That sounds quite the opposite from other events, like Gamescom and JFF, where attendants told that the framerate is getting better.

Also why there would be a GT5 playing at a GT6 booth? Doesn't make any sense.

Nothing makes sense anymore really, confusion is the order of the day it would seem. Still, if it is true then it's not a good sign.

Besides, the silence is deafening if you ask me. If features were implemented well and the game was in excellent shape there should have been more promotional "talk up" of such things in my opinion. And it would make good business sense to do so. But since nothing much is being said then to me that means they are baulking, and baulking means a lack of confidence.

And a lack of confidence can only mean one thing. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Hopefully we're wrong, because I'm in the same boat as you 👍.

"Before the show itself, the opportunity to meet Polyphony's Kazunori Yamauchi was a rare treat that made some things about the Gran Turismo series that little bit clearer: the six wardrobe-sized wine chillers in Yamauhci's office, all fully stocked, go some way to explain how famously ponderous the series and studio can be, and why mere months from its release Gran Turismo 6 still looked far from finished (of the four demo pods on display at Polyphony's office three were still playing Gran Turismo 5, while the one playing the newer game suffered from a frame-rate that lurched to uncomfortable places)."

.....Doesn't sound very promising does it?

When you have demo-pods in your offices, would you really put the latest build of a soon to be released video game up for public (everyone that walks into the office) display? It's not like that area will only be accessed by PD-employees.

I wonder what journalists write about the upcoming Forza 5. There's a lot less information about it than about GT6, but nobody seems to get their panties in a twist about that one. Don't get me wrong - I also would like to know more about GT6's course creator and online features, but it's sort of naive to think they're going to show parts of the final product 2.5 months ahead of release.

So it's naive to expect a game developer to show off parts of the final product of their upcoming and highly anticipated game at a games show??
Makes sense to me :boggled:

No, you don't put the latest build up. You put the latest game show/auto show demo build up.

What else are demo builds for, if not for people to play them? It's not like random people walk off the street into game developer's offices. Anyone in there will be at PD's invite.

No one who turns up to PD will be excited by the thought of playing some GT5 at this point.

I'm saying I don't expect them to show finished parts of the final product 2.5 months ahead of time. I also wouldn't want to produce a new demo every month, if I was in PD's shoes. I'd much rather have them use their time on the final product. Nevertheless, I was disappointed not to hear ANY news from TGS, especially since they had announced at E3 and gamescom that they would present something there. It's the worst kind of disappointment, if you have your expectations raised and then ... nothing. I'm getting the feeling they have just 1 or 2 things left to present and they don't want a 2.5 month hiatus until release day with nothing new to report.

You don't need a fully functional demo to show things off. Also after 2.5 years of development I'd expect most of it to be finished with 2.5 months to go.

Its a shame about the no news at TGS. I was sitting there watching the live stream a good while before GT was expected to feature. One would have thought PD would have used TGS on home turf to get GT6 in the limelight, considering that everybody is playing GTA5 and we have next get console releases before GT6 and Forza 5!

The part in bold is a red herring. Any semi-talented kid with some hardware off the shelf can produce a decent demo video in a few hours it's not rocket science. You can drop in stock intro's and exits and the rest is gameplay. Would it really take anything away from the game to have someone spend a few hours and throw together a video highlighting new cars and tracks, even just for the excitement value? Maybe it's a North American thing and I'm used to it, but I love it when hype and tension builds and builds. The tease is so effective. Little glimpses of dashboards and parts of cars and tracks to make the fans go wild with anticipation!!!

I suuuure can't wait for Jordan's interview.

He's already said words to the effect that there isn't any new ground broken in the interview so don't get your hopes up.

All I can say is that...YES; no more B-Spec mode! Thank god it's going to be optional again; I really HATED that in GT5.

That was sad....

I mean, they said the lowest would be 50x50 sq. km. but 20x20? And there is a possibility of it not being ready by launch? Why bother though people will still defend this to the ultimatum anyway...

10'000km² --> 2500km² --> 400km²
100% --> 25% --> 4%

I see, I see...

The incredible shrinking course maker...lol. Had they started out saying 400sq. km everyone would have been ecstatic. I guess it's all in the perspective:sly:.

Why so sour? Not like its 10x10 or even 5x5 you know. :sly:

Cause at this point I'm either expecting to get a 20x20 course maker a few months late, or a 10x10 or 5x5 course maker at release.

Even PD's promises should be taken with a grain of salt. You absolutely do not say that it will be at least 50x50 when in fact it's 20x20, and most likely not going to be there at release.

Yeah, GT6 just looks to be unfinished game like GT5...

Just as I figured, game is nowhere near finished!
Shambolic launch here we come...

Game systems should have been done now, with an open beta phase/demo at this time to stress the online servers!

There are a few things that I don't really like about where it looks like GT6 is going. It looks as though, we are getting a basic game, and the good stuff will be added later through patches. It looks like GT5 all over again. I am a GT fanboy, and have been very optimistic over the years, and up until now, but this is just getting pathetic in a way. Even the optimistic in me thinks that GT6 will be a half complete game at launch. I will still buy the game day 1, as there are many things that I want to do that should be in at launch. However, I am not too happy that we are getting a "Constant Patch Simulator", as where I live, we don't have the best internet speeds. I also feel sorry for the guys that don't even have the internet, so they are stuck with a half complete game, and will have to wait to buy an updated version down the road, meaning they might have to purchase it twice. I am still excited about GT6, but am still a little upset at the same time.

I found it intrersting how Kaz wants to make a "professional version" of GT.
