind on what tracks are going to have time cycles or not.

In the picture with the 2 corvettes in photo mode there is also the driver. I've seen the pic a few times but i just saw the driver:ouch:

I honestly don't get your point. Contrary to what Slip insists, I don't turn every post into why I think GT is cool and Forza is pretty darn nifty. I'm pointing out that I think it's quite bizarre that almost all discussion of Forza is segregated to the Forza section, and especially passing strange to me that you can only discuss the two games in contrast to each other in the OTHER section. Maybe this makes sense to you and Slip, but that's you guys. I mean, you can't even discuss sound issues dealing with the ONLY game remotely like Gran Turismo because it offends certain mods here. In fact, the antics between some of the staff and members here have driven some long standing members to wave bye with parting PMs. And I sincerely doubt you'll see a post like one from another member involving language like this directed to me:
Jesus, I've read some stupid things on this forum regarding the Xbox One, but you once again walk away with the award for the dumbest.
Hey, if I ever talk like that around here, which I have similarly on occasion, I'd deserve a slap with a trout.

But I know how the sherrifs run this town, and I am teachable, so don't worry that I'm going to be spraying graffiti all over the place. How many of my other posts have made you sweatdrop recently? ;)

Your problem is you think this issue revolves around you and it doesn't, you just happen to be one of the people that thinks the rules shouldn't apply to the things that you believe in. I disagree that you are teachable, because you've shown no evidence that I have seen that proves this. This particular issue comes up for you over and over and over and you just don't get it. Hence the very appropriate graphic up above.

Well, however you got that idea, that's cool. Have a nice day. Hopefully you're happy with your lovely instruction and be sure to reprove me as often as you like. ;)

You can see 5 pages on the top, and the first one is selected. I realise that it is currently in world tracks.
5 pages= 41/50 tracks, ONLY with world tracks we have approximately 40 layouts.
Fuji (2), Suzuka (3), Daytona (2), Tsukuba (1), Nürburgring (5), Indy (2), Monza (2), Laguna Seca (1), Silverstone (4), Mount Panorama (1), Brands Hatch (2), Willow Springs (2), Goodwood (1), Ascari Race Resort (3), Spa (1), Motegi (4), La Sarthe (4).
The number of layouts is theoretical, compared to this list there could be more (eg. Monza Junior, Tsukuba short).

^Is that a trick question?

If not:
Premium Cars:
- Mine's R34 Skyline
- Mercedes-Benz SLS GT3
- BMW M3 GT2 Race Car
- Nissan Z GT500 Super GT Race Car
- Denso Dunlop Sard SC430 Super GT

Standard Cars:
- Dodge Viper GTS-R Team Oreca
- Audi R8 Team Playstation Oreca
- Ford Credit Falcon XR8 Race Car

I spy.

- Nissan Skyline Mines (S)
- Dodge Viper GTS-R Team Oreca
- Audi R8 Team Playstation Oreca
- Ford Credit Falcon XR8 Race Car

Far back o.o?

Ok guys lets play guess which cars are P and which are S :nervous::rolleyes:

It looks like they didn't really done anything to the cars(the ones that were carried over from GT5) at all, but then again...this picture does little justice for me to determine weather or not the cars look better or have been untouched during GT6's development.
