This has probably already been mentioned, the update has glitched the starts in race C. The light sequence has changed but they're not synced between cars in the race so everybody is starting at different times, the game is then correcting for those differences at the end of the race on the results screen. The race I've just done gave me half a second back to the leader at the finish. It doesn't sound like a lot but when you're stopped on the grid with cars behind at full acceleration it's going to cause absolute carnage. It's also going to upset some people who "win" a race only to drop to 2nd after the time correction happens.

Edit: Here's an example, I think there was a 2 second correction for the car which went first here at the end of the race

Did a couple Bs after work. Tried out the Supra, did a few qualis and wasn't able to beat my Mustang time. Did I think two races in the Supra and one in teh Mustang that were pretty meh. Start in the middle, finish in the middle.

Had a race where I was in like P7 and all the cars ahead of me drove off the track while going around Curva Grande... all in perfect sequence, like all the drivers had heart attacks at the same time. It was actually pretty creepy as they were all following each other into the gravel like lemmings. Was kinda digging it honestly as I went up to P3! Kept going for like five more seconds then the race crashed. Don't know if it was just me or something went wrong for everyone.

I was going to try a few more races at Monza tonight, but based on the posts here, I'm glad I didn't. I'm also unsure about joining the Manufacturers Cup with the penalty system changed. The racing was clean during the test seasons, but I can't be to sure that the abuse of the penalty system won't happen in the GT2 league.

I'm also about 3/4th of the way to A rank which we can FINALLY check with the addition of the progress bar that should have been there from the launch of the game. I can somewhat follow my progress on that aspect of my online racing. Of course, a site like Kudos would be way better, but who knows if something like that will come into existence. I would like to get to A rank before the year is over as a goal for myself.

Well there you go. In my first post-update race C I got a weird false start penalty from p3 as I started when I saw the other cars start. I assumed I had just been over-eager, but it looks like it was a sync issue.

This is just horrific by PD on the eve of a World Series. Are they actively trying to sabotage Sport Mode?

TGT users can’t play the game, DD pro users barely tolerate it, only 16 cars, penalties reduced have encouraged a lot more dirtiness already; that’ll only get worse, game still freezes and regardless of how good your internet is getting a stable 5 dot connection seems impossible.
So yes?

Anyone else notice that the in race time differential in Race C is very broken.

According to the timer I was 1.8s behind the driver in front. Final result screen was over 8s behind?

This happened many times during the race. You could tell visually it was wrong.

There was no visible graphic lag or jerking. Everyone racing was shown connected at 3 orange bars.

This is not good :boggled:
Yup!

It fluctuates wildly.

Also, and way worse I think, red lights aren’t always off at the same time for all the players. Yesterday I was starting P2, the all lights red paused for a little longer than usual but P1 started almost a second earlier. At first I thought he’d jumped the gun and get penalized but no.
And sure, maybe my brain took a pause and tricked me but all the other 14 cars started when I did.

Anyone else had this happen?

Ah yes! I wasn’t imagining then. Horrible bug.

When all the cars go off like that you know your internet has crashed, happened to me a few times in GtSport. As you found out it lets you keep going for a while until it notices and then it kicks you.

PD will be testing Daily Races that have no affect on DR and SR starting next week
Ah yes, let's split the online community even further! PD is completely out of touch, all they need to do is design a proper penalty system, fix lobbies and there we go, all good. Lobbies and meetings for casual play, daily races and GTWS for "ranked". Why do they seem to be on another planet?
Just my 0.02.

I like that!
I like the fact they have a DR/SR system as it tests your ability and makes you want to improve yourself but also I like the fact you can race and not worry thst a bad result will hurt your score. The only reason i have a second account is so I can try and test stuff and not have to worry about my DR score.
For me Im more bothered about DR then SR. SR you can fix within a few races.

Seems alright. I don't think it's going to have a terrible profound effect on the player base as people like to dramaticise. There's enough people playing for them to adjust matchmaking (crossplay/region) if needs be.

Hoping this sees shuffle races return! It's a good medium for them to be delivered through.

No there isn’t really, as it stands the only place you can get a solid race of all one DR lever is in the FIA races, or if you’re lucky, a daily at a peak time. And the odds of getting an all A+ race in a daily that’s not in EU is very low odds. So the only place you can get that is in the FIA races. Breaking the group up more only makes that even harder to achieve.

The test means you can start last and see how many cars you can smash into going into turn 1 and lose nothing, it's such a bad idea, could be a very bad idea depending on the track and car choice too.

Anyway I've got an interesting collision for the stewards of :gtplanet: to sort out, since the game does not care anymore. :mischievous:

The driver who loses out says the other driver punted them, the other driver says that they turned into them, who is right? Who should be punished (if anyone)? If so then by how much? Also was this an avoidable incident by both or is it solely down to one of them to prevent it from happening?

Have your say and maybe we'll all reach an understanding and learn something, although probably not. :dopey:

It's the passing car's responsibility to overtake in a safe way. They could see the driver in front making a mistake and they should have promptly moved to the left after the chicane. I don't think the car in front "turned on them", probably got wheel spin by touching the gravel with the right rear. I think the blame should go on the car behind. The car in front sticked to the racing line, didn't weave or block, that was just wheel spin.

I can, see video below, only next week it'll be on purpose.

I hope the guy at the front knows it wasn't me. No penalty for all that chaos caused either, brilliant.

How can this game not give any penalty for that bowling strike... They said they fixed the penalties that were being handed for small contacts. Apparently those were a bunch of small contacts 🤡

The one losing out is a bit wide and turns a bit more on the kerb, he doesn't turn in on the other car though. The other car is not ahead at corner exit and is thus obligated to leave at least one car width. He leaves almost no room to the line at the point of contact.

This is purely on the overtaker.

W...T....F?! Is this their version of getting a precipitation participation trophy?! So there is literally no disincentive for trolls to join lobbies and crash half the field out? Great.

Guess I'll be catching up on yard work this weekend as it actually sounds more fun.

Not against it either for the simple fact it shows they're looking at Sport mode and are interested in making changes and adding things to it, which is a positive sign in my book.

F1 2021 had a mode where you were basically in a race but everyone else was ghosted (didn't like it personally but I can understand its appearance) I wonder if something like that might be on the table.

It’s tough to get online racing 100% correct. Trying to police penalties on a computer game without a human reviewing each case your always going to have issue and problems.
The only way you solve a lot of issues I think would be damage. Rather than issue penalties give drivers body damage or engine issues that effects the handling and power for a lap or half a lap. The drivers who are innocent don’t get damage and can carry on as normal. Too many people benefit from punting someone off the track, taking the penalty and then can still recover to get a decent result.
