The embargo is now lifted and it has been revealed that there is a new embargo for us! ( who even spread that monday embargo rumors....) :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

Kaz says : Races will resume end of the winter (in Australia). On this occasion, PD will announce something.

What are you talking about?

We race right through winter in all our racing series. In fact, V8 Supercars have already "resumed" racing after winter - Sandown 500 (13-15th September).

Where's the announcement?

I think Kaz might have been a bit Tongue-tied, I guess he was alluding to a Bathurst announcement but couldn't find the right words without giving too much away.

I look forward to Barthust 1000 next month, if new info is there which I'm expecting. :)

It's not complicated : the 7th track will be Barthust or Seattle.

I could be wrong. Maybe there is another track as Matterhorn but I doubt....

For some people that don't know what days the seasons in Australia begin:

Winter- June 1

Spring- September 1

Summer- December 1

Autumn- March 1

So, possible reveal dates:

Bathurst 1000: Oct 10-13
SEMA: Nov 5-8
Tokyo Motor Show: Nov 22 - Dec 1

Any other suggestions...?

According to Jordan there isn't a embargo

From another thread

To cut down on the confusion here, there is no "embargo" on any new content, at least according to the SCEA representatives I spoke with at the Film Festival. Aside from information shared during the Polyphony Digital tours and interviews, they decided not to use TGS to officially reveal any new trailers, screenshots, or game features. Don't forget that the GT Awards are coming up at this year's SEMA Show November 5-8... :) I will publish my interview with Kazunori from the Jalopnik Film Festival on Monday or Tuesday. I thought it was a very good interview and we covered a lot of interesting things, but Kazunori did not go into detail on any of the more controversial or mysterious features, of course.

Other suggestions are they make up their own events. It hasn't stopped them before.

Or they don't do events any more, and they just leak info out through traditional media advertising and their own website/press releases.

Or yeah, they don't tell us anything.

Let's have a look back at the year.

Silverstone - Silverstone was announced to be a new track
Goodwood FoS - the "Hill Climb" was announced, then we found out that through the "closed" presentation at E3 that PD are working on modeling the rally track, but might not be in GT6 when it releases.

They might say something about Bathurst at SEMA this year.

Pessimism taken to the next level, I see. It's funny to see the reasonable doubts, but sad to see how low people are Taking their expectations of not hearing anything else significant until GT6 releases. Yea, it's nothing new and not a surprise, but still.

Bathurst announced at Bathurst is pretty much a given assuming it is the 7th new track but we already know GT6 will have cars and tracks. When are they going to talk about the game part of GT6?

I don't think we'll see much in terms of how the existing features (offline events, etc.) look like in GT6. Nothing like that was done when GT5 came out - just a couple of screenshots like they did now.

I would expect though that they show something about the improved(?) course creator and maybe, just maybe, about the improved online features (event builder?). I don't think there will be significant changes in the livery department that PD would consider news-worthy enough to present them beforehand.

Other than that, new cars and tracks are still the things that catch most people's attention best, even if it's not what we might be interested in at this point.

We can only hope for another Silverstone type of an event. They don't have a record of doing that (only one 15th anniversay? lol), but TGS for GT5 was significant, although we know a number of things didn't make it into the final game even through updates. With Kaz completely skipping over TGS, even though he said we'll learn more at TGS, I think it would be careless of him to not hold an event. The least he can do is hold a private meeting with a group (or multiple interviews) to have them disseminate clarified and new information. A meeting and interviews seem more likely to happen imo now that nothing came out of TGS.

The last two GT Awards gave more information about GT5. This time around, we can only guess what the interview will contain about a game that'll release the next month. Now, if he skips SEMA...

Yes, he's driving for Sweden definitively. Look at the swedish flag at his racesuit.

There is indeed a journalist embargo, but that usually only gets lifted very close to the release of the game, sometimes even after! Once that gets lifted then we'll see articles and previews of the game. Keep an eye on IGN, etc.

I expect us to be "in the dark ages" until at least early November. There's always the possibility that PD will tease us with some screenshots and small bits of information to start driving up the hype closer to the release.

"Before the show itself, the opportunity to meet Polyphony's Kazunori Yamauchi was a rare treat that made some things about the Gran Turismo series that little bit clearer: the six wardrobe-sized wine chillers in Yamauhci's office, all fully stocked, go some way to explain how famously ponderous the series and studio can be, and why mere months from its release Gran Turismo 6 still looked far from finished (of the four demo pods on display at Polyphony's office three were still playing Gran Turismo 5, while the one playing the newer game suffered from a frame-rate that lurched to uncomfortable places)."

.....Doesn't sound very promising does it?

That sounds quite the opposite from other events, like Gamescom and JFF, where attendants told that the framerate is getting better.

Also why there would be a GT5 playing at a GT6 booth? Doesn't make any sense.
