Anyone else think the penalties at RBR have been toned down quite a bit? They seem much more reasonable now; specifically at T1 and T9. No more is it "WTH!!?" and more like "Yea, I probably deserved that."

Perhaps. Could just be placebo after seeing your post but the last couple of days I’ve managed to keep my clean race bonus more often than earlier in the week where I would lose it to track limits embarassingly often. Could just as well be that I’ve found a better flow (I’m pretty bad at Red Bull Ring, tbh, it’s a track I find quite poor). Borderline moments before resulted in a fail I feel and now they’re okay. Sooo... maybe.

Speaking of keeping CRB intact, I had this moment yesterday, kept it :D:

Congrats for beating the meta with it. Crazy how fast you were in it (I know A+ but still). Also win with it while getting a couple of penalties also is ridicoulus 😅
Haha cheers, was quite the challenge. I'll upload the qualifying lap somewhere as it was that, that really helped. I had to literally maximise width of the track and staying in the power band in 3rd gear to get anywhere near a 1:28

Will admit that I didn't spend too much time on GT7 this week but the time I was doing Race B, was not exactly fun... After figuring out some things, I went down to a 1:56:6 on main account, which had me start around P10 - 12 in the 3 races I did. All of them ended in me being wiped out and finishing below my starting position.

Having almost gave up, I just set a quick time on 2nd account about 45 min ago, starting the race in an impressive P16 😂 At least this time, I wasn't wiped out, made up 5 positions during the race (was up to P10 by lap 3) and finished in P11 to end the week somewhat positively

Any clue what the races are as of tomorrow?

A: The Racing Kart - 5 Laps🤣
B: Group 4 - 5 laps
C: Group 3 - 10 Laps with mandatory Soft and Medium tires

Race A will be great 🤣🤣
Race C, no wallbanging penalties! Will that change when everyone works out how to wall ride? Or doesn't it work there?

I have noticed if a car ahead does give the walls a good knock over the mountain, damage can then make them vulnerable to a pass down Conrod.

Probably a stupid question:
Race C: There is no mandatory pit, right? So first race, I pit anyway but get a 1 minute penalty. Second race, I don’t pit, and still get a one minute penalty. Obviously there is something that I am completely unaware of…🤷🏼‍♂️

You need to use both the soft and medium tires.

@MetalApe No wall penalties? Damn.. don't need a wallride heaven 😒

OH MY.. I did not expect Daily Race A to be this much fun (exept for the grid start with check).

How do you start fast with those? Tried TC2 like in the Super Formula cars but the kart wouldn't get going 🤣

edit: Ok TC0 will do just fine at the start 🤣

edit2: so sometimes it goes off with TC 0 / 1 and sometimes it stalls. I don't get it 🤣

Well this should be an even more fun week. The go-karts are back and the setting is at Eiger. Yay, Ardegna's back too!

Why is PD repeating the Group 3 cars at Bathurst? We just had this combo a while back. I must be real super tired. I went to bed at 2:30pm and slept 15 hours.

I have done so much the past 7 months in gt7. I agree with what NAXEHT said about Race A. We should be able to buy our own karts and customize it any way we want.

Karts e. Alright I'm fine with that. Will see how this goes.
And turns out I'm having fun with it although the DR levels on the grids I'm in are iffy as usual and I'm playing on the 16:00-18:00 session but still the combo itself is fun.

Was able to do 5 sessions and as soon as I hit the high 1:09 qualifying time, it was pole position throughout the sessions I did but there was one session where the player in second kept me in check throughout the race and it was kind of close overall.

What’s up with race A limited to specified car and not open to the kart in your garage? It makes no sense.

Also I agree with this. It's a shame because I made a kart livery for kart dailies like this.

Kinda like the tire options at the mountain this week. I’ve often wanted them to affect tire usage with the multiplier, rather than regulations. So, a nice change of pace.

..that mountain is going to be interesting coming down the back side. Yesterday, at gv, someone decided to wreck me with a traditional door banging. However, with the unfinished physics patch, and after a couple hard bangs with a wall on the other side to help, this resulted in me getting big…big air. Like, i saw this jokers roof.

That was fun in vr.. 😂

Have been focusing more on Time Trials these days but Gr.3 @ Bathurst does draw me back to Daily C this week. The McLaren is ~0.8s slower than the old physics over a single lap mainly due to the slower corner entries required to not end up in the walls but I would imagine the metas (Supra, RCF) probably gained time over the old physics with their top speed/top end even more enhanced.

2:00.886 was all I managed.

Also did 2 races and got a very loaded field for both, with The Kei, Rory and our very own @GOTMAXPOWER - 1st one went horribly wrong when I accidentally bumped a GTR out the chase, slowed down and wait for his recovery just to be turned around by another guy behind, coupled with wall penalties and it was a lonely drive at the back of the field thereafter. Race 2 I was able to keep up with the field, just to get EATEN alive on the straights. Had a few good battles and close encounters with @GOTMAXPOWER and ended up 8th from Q7. Could be worse given my lack of race pace overall.

That is a great photo, the lighting looks real!

Got it, thanks. No mandatory pitstop, but mandatory tire change. 😄

Also: Wall penalties are absolutely on. They are just not very aggressive, which I think is great.
Just checked back my replay from the 8:30am race, second race of the day. And it does look like they're on in that race, I'd got my act together by then and ran a clean race, unlike my first race and pre-race practice.

Because....PD

But I assume it's to do with making chassis settings the same and that the early patch only fixed very specific parameters in the equations.

Bop not only is it a bit broken, it seems to have some oddities now with what it neutralises and what it lets slip through.

That said for a kart race 🤷‍♂️
