Is there something wrong with the servers? I hope it's not my console, (my end). I tested my internet connection this morning and it was fine so I don't know what the issue is. I'm gonna restart and reboot my ps4 and see if it works. I've only been able to do 1 race at Barcelona out of a mere 4.
Aside from initial matchmaking, there's no servers in Daily Races.

Did you do the things I suggested last time?

I agree, I typically QT as low as possible, normally TCS0, but in racing depending on car and track, I would go as high as TCS3. 3 will seriously impact your lines if you QT with it, but once you have the clean lines in the muscle memory, TCR1-3 in races will not impact, unless you start using other lines, as when passing, blocking etc . Not that I ever block anyone :)

Amazing time by the way!!
Thank you.

Funny thing is that apparently there was suspension and diff tuning with A this week and I'd forgotten about that and ran completely stock - probably explains why it was hard to drive :D . I see @Nebuc72 wouldn't let me beat him so I'm 2nd on my personal leaderboard now and since dropped to 224 global. Perhaps I need to play with tunes, though I may not actually get that much time to race this week.

saw you in a couple of those races! Well Done. In the first, I got punted early by the SR.B driver - go figure. That put me squarely in the middle of an angry pack of bees. SR took a hit, but I clawed back to P8.

I also saw your time in the 458 and decided to take it out. Knocked 0.5 off my audi time, drives nice! (Still at least 0.5 off your time, tho!)

Yea I did a quick time this morning and gave it a go.. I can def get around 41.8 kids are on spring break this week so I gotta fit in where I get in lol! Middle pack is definitely tough.. I fell in the middle two races and it was nasty work lol. Nice to see you the track!

@Chris30 Thanks for the kind words… you got it.. keep racing you got it!!

@skandiamannen thanks bud!!

It's just infuriating. No matter where I go these trolls are just magnetised to me. I am stuck in B/S because it doesn't matter how much faster I am when they can just ram me off at T1 or the next hairpin, or better yet, just crowd me out into the gravel and get off scot-free. I feel that my favourite game series has been ruined to chase the eSport market.
Let's be really self reflecting or candid here.

You are in B like the rest of us because we can't set faster times, and when we do we run away with it.

The reality is, if we were as fast as we think we are they wouldn't even be close enough to dive bomb.

I do a lot of self reflecting on this stuff and the punt here or there or muppet forcing his way through most of the time I can out drive these peeps so now I just let them past. Some are quicker, most end up in the sand and a small minority get shown wide ;)

Well I clocked in a 1'47.524 after 10 laps at the Barcelona QT session. I'm not where I want to be right now.

I started yesterday at WG in the McLaren, after trying out the cayman and a couple of others. She felt good, but I was off the pace, my 1:56.1 mainly placing me on spots 9-13 on the grid in C/S lobbies. I gave the Supra a run out after several months away, and was immediately able to match the pace of my efforts in the 650s, but she needed a delicate throttle on corner exits to avoid oversteering. Turned CSA on and wow, suddenly I could pin it out the tight turns, and took over 1.5 seconds off my QT, placing me 2nd on the grid in races since. The only downside is the Supra is harder on the tyres, so I’ve been opting to change them on lap 5 or 6, rather than a no change pit as I can do in the McLaren. Looking forward to some good racing the rest of this week, as the driving has been much cleaner at the front of the pack!

Holy crap! I don't check the board for a day, and there's 2-3 pages of new posts! I guess sometimes it's quiet, and sometimes it's not.

If there's anything you (my friends) think I might have missed, let me know.

I have a doubt. Do we need to worry about changing oil in daily races?
I know I'm late to this... I assume you're talking about "Sport" Daily Races. As has been mentioned, apparently oil does not affect the races themselves, and I would assume any qualifying laps you run while waiting for the lobby to start aren't affected, but I can't say for sure.

However, if you run stand-alone Qualifying laps:

then I'm reasonably sure the oil does in fact have an affect. I haven't seen anyone prove or disprove this, so it's just my opinion, but there you have it.

I would love to hear @Famine's take on this - I can't remember him commenting on this before, although since I'm old, it's possible he did and I just don't remember.

I thought I would do race A again but then found I couldn't pull the laps times of yesterday and trying to tune it just made it worse so I switched to race C.

I put down some QT laps and climbed my position on the friends leaderboard so thought it might be respectable and joined a race. It wasn't. You guys are SLOW! :D I started on P13. Found that most runners where using the 4C, which I was as well, but being at the back in a rabble I pitted first lap but then had no one to chase so my pace was off. Ended up 12th.

So I put down more QT, this time with the Supra. It's a quicker car. Next race, I started P5. Much better. I was running well in 3rd for most of the race after 2 in front pitted early and I was putting down good pace, but I wasn't entirely sure due to pitting and what not. Then I ruined it but getting all out of shape at the bus stop on lap 7 and hitting the barrier. That cost me nearly 5 seconds and I lost two stops there. All the pits worked themselves out by last lap and then it was carnage! Lots of desperation was to be seen. Up to that point my race has been serene (crash aside). I also lost time last lap as P6 in front of me was really slow entering the bus stop and I had to take avoiding action to not clobber him but that cost me as well. Then it got into a three way and a bit all over the place after that....

In the end I came in 7th. That crash, cost me a potential 4th looking at how the timing all ended up.

The two leaders were in the Supra. I was avoiding that as I thought it shredded tires. Is that the case? The 4C is very easy on tires and this was my result at the end of the race.

I'm thinking of trying the next race with the Supra. How's its tires?

I do not understand why i keep getting pit lane penalties at the glen. All i can think of is that your not allowed to even look at the line to hard lol i try to avoid it but i think i may have touched it slightly, is that all it takes at this track?

Yeah I think just the slightest touch near the edge will do it. I'm sure crossing the inner, right hand side lines are ok though.

From my limited experience with the Supra yesterday, I suspect the front left would be toast before the end. How manageable that would be I don't know, because I haven't tried. In some races where I took fresh tyres I held station after the pit stops were complete, in others I lost 2-3 places, but had better pace at the end than those who had jumped me (and I guess took no tyres), but I was unable to capitalise.

Does anybody have a tuning for race a or is it best to leave stock ?
I personally set the LSD to 5/8/5, that takes care of most of the wheelspin. I got my qualifying time down to 1:03.5ish as a result, and have found myself more able to escape the T1/T3 crapstorms. I use FILO's guide when tuning the suspension, I usually go for 2.5Hz all around for spring rates, 35/35 for compression, 43/46 for extension and 2.0/2.5 for camber.

Well, i suck. I am having some good fun racing though. Running the vette with a 53.8 qt. I could be getting podiums in the rooms i am in, but i can go a full race without mistakes
I gotta take the Vette out for a spin...couple others, too, like the 4C. My Gr.4 go-to is the Veyron but it destroys tires and I just don't have the pace to grab a fresh set without losing a ton of spots.

Barcelona has been fun. If you can survive T1 the first go-round, the rest of the race is pretty good. Starting P2 - 6 and finishing the same. Did get punted freakin' pounded once. Errybody just drove off and left me sittin' there wounded on the sidelines. Whole back of car was flashing but was able to dust-off and claw my way back up to P8.👍

Good luck!

Well I'm making the switch today! I think there is more room at Watkins Glen. Barcelona is more cramped when I am trying to overtake opponents on the tarmac. So, I'm gonna have to make a change that best suits me on the road. I'll try the Sciccoco first and then the WRX. Then maybe later give the Viper or Corvette a ride. I like the weather option PD selected. It's sunny with some clouds in the mix.

Race B is a no go for me ehen one of my favorite tracks is up. Also the farther away from road cars we get the worse my consistency and pace get. Starting to have better results. To be fair i haven't done any racing in a long time so shaking the rust off is a long process 😂 thankfully i am home this week so i can try and run a ton of races. As usual thier probably wont be a combo i like again for a few months 😂

Also, good luck to you my friend 🍻 and everyone else. May you all have hard clean racing

Trying to gold the lap attack at Barcelona is brutal as the Civil War, and that's an understatement. So I doubt I'll be racing a whole lot there this week. That's my final decision.

Jumped on daily race b for an hour on day off.

Saw the name M.Hizal...

Seems oddly familiar..oh it's the offline name in the campaign. Oh it's a professional gt7 player ...

And he's been beaten 3 races on the bounce by another player .

Bye bye fun day off 😂😂😂

I know M. Hizal, he is one of those super aliens that races almost all the time breaking world records. I would never be at his skill level. Never in a million years.

@newmedia_dev I'm trying my hand at W.G.
I'll let you guys know how it goes later in the week!

Someone hit the back of me yesterday at Barcelona which caused me to do a 180, I had to reverse and turn around to get back on track. That irks the crap out of me. Why do some rude racers do that sort of thing. Why not just go around me instead of punting and ramming me! I didn't even speak to him in the post-chat. I was furious inside!!

It's worth noting that not everyone online is always who they say they are...
