What's the deal with Race B and people constantly trying to bully me off of my line by pressuring their rear quarter panel into my front bumper? Thankfully I can dodge the penalty by lifting off of the throttle while they punt themselves off of my nose, but I keep wondering why anybody would do something so stupid?

You keep talking about cars with lower horsepower.... please explain what you mean exactly by that.... Because the races are BOP races and the power-to-weight ratio is adjusted as far as possible through BOP. And yes, you may be better off with a car other than the Meta... but the higher the driver class, the less likely it is that you'll be able to win with a non-Meta car.
What im referring to is bop hp of a car at 301hp vs the likes of wrx at much higher hp, its not a knock on car, just you can tell the difference on races that have longer straights, and you are right about the winning part with non meta, guess i was hoping pd would adjust the bop to make other lower tier cars more competitive even not being meta labeled, as i rather enjoy a variety of cars i use in races.. Maybe i will join the wrx group, but it seems the Gtr or alfa has been fairing well too, and someone said maybe the viper as well?

Haha I feel your pain. Happens to me loads. I find it happens to me just after the chicane, they start to squeeze you to right of the track. Or you get the others who just run blind and use mirrors or radar.
Wish the game made the radar a permanent fixture. On the Nordschleife track last week I used the mini map, but it was annoying having to switch to radar when a car got to within 1second.

Finally got the chance to run these today, a big thanks to the queen for the time off work etc.

Race A - kind of reminds me of trying to find an online race on HEAT. There's just not enough cars or laps to really make this interesting, why not go all out when they had this idea and add it as a fourth race with 20 laps and 20+ cars, it would have been more fun. Picked up a win though and a cheeky top of the friends leaderboard qualy time  which might be the only one I ever get so I'm not complaining too much.

Race B - Pretty standard Sport mode regular, I love this track personally and with the GTR at least, is all I've ran it in so far, it has a great flow to it and makes the Gr.4's feel faster than usual. The CoD is hell on earth as always which is why we love / hate it. 4 laps is about right for this in my opinion, a good little burst of a race. Not doing too well in terms of pace though I'll see what the WRX can do later tonight.

Race C - Among my favourite tracks to drive on GT7, very happy whenever it rolls around on Sport mode and I should love the combination but the meta is way beyond meta here. Loved driving the Nissan around, bumpy and real old school feeling, the Porsche was a bit more steady and had some pace, but the Mazda instantly took 2 seconds off my time, the acceleration advantage alone is bonkers. This isn't balancing it's pure bias at this point... It's not available to buy so of course replays look terrible on top of everything else. It's definitely trickier to drive late on as the tires go, but not enough to negate its ridiculous advantage.

Fair play to those who can post fast times and compete in the other options, I don't know how you manage it, I couldn't get close.

EDIT: Anyone else experiencing the game resetting TC to 3 sometimes? Very annoying!

I've run some more laps with various cars on Race B today.

I haven't beaten my GTR's 47.1, but I've equalled my WRX's 47.2 with the Alfa 155 & Merc SLS, both with time on the table. If I can get my best sectors together I should be in the mid 46's with the SLS.

I'll be using the SLS for some races tonight, as its the most fun to drive :)

Are the dailies dying elsewhere? I have been doing Race C in Asia and to be honest, it’s getting problematic. I think I’ve only seen one other A+ driver since Monday night. Pretty much every race is now just beating up on a bunch of B-D rated drivers. I feel bad about winning by over 20 seconds and disappointed that my only challenge is staying focused enough to not do something stupid. I’ve started running the non-metas but it’s still not been providing any really good racing. I sincerely hope this is not a sign of a longer term trend.
I think the qualy cheaters for this combo have wrecked it with their 3 second advantage. I have also observed the race cheat where someone zooms 10+ seconds at the start. The cheaters will qual at the front and if you want to maintain your DR why start in 10 place and suffer the consequences? It just becomes a turn off. Otherwise, I think it is a fine combo. My hot lap is at 1:31 with an optimal 1:30.5 but I cannot break in to the 29s.

I have done a few races and plan to do more as I am driving from the back on my new account and I do not care about DR in my new mental state.

I have tears in my eyes every time I see you all A and A+ Driver.... I "fight" me up from D/D with my main driver since the day before yesterday.. arrived in B/B yesterday.. Today B/ Had A and 4 great flawless races... then race 5.. the lobby was stuck, after 15 minutes I restarted the game... and then in race 6... well private distraction so I had to leave the race.. .. my progress in B is again lower than it was yesterday. :ill::banghead:

Race C is workout and a half. Trying to keep those things going in a straight line!
Found a decent quali lap time just before tonight’s race. Started P7 made my up to 5th before a car ahead served a penalty and as we got to the corner the difference in speed caught me out. Braked on my normal spot but the car ahead was slower so rear ended them. Wasn’t a huge punt but cost them a few seconds and me 3 seconds, they went on to finish P3 so at least they had a good result. I ended up P6 in the position I deserved. The top 5 were all too quick for me.

Chicane penalties seem to come and go when they like. I’m nearly going sideways due to a small mistake but the game still gives me a penalty as I cut the track even though I lost time in the corner.

Also why can’t Race A be every 15 mins? Just completed A and now have to wait 10 mins for the next race.

I initially came here to raise concern with Daily Race B, but I'm not sure I need to having just read 3 pages of people raising complaints about the filthy lobbies on this race.

I'm DR:B and SR:S and going into a few races last night I started to wonder if PD haven't adjusted or turned off the points, as due to some race related frustrations, I'd quit a few Daily Bs the night before. In GT Sport, that would have been a kick down to DR:C for sure, but I'm still DR:B.

Following that, I'm fairly sure PD have quietly nerfed contact penalties again, as I've been punted, pushed and slammed off of track numerous times, and the perpetrators have so far not gotten a single penalty. Infact the only penalties I've seen issued are for dumb things like contact with cars that are sliding out of control across track, or have pushed you off track/into a barrier and followed you (you get the penalty, not them).

I would sincerely appreciate it if, whenever PD do updates or tweaks, they can add a patch note that reads "Adjusted penalty system" so we know that for the next while things are going to be "difficult" for clean racers.

You did the right thing by hitting him. I had the same situation last night and sacrificed myself by going wide, got reset on the track with a 30 second penalty  It was fun watching everyone go by while crawling down the straight for half a minute :banghead:

Penalty zones, what was PD thinking (does anyone think at that place :odd:)

I also met a cheater last night. Since the chicane penalties more often don't trigger, he just skipped it every time, taking the 1 sec penalty once in a while but more often getting away with it. Also fun when your car brakes out getting on the gas first part where you get on the straight. A little wobble over the line, losing time, have an "ignoring track limits" penalty for taking a detour.

You meet some great people, you meet some miserable bastards. In my experience, race before 6pm EST / 3pm PST on the Americas server to get more of the former. 7pm-8pm EST is the dirtiest of the day. Sometimes it gets better at 9pm EST / 6pm PST however last night it stayed bad.

Definitely have seen some pretty dirty race B lobbies today, I don't know if the knockabout nature of the Gr4's brings it out of people or what but I'm missing those small contact penalties already as someone who mostly avoided picking them up myself.

Followed a guy into CoD who totally messed it up and went into the wall, I had the line to just drive past him and out so I did, next corner he is trying to murder me, for him messing up the chicane? okay then

I think that has something to do with it, too, because it's only a 4-lap sprint. In the last round, the players become more and more offensive/aggressive.

Watch my video a couple of pages back, 6 cars intentionally murdering each other and innocent drivers (like me) all race and 0 penalties. And to add insult to injury, my clean race bonus is taken away since I'm punted into a barrier! 😤🫤

I know that and unfortunately it can happen... I also have big problems with it, because I'm very impulsive and often feel the urge to take revenge on such unfair drivers.

But the bottom line is that I always harm myself by doing so... and I try to drive as well and as cleanly as possible and to keep my distance from such types.

The qtime rape at race C does NOT seem to be fixed. There are a couple of new people top of the leaderboard who even more abuse it.wtf?

Not gonna try this again cause i don‘t want to end up in lobbies with people like this anyway.

Hahaha promoting dirty racing are we 🤣 only joking.
I didnt intentionally go to hit them and I will always avoid contact if I can. It was one of those instances were you see them and everything looked fine you get on the brakes and both cars still looks good, and then literally next second I can’t even react to avoid them.

As for a cheater I’ve seen similar today on YT vid. Skipped the last corner on the last lap gained a second in but then took the 0.5 to still hold onto the position. We had this issue a few months back with the GT3 cars and they had to patch it. You would have thought PD would have eliminated this issue even before releasing the track.

I'm so angry with myself right now. I was literally a hair's width of climbing from B to A and did 2 races. Won my first after starting from pole (as below) but nerves were getting to me as I've been after the A rating for weeks so didn't drive well but managed to hang on.

2nd race started 9th and on lap 2 was already 5th, which I think was enough to finally get me over the line but nerves got the better of me and I out braked myself in the CoD on final lap, hit the barrier and finished 10th 😢 Still very close to A rating but I can tell the progress bar went down...

My experience this week:
  • Race B: B/S is a bit dirty at the moment (European servers). A big letdown since I really like the circuit.
  • Race C is pretty funny and require full focus, almost 100% clean races.
  • Race A: pretty boring but nice to boost the achievement of oval km.
  • I don't really mind BoP since there will always be a meta, although I think ACC does a really good job here.
  • My main concern right now with online racing is that I would like if PD implement a "daily" race that requires qualy time before the race (like the Manu/Nations ones).

Hmm, still not worth racing in dirty hour, it's still dirty hour. Just now the same Brazillian forced me off 5 times, I fall back 3 seconds, catch back up, same thing. Pit manoevered, keeping a nose in, pushed off, brake checking in corners (could be his 1 bar connection causing that) and not a single penalty.
I may have had 2 run-ins with him in successive races in Race C on Monday and ultimately won each encounter with him.

The first time I had just gotten by him for 2nd place when he completely blew through the exit of the chicane to get right onto my bumper on the run to T1. He didn't bother braking and punted me into the tire wall on the outside, and overshot the corner so much himself that the game reset him back to the entrance of T1 (even though it didn't give him any time penalties for any of that beyond the 0.5s he got for cutting the chicane - which he didn't have to serve until the following lap instead of almost immediately like usual). I caught him a few laps later and pulled alongside him on the outside going into T1, which I guess scared him because he outbraked himself and ruined his exit, allowing me to pull alongside on his inside. I took the opportunity to hip-check him into the wall, and also avoided picking up a penalty. I ended up in a photo finish for 4th place (that I lost thanks to lag), and he ended up 9th.

In my 2nd encounter, he started on pole but lost the lead early, only to punt the new leader at the bus stop. Again he didn't get a penalty for that, but picked up a penalty for cutting the bus stop exit himself. This time he had to serve it on the same lap, which allowed me to pull alongside on the outside coming down the front straight. He tried to force me into the wall, and I tried to PIT maneuver him, and we both succeeded in our attempts. He got spun backwards into the invisible wall between the track and the pit lane, and I bounced off the wall but kept most of my momentum. This time the game decided I deserved a 5s penalty, but even after serving it and dropping to 9th I was still ahead of him. I went on to finish 5th again and he rage-quit before halfway.

your definition of“almost“ is definitely different than mine :dopey:

I‘ve seen a lot of dirty things, got punted into the gravel 3 times last race. Not everything is really intentional of course but very reckless and aggressive racing. In cars that go lightspeed and are not the easiest to keep on track.Managed again to climb up to 7 at least. Most important rule is still, surviving the (1st) lap of death…still,it‘s fun and all in all i‘m able to bump my rating quite good this week.

I haven't managed to beat my GTR 47.1 time in the SLS yet on Race B, eventually i'll get all fast sectors in the same lap, lol

The SLS does ok online against all the WRX's/GTR's/155's, it's also much more fun to drive than the AWD cars. I've started a few races tonight between Techno in his GTR & BrigNT in his Alfa 155 and had some good races.

Sorry for the bump on the brakes earlier Techno, missed my braking point..

I’ve hit the DR plateau with race B this week lol. 1.45.93 qualy in top split starts me about 10th. I do a few races there and finish bottom half. Drop a split and that same time starts me pole. Get a victory and some juicy DR and back into top split. Round we go!

Same here. Ppl drive like tractors and just bulldoze you and rarely get penalties. I’m driver level c and it’s really dirty.

You’ve just explained almost my entire FIA race history lol. 😂
