Top 10 (11!) for the Suzuka time trial is looking really varied right now, it's super refreshing to see. Hoping the BoP is actually like this and a crazy meta car doesn't get discovered.

So BOP changes are now undocumented changes, you have to find out from Elite drivers on twitter (or keep track yourself).

You wouldn't notice the changes at Monza as most cars still can't compete with the WRX. I suspect the F-type and Mustang will be used more now though. They have also not reset the leaderboards which is a bit wrong if the cars can't meet the old lap times now.

I find that quite a good thing the BOP going unnoticed. Just means you have to try different cars rather than jumping into the meta and expecting to win.

„Adjusted the penalty judgement algorithm so that penalties will not be applied for minor contacts in 'Sport' mode and in 'Lobby“

I‘m a careful (if not sometimes TOO careful) driver that got annoyed over slightest“touch penalties“ that weren‘t even my fault and hope that improvement is a good thing. But i have a feeling it will invite idiots to drive even more reckless now…
This is a good move... I've said before: some incidental contact is likely in close, short distance racing like GT races, and so long as the other car didn't suffer a significant disadvantage, the idea of no contact or a penalty is silly. If you want to dock me a little SR... that's fine, contact 'should be' avoided. But you can't race close without an occasional innocuous tap and those shouldn't cause time penalties in racing. I actually really liked the last configuration of GTS penalties and SR rulings and while it seems like it would invite people to cheat, I think in faster lobbies it really encourages better racing and allows rewards to people who are fighting hard to overtake.

And most people who race me know I'm as clean as they come.

Cannot understand why the hurt the 155, it's very slow in a straight line already. You can see they have tried to help the MR and RR cars, maybe the 911 and mclaren group 3 are a little more competitive now? Most of the changes are super subtle though, surprised 9 hp makes any real difference in a 500hp class.

New leaderboards at Monza are Supras. Knocking off tenths of the old, WRX times.
It probably could have matched the WRX before, one was well in the top ten, so of course they made it slightly better, that makes tons of sense. At least it's not as easy to drive fast in as the other two, using it won't make everyone who uses it faster.

This is a key point, if the fastest car is a bit tricky, it adds something. I can see the stang being used more now, especially at monza, and people spearing off into the weeds.

I tried some laps in the Supra earlier this week and wasn't able to touch my times in the Mustang. Sample of one, often incosistant driver, though...

it is a bit surprising as they Nerf'd the REX and Bug, but didn't buff the Supra or Mustang. So I am a bit surprised the Supra is that much faster (or maybe it's not) and the Mustang is getting left behind.

I give PD the benefit of the doubt in their Dailies combo choices. For example, maybe they are using the straight sprint with SF at Autopolis for comparing pace in regions, or other technical performance impacts. I imagine they have a lot to learn with the data they can mine from Dailies and they may arrange them for specific purposes from time to time like BoP measurements, etc.
Another idea, as an example of why PD might choose such Dailies. (also key in this example: SF REALLY was racing at Autopolis this week!) ...maybe they want to calibrate the physics, by comparing GT7 player data to the real cars... pace, tire wear fall-off, etc. I'm sure they have lots of 'knobs' to turn in the physics model, and having a pool of data to base it on would be really helpful (in addition to what they must be learning from their new AI models...) (or applying to their AI models).

And here I was trying to make it work Last night before the BoP update…

Anyone else notice that the in race time differential in Race C is very broken.

According to the timer I was 1.8s behind the driver in front. Final result screen was over 8s behind?

This happened many times during the race. You could tell visually it was wrong.

There was no visible graphic lag or jerking. Everyone racing was shown connected at 3 orange bars.

This is not good :boggled:

just took about .9 off my Supra time, pretty sure it picked up a few MPH in the straights. I tested about ten Gr3s or so, and that’s the most noticeable difference. The MRs still brutal coming out of most turns, the FRs are a bit faster. Some of the people on my leaderboard in the jag have also taken a half second off. the 14th qualifier in my last race was at 1:50.2 (half A/B split). also, the TCS flipped back to 3 a couple of times, this only seems to happen (at random) in Race B. Wonder how many races that’s ruined today

as others have said… why on earth didn’t they reset the leaderboards??

Only time for one race B this morning. Was gonna do another but morning coffee kicked in and spoiled that. 😆
Finished a fairly lonely 4th, got one decent run out of lesmo 2 for 3rd but had no desire to go into Ascari side by side so backed out.

Noticed the changes to the WRX right away, not quite as strong down the straight and 2nd didn't seem to spin up quite as much out of the first chicane.

I must've missed this in the notes but did they change something with FFB? Had to bump it up on the wheel, not much but it did seem to feel lighter to me.

I thought I was going crazy. Gap said 0.3 but I was about 10 car lengths behind. Very strange bug they’ve introduced.

They've removed weight from the Supra, that's why it's going quicker. The F-type and Mustang have not changed so are still decent.

Yes, but I've gone from being the only Jag in Race B vs Beetles and WRXs, to being the only Jag vs all Supras!

Great....
The Supra had great pace at the Bathurst races last week, but I could still beat it in the RSR. Can't wait to see what the Porsche can pull out of the hat when I step away from this desk for a break.

I still think the 911 will be too slow for monza but hopefully now competitive at other tracks, i just bought a 997 so want to race it's big sister LOL.

Not too happy with people exploiting the new reduced penalty for nudges, guy did it 3 times until he unbalanced my car and passed me.

For even more pleasure, next corner 2 cars spin, don't ghost and I'm collected 🫤

Well what I see that you enter the chicane slower than a lot of the others may be because of the Nissan.. but the driver behind you with the WRX can do it much faster... and I can understand if there is light contact there.. Which of course is stupid, the driver who later stabbed into the track again, which wasn't a ghost, is completely off the mark... It would have been extremely frustrating for me.

Yes people are more dirty now since there are no contact penalties unless you full on punt and you can (sometimes at least) punt if you do it to a higher level driver than you.
Sideswipes, even knocking cars way off are still ok to do too. :banghead:

Punts are worth less of a penalty too, someone didn't brake much and banged cars off but got 3 seconds, would have definitely been 5 before, which wasn't enough if anything. :banghead:

Although the game did ghost a couple of punters who didn't brake so they failed at least. :P

Seeing how PD and Toyota are affiliated, sure makes one wonder...........

pretty sleazy! I think you’re onto something, because it doesn’t feel like any of the cars got measurably better. Even if there wasn’t the sponsorship element, it would seem like that’s the only car that’s any better after the update. Wish Ferrari would spend a little cash to get a hundred pounds taken off the weight

Until PD actually starts banning dirty drivers, it will never change. There has to be actual consequences to peoples actions, or they have nothing steering them from doing it again. Having to make a new PSN and pay for PS+ all over again would solve it easily.
Yes, sir. No matter what versions of the penalty system we've had over the past few years, people will always figure out to make it work to their advantage. It shouldn't be surprising, anymore.
