Just a word to the wise. The Honda is quicker for qualifying in Race C than the Toyota. I immediately knocked 3 tenths off my best with it. It seems to have better grip through the corners.
looks like Toyota's BoP check must have bounced for GT7. It finally doesn't seem to be the META everywhere. I'm liking that part of this at least

I’m on a PS5. I did see a T1 ghost in the last race I was in. But it was a pretty dirty room, so probably not 90-99 room.

@sturk0167 Punt this guy on site of you see him, the Blue Subaru ahead oh him as well. Both dirty drivers. This guy was still turning full right at the left apex of turn 1, purposely driving me off course after his mega late dive.

Then there was this guy, like what are these people thinking with these moves? Are they that brain dead? 🤷‍♂️

That first incident could be lag amplifying his turn. His turning left arriving late on your console could be what caused it.

Second guy, that happens far too often. But he's just doing what Beyond the Apex suggests the way to overtake is :banghead:

I think I'll stick to Forza tonight  (I have my ps4 pro hooked up for online racing, wouldn't see you and Sturk anyway)

@Sven Jurgens I need some help here.
I was hanging back, behind the Audi that was lagging. I braked early and only went through cars that were ghosted.

I was super pissed about this penalty. Usually, I laugh it off, but this one got me very much upset.
Do ghosted cars matter, or not?
Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh :irked:

I reckon it assigned the blame to you for that Audi that went off in to the sand, because you were the only car not ghosted!!

...and his connection looked like crap leading up to the chicane, maybe some Netcode issue

Had Z28's stream on in the background while cooking dinner last night. He was using a different car every race at Monza. He started from pole every race. The WRX went by the Ferrari like it was sitting still and that's no exaggeration. Lol. Think he ended up 7th.
The Mustang and Vette were at least somewhat competitive and Porsche wasn't much better than the Ferrari.
Did you see my go flying by him cuz of how good I am (or cuz he got punted off by someone else)? It's one of those two, but I am not telling which. I kid, I kid... Photo evidence attached.

One cool thing was there were some different cars in this race. You can see below, only one of the cars pictured is the REX.

My closest online race finish as well. One of Z's buddies, PX7-Groovestreet or something (also in a **** car, so yea...). He went wide thru parabolica and I was able to sneak up on the inside and it was a drag race. Got to the line .003" ahead.

That race had so much potential for me. Started in P7, made it up to P5 (not too far from Z and his online buddies as they picked **** cars for the lolz) and just got YEETED into T1 on lap 2. Car resets and I am now in P13... ended up finishing P6. So I made up nine positions in the race total. The guy who I was directly behind when I got hit won the race. Oh well.

It's the grey car, nr 14 that comes from off track, cuts in front of you, before going off the other side. You give him a little push and thus get blamed :banghead:

Nice mess there  And I thought Autopolis was chaos lap one haha.

I have resigned to avoid all cars, ghosted or not. You never know at what point they will unghost.

I haven’t enjoyed a daily race as much as I have enjoyed the race in SF cars at Autopolis. It’s a meritocracy, at least after the first turn and some first lap nonsense gets worked out. But it’s so damn fun. Really a challenge. I can’t see how people drive like that in real life. But it’s a riot in GT7.

Selective ghosting? **** me!

He wasn't ghosted at all, but should have been

About here the contact happened. Replay it a couple times and you see the grey car getting a speed boost as your speed instantly drops from 51 to 34 a few frames after the one up there.

Inconsistent ghosting as everything in this game :/ He was ghosted on the blue car's screen, didn't hit him, straight through.

Mostly I like it too, but it really needs overtake enabled. Otherwise the dirty air makes overtaking impossible.

There is a 1.5 - 2 second difference in my lap times between clean and dirty air in-race. It feels like you start to lose downforce once you are within 1.5 seconds of the car ahead. Very frustrating.

Yeah but I’ve been able to recover almost every position I’ve been punted from by just running clean. It is hard to pass but you also can run some creative lines to keep the pressure on people and then pounce when they bobble. It’s a game of chess in a way. I’ve typically only lost out to guys that were clearly faster than me. It’s a hella challenge and requires 101% concentration for all 12 laps. Made one mistake in all the races and it cost me 2nd place. There’s no mercy for any lapse in focus. I’m whooped after an evening of racing there. But had a ton of fun.

And re: inconsistent ghosting… I’ve learned my lesson I think. A guy (PSN ID “Ghøst” ironically) lost it ahead of me and instead of going around him after he came back on course and was ghosted, I tried to get thru him before he unghosted. Of course he did so just as I passed thru him so I got a 3 sec penalty and he took his position back after that. So I’ll think hard about doing anything other than avoiding even ghosted cars from now on. He was a clean racer btw and beat me fair and square.

Try a B race in the Mustang. You'll have fun.
It seems to be the most powerful Gr.3 car.
Thats what ibsaid earlier today, I had quite a messy lap and still managed my best time, a 49.3. Still cannot beat it though got the jag down to a 49.4 and did three 49.4 in a row with the z4.

Tried racing the jag as it has decent legs but I just cannot keep the rear from spinning under pressure, so went with thr z4, its juuuuuust powerful enough and is by far the safest rear end of any car with decent power.

Being matched in savage rooms, I can barely keep up with lower mid field, bit out of my league right now.

I have been doing daily B only, but I just did my first daily race C, and it was absolute chaos…
I qualified 3rd but I didn't know you have to hold the brake before lights out and got a 2-second penalty, then turn 1 became a disaster, I got punted from the back and a 5-second penalty. After the penalty line because I was slow and was a ghost, someone decided to go through me, unfortunately I un-ghosted the last second and was punted again, another 5-second penalty. The next incident happened when I was following someone very closely, he made a mistake and spun, completely blocked the road and I hit him, somehow no penalty was given to me. Beyond all these, I spun twice myself, the Super Formula car isn't tame at all.
Gonna keep myself away from this week's daily race C, just not skilled enough to race a Super Formula properly…

Just did a couple of lunchtime Race Cs. The first one was weird. Only 9 starters ranging from me (A+/S) to Q9 (D/D). By lap 3 there were only 5 cars left. 4 finished, I won by 1:01 and lapped the last car twice. It wasn't a drop split as I was coming off 3 consecutive clean races.

Second race was 15 cars Mostly A+ and A. Pole and I cleared out early and by lap 8 it was pole 3 seconds ahead of me and then 9 seconds back to p3. The leader then hit the barrier between the two right handers at the bottom of the hill, sustained damage but held it together. I caught him into the LRRLL uphill complex, where he proceeded to brake check me for a 2 second penalty. The replay clearly shows him doing it, no question about intent. He then deliberately obstructed me through the next few turns so I couldn't get ahead before his car repaired. I did eventually pass him into turn 2 on the next lap but by the time I finished serving my penalty he was back in front. For a super-fast A+/S driver it was some seriously disgusting and petulant behaviour. I race against him often, I'll know not to give him the benefit of the doubt in future.

„Adjusted the penalty judgement algorithm so that penalties will not be applied for minor contacts in 'Sport' mode and in 'Lobby“

I‘m a careful (if not sometimes TOO careful) driver that got annoyed over slightest“touch penalties“ that weren‘t even my fault and hope that improvement is a good thing. But i have a feeling it will invite idiots to drive even more reckless now…

We had this sort of fix multiple times in Sport for it to still not do much, so I'd wait and see what it's like in action first

Yes the minor penalties were not even a problem in themselves, they were just given to the wrong driver sometimes. Like in this weeks race B, cars bouncing out of control over the chicanes were getting drivers behind penalties when they touched their out of control car, if they penalised the off track/out of control car no one would have complained about these. The 1/2 second minor contact penalties should have gone to the car that was off track a second earlier not the ones trying and failing to avoid the bouncing missiles, it can't be that hard to sort out surely. :indiff:

Has BOP been fixed in the update? I miss the days down in Dr D lobbies when you had 16 multi car grids and you could use any car to win.

Also what’s this online time trial thing? Anyone dome this yet and do you win credits or is it win credits at the end of the week?

I do not think so*. The qualifying times did not reset, and I tried to run MR cars in Race B quali to see if anything changed with the cars I like to drive. It has not - the MR cars on TCS1 still feel like the FR cars on TCS0, with the weight ratios / toe angles still gnarled up. The manufacturers cup will be a VW/Subaru championship, and maybe that will force some change. On the positives: the curb driving feels much better, and your quali time now has a global rank attached.

The time trial is basically just that- run laps, see where they stack up. Not sure if there’s a payout but I wouldn’t guess it’s substantial even if you were #1. Unfortunately they chose Gr3, and while the leaderboard is balanced at this moment I suspect we won’t see many MR cars crack the top percentiles.

* - edit- it appears they are slightly altered? but not in a way that makes the non-viable cars more useful. i am not a physicist but i understand that adding 44 pounds to the subaru is going to create less issues than adding 400 pounds to a ferrari. it literally takes 20 seconds to determine something isn't right with these BOP cars, 20 seconds the developer did not spend

No BOP change and the time trial (there is only one) is BOP Gr3 at Suzuka. :banghead:

Also the AMG 16, GT-R 13 and FT-1 are too slow against the OP cars at Monza too. :(

With a heavy heart on my sleeve I welcome you to Thunderdome!

Yeah MR cars have taken a huge hit. I used the McLaren 650s and was decent in that car but now it’s just so slow.

Manufactures cup…I’m not a fan off the Bettle or WRX as I just struggle with them, but my fear is it could be totally pointless entering if they are no other competitive cars.

I like the global rank addition. I always like to know roughly where I stack up with everyone.

So time trial will be Beetle and WRXs again.

They should change the game tittle to Beetle Adventure Racing. Anyone else remember this game for the N64? Loved this game when it was launched

Evo is also too slow, at Monza anyway, could work somewhere else.

Also I should have said earlier but don't, even minor, cut the chicane after getting hit as you'll still get a short cut penalty and that right there is why there is so much chaos with cars re-joining. Well that and the utter terrible driving, there is contact all over the place now.

I got angry yesterday (monza is not good for my blood pressure) after a bump into the gravel at chicane 2 and watched the replay to find out what jerkish move THAT was again.Turns out, there was a third car involved, too late on the brakes and gave the car in my back a hit as well. The driver who started all this did stop and waited til i recover and could pass. That was a nice move 👍
Well,at least for me.He did NOT wait for the driver that gave me the bump as he was probably too deep into the gravel.
