So the Supra, the way it drives, it is going to Meta every Group 3 race. It's not just fast, it is quite stable, that's a hell of a combination.
Glad I signed with Toyota then, lol. Meta racing is back! Yey!So the Supra, the way it drives, it is going to Meta every Group 3 race. It's not just fast, it is quite stable, that's a hell of a combination.
You're assuming, though, that the penalty system which we all know works so well would all of a sudden work for body damage? There already is damage that directly effects the car's ability to drive, albeit for like 30 seconds. The current penalty system can't decide which driver is guilty and which is innocent half the time, so whether it's a time penalty or damage it's all a moot point. It’s tough to get online racing 100% correct. Trying to police penalties on a computer game without a human reviewing each case your always going to have issue and problems.
The only way you solve a lot of issues I think would be damage. Rather than issue penalties give drivers body damage or engine issues that effects the handling and power for a lap or half a lap. The drivers who are innocent don’t get damage and can carry on as normal. Too many people benefit from punting someone off the track, taking the penalty and then can still recover to get a decent result.
Sorry yeah my point has come across wrong there. Yeah the penalty system in who it gives out penalties too is broken. Why your given a penalty I think is about right. Not seen yet how the new update effects the penalties as I’ve not been in that situation yet. You're assuming, though, that the penalty system which we all know works so well would all of a sudden work for body damage? You have to brake a smidge earlier to give you a shallower angle to exit the chicanes out of. I knocked 6 tenths of my WRX time after 15 minutesForgot to mention I did hop in the Supra to see what the changes felt like and it's a rocket off the corner assuming you get it to turn. I suffered with understeer the few laps I ran it. With a little more time I imagine I could figure it out and beat my WRX time.
Yea that's what I started to realize before hopping back in the WRX. Also trailing off the brakes too abruptly really unsettled it. That's with any car, but the Supra seemed to be a little more sensitive to it.You have to brake a smidge earlier to give you a shallower angle to exit the chicanes out of. Turns out you can't do that after looking into it. My mistake. Is that even an option in 7?
The test means you can start last and see how many cars you can smash into going into turn 1 and lose nothing, it's such a bad idea, could be a very bad idea depending on the track and car choice too.
Anyway I've got an interesting collision for the stewards of to sort out, since the game does not care anymore.
The driver who loses out says the other driver punted them, the other driver says that they turned into them, who is right? Who should be punished (if anyone)? If so then by how much? Also was this an avoidable incident by both or is it solely down to one of them to prevent it from happening?
Have your say and maybe we'll all reach an understanding and learn something, although probably not.
The one losing out is a bit wide and turns a bit more on the kerb, he doesn't turn in on the other car though. The other car is not ahead at corner exit and is thus obligated to leave at least one car width. He leaves almost no room to the line at the point of contact.
This is purely on the overtaker.
I do not fully put the fault on the overtaker in this case. Firstly, to answer the easy question, both could have avoided the collision:It's the passing car's responsibility to overtake in a safe way. They could see the driver in front making a mistake and they should have promptly moved to the left after the chicane. I don't think the car in front "turned on them", probably got wheel spin by touching the gravel with the right rear. I think the blame should go on the car behind. The car in front sticked to the racing line, didn't weave or block, that was just wheel spin.
My sense is no BoP is applied. Others have surmised that it is intentional. Same with no info on upcoming races. While it may be a bit paternalistic the game masters are discouraging us from practicing in advance of the daily races.I am at Kyoto trying a few cars to see how the new BOP is working out for Group 3 and jesus H, I have NO FREAKING IDEA if BOP is applied. Cannot see it toggle don or off anywhere in the wretched, bloated, useless menu system. Why is everything SO DAMN HARD to access in this game, it is such a fight, every damn step is a battle, the UI is insanely bad.
Rant over, is the stupid BOP on or not? I am just time trialing and the cars feel like BOP is applied.
Try Bathurst. I did one of those Mission this week and it was the 20mins pass the cars race. Was in the Jaguar but my times were pretty equal to last weeks daily. I’m sure BOP was off for the race as the car felt quicker round the turns in the hill but I found I was having to brake a little or lift off earlier. The cars don't feel fast enough to be using all their HP. I think BOP is applied. Monza, obviously, is poor to check a car's relative pace.
Like someone in this thread said awhile ago, there will always be a meta car, but this much of a meta is ridiculous. The current GTWS Manufacturer's Cup top 10 qualifiers. Not a single Porsche, Audi, or BMW. Can we get just a grazing touch more realism in 2022? No? Ok..🥲😥
The Gr.3 Porsche might as well be horse drawn. Although I had great success at Interlagos and Bathurst prior I had to (((wring))) its ever loving neck every single time. Don't even get me started on the Audi lol or the Gr.4 Club Sport . Truly sad.

Was having such a frustrating night yesterday with all the ramming on Race B. Was ready to call it a day and then had a really fun race.
Started 5th but soon fighting for the lead and was a close battle for the last 3 laps. I could have been more aggressive when trying to overtake but I didn't want to spoil the race after being the one begging for a clean event.
I made a little video to hopefully explain the start glitch a little better, or my understanding of it at least:
Yellow flags infuriated me.Someone said “you can ignore yellow flags 95%“
guess i should buy a lottery ticket today.3s for something that was not even my fault.I was in the middle of an overtake with pack in my back when that flag showed up…Stomp hard on brakes or send a prayer were the only solutions.I sent a prayer and lost.Well, someome knows very well that i‘m not a religious person 🙄
I've had a yellow come out when I was side by side with a car and though I slowed to make sure I wasn't passing them I still got the penalty, how on earth I'm meant to avoid that in the moment I don't know.Yellow flags infuriated me.
As you say 95% of the time the other cars don’t respect them and some how I end up been the only car who suffers by either been punted off or I pick up a penalty.
Would be better if a yellow flag is out all cars in the yellow flag zone default to a set speed.
