Don't feel bad in 59 and out my comfort zone alot ...hold your line elbows out.
Mr. "Elbowz" Ben Spies would approve of this message. 😆

Can you still get hit/hit a car, then than go off track to avoid a penalty/give one to the other driver? 🤔
Yes. Someone straight up punted me into the tire barrier at T1 last night, but also went off into the runoff themselves, and they didn't get a penalty. They went so far into the runoff that the game reset them to just before T1, so it was essentially the same as a penalty. On the other hand, I hip-checked the punter into the same wall a few laps later, didn't go off track myself, and also avoided a penalty.

After about 6 races in A/S, I've dropped back to B/S , I'm too slow on daily race B to gain DR points.

In 2 of the races I binned it at the Death chicane, in the other 4 I made up positions, but with a 47.2 (WRX) I'm at the back, nearly 2 seconds off pole.

I've now got a 47.1 in the GTR, I think I can go a bit quicker than that with more laps, i prefer that to the WRX. I'll see how I get on later this week.

Was kinda bored so decided to jump into a Daily C, even though it didn't really interest me. Then this happened...

What? WHAT?! I am happy to eat crow on what I said earlier, Daily C is quite fun and apparently I get along with this combo pretty well. Three races thus far, a P2 (.800 behind P1), P3, and P1! I'll take that all day!

Nice. Daily C is a lot like last week's daily C. Survival from the pack and cold tires lap 1, then the wrestling the car against the tires the rest of the race. I've had about equal good and bad races. Launched from behind on lap 1 several times, then some good races where it settles and we can actually race for a while.

Did have someone try to stop me passing in the oval after they had a terrible chicane. They kept pushing me into the outside wall. No penalty for them as they were C rated and I was A. Still managed to make a gorgeous pass on turn 1 the next lap as they fried their tires.

Couple nice races this afternoon until matchmaking threw in the towel

Lot of close fair racing, got my FL down to 1:30.9 and managed to squeeze out a victory

I got back to DR A, steady S of course. Yet why bother. DR and SR just seem pointless when you get matches like this
Gran Turismo® 7_20220601165136.jpg

The C/B driver started on pole, obviously a DR reset driving steady 1:30 laps.

I already got to 3rd (from last) in lap 2, then it was just watching the gaps grow. #2 made a couple mistakes at the end allowing me to get closer but still out of range. Maybe there are more people on PS5?

I'm right around that same pace and B/S rated as well. Give the Alpha 155 a go if you haven't tried it yet.

Thanks I'll give it a try tomorrow, I've done well in the 155 on other tracks. I had a go in the Merc (SLS?) and was getting to the Death chicane split in around the same time as my WRX, I'll do some more laps in that tomorrow too.

I had a much better time tonight with only one

In race 1 I have an actual good race for a change. One car was all over the place in the top 5 draft line, like they didn't know where to go. Almost lost it but held on when they hit me going by. I then helped the driver who hit me to get back into contention for the final laps. On the last lap, P3 checked up and I did not react fast enough to avoid hitting them and that killed my momentum for the final push at the end. We all survive in one piece and I get a p4 finish.

Race 2 I'm in p2 but take the lead on the backstretch. I go too high into turn 1 on lap 2, and P2 takes advantage. They then hit me up the track and P3 then hits my rear quarter panel and sends me flying. Surprisingly, I'm the only one that goes spinning. I finish p9 in the end.

Race 3 was AWESOME! I'm on pole and get freight trained on lap 2 so I tuck in behind p5 and the top 6 are all doing some proper NASCAR style drafting for a few laps. We all do great until lap 6 where P3 and p4 take each other out and I'm the new P4. I didn't time my slingshot right and finish p3. Fantastic stuff.

Race 4 is more of the same. The driver I had been draft partners with all night had a great run out of 4 on the high side heading to the tri-oval on lap 5. While he got away, the driver beside me slammed me into the wall, but they spun out and got the worst of it. I get freight trained again thanks to the loss of momentum and fall to p7. 2 drivers crash on the final lap and 2 other drivers get penalties and I finish p3.

A huge shout-out to my draft partner all night. It makes a huge difference when others know what they are doing. I hope I can find another partner like that tomorrow.

Hmm, still not worth racing in dirty hour, it's still dirty hour. Just now the same Brazillian forced me off 5 times, I fall back 3 seconds, catch back up, same thing. Pit manoevered, keeping a nose in, pushed off, brake checking in corners (could be his 1 bar connection causing that) and not a single penalty.

On to the next race, hoping not to see Brazil in the line up. It's just in dirty hour, earlier was fine. RAXA and TRS are squeeky clean. But then you get some you haven't seen before, lagging across the track and you just know it's going to be bad.

Some things never change :/

Again, apparently walls are for ramming your opponents into, to slow them down. It was a laggy connection from Mexico this time, yet lag had nothing to do with it. We were side by side in the long corner and he steered into me as I came about even with him, me on the outside. This is why damage is a bad thing, he pushed me into the wall into a spin, 3 wheels, front and back bumper damaged. he just sped off, I'm limping for 30 seconds. This one didn't get away with it though...

I don't understand the driving in race A this week and why everybody wants to bump draft. Sure it makes sense if you're 2nd in line but when you're 5 cars back with the whole race single file its utterly pointless, having that many cars together means you're going to stall out as soon as you pull out of line. Last night I was driving the straights at half throttle from 3rd place to take some energy out of the front of the pack and get the leaders isolated, if the rest of the group reads the race right it gives enough of a slingshot to make the outside line work.
Well, there you go... thinkin' again!

When looking at the three daily races, A B C, in the top of the box that shows the A race, it shows that it's a BoP race and that DR/SR is not being counted (or something like that )
So basically it is as legit as a lobby race, does NOT count for a win if you do win, you won't lose DR points if you finish in the infield spinning because someone punted you, you won't lose SR points if you punt someone else off.
Just another lobby race
PD should stop this before it really ruins the Sport mode

Are the dailies dying elsewhere? I have been doing Race C in Asia and to be honest, it’s getting problematic. I think I’ve only seen one other A+ driver since Monday night. Pretty much every race is now just beating up on a bunch of B-D rated drivers. I feel bad about winning by over 20 seconds and disappointed that my only challenge is staying focused enough to not do something stupid. I’ve started running the non-metas but it’s still not been providing any really good racing. I sincerely hope this is not a sign of a longer term trend.

Won two more Daily C races last night.

Not sure what's going on... if all the talented people aren't playing the Daily Cs this week, or maybe people are tired of the bus-stop-cheaters and have bailed on the Daily C all together (I have yet to see this in a race). Since becoming an A|S I am happy to get one win per week in any of the Daily races, but I got three yesterday so I am pretty stoked about that.

I'm going to try more of these this week for sure. If I can get some more wins I'll be happy with that; if not, still happy with getting some thus far.

2 race B for me yesterday. Tried something different of the META (I find so boring the WRX), Ferrari 458 and Viper. Not good qualy times, but great races. It's possible to face some WRX with the Viper. Very fast the Ferrari in the chicane of death
Tried the Megane V6 (my favourite car in GT6). Almost 1 second faster than the cavalino rampante and half a second than the snake. Combining my perfect sectors, I could go to 1:47.high. I love how late you can brake with this machine and how well you can exit the corners and slipstream the other cars. I won't change for the rest of the week

I’ll be honest I’ve lost interest now in dailies. It’s just the same old stuff every week.

  • Every race is x1 tyre & x1 fuel on hard tyres or it goes to the other extreme where your fuel saving for nearly 70% of the race. Mix it up and let us race with soft or medium tyres and maybe include that you have use two tyre compounds. Give us fuel that only last half a race, you could have it were maybe the first stint you fuel save and you go an extra lap or two and then the last stint you run on mix 1 to end.
  • Gr3 every week, Gr4 every week with maybe a week off and then the one make cars (which have all been cars I’m not interested in all). I love the Gr2 race at Fuji the other week. Yes was only 3 cars but at least all 3 cars were pretty much equal. This weeks race c i like the fact we have different cars but meta wins again. How about a GrB rally race. Gr1 (which I think will feature next week at Le Sarthe as its Le Mans week next week)
  • Also this game was banging on dynamic weather, well were is it? I missed the wet weather race in spa the other week but my impression was that everybody loved the uncertainty and the do i pit to wets or dry.
  • And finally I HATE the meta cars. I find I’m quicker in other cars but as soon I hit the track in a race I struggle to race as either I’m down in 10th or the meta just beats you

I haven’t seen this before, but I guess it’s a thing. People farming Poles? Ran 3 race C last night, the same guy was P1 every time. Obviously, a higher rated driver who got himself demoted since his QT was 2-3 seconds faster than everyone else in the lobby. Once the race started, he would quit. Then pop up in the next lobby I joined. Seems like a dull way to “earn” some bragging points.

Hmm!

Wouldn't that count as a race though on his stats? But not as a win, obviously. So lets say he gets 100 poles from this method, but no race wins, does that not look 1. weird 2. rubbish.

Am I missing something? 🤔

Shouldn't his DR take a big hit if he keeps quitting

Probably not about farming poles, sounds like they were trying to crash their DR.

Unless GT7 Sport mode has changed since GtSport's you don't even get the pole stats until after the race finishes (and you have to finish) so all they'd get from quitting is more unfinished races added to their stats. They must be trying to reset their Dr.

I feel you on this, and only reason i have been doing race b is to get myself used to MT and also the Scirocco as i have to use it in manu race coming up, even tho i can use the meta car & post better times, win race easier, i refuse to do so as its not going to help me during the series, besides im actually enjoying the low hp cars in there, i may try the megane today just for some fun

You keep talking about cars with lower horsepower.... please explain what you mean exactly by that.... Because the races are BOP races and the power-to-weight ratio is adjusted as far as possible through BOP. And yes, you may be better off with a car other than the Meta... but the higher the driver class, the less likely it is that you'll be able to win with a non-Meta car.
