Gave Daily A a go... and one race was enough. Was pretty boring, IMO.

What would've been cool was, since it's basically a one-make-race anyway, was use the Formula car. Why? Well, assuming the boost button actually worked as it is supposed to and didn't regenerate itself, it would be a cool bit of strategy to see who used the boost and when. Like KERS was in F1 or push-to-pass in Indy.

Had a few laps in the 787B this morning. Man as a 46 year old that thing is out of my comfort zone. 😂 Its still fun though. First time I've driven that thing since Forza 5 or 6. Got down to a 30.4 or .5 I believe. Mid 29 should be doable for me with a bit more practice.

Sorry for the vent,it went better the 2 races after that. And with good results. Now i can sleep 🤓

Just a reminder how GOOD this car does NOT sound in GT…😢 But it‘s a fun and challenging experience, without taming it with tuning.I like that. But yeah,me being 46 as well i’m also racing close to my limit 😅🏁

And the DD pro can still deliver with this car, great fun.

That feel when you get pit maneuvered, I don't even mind penalties of everything else relative to this racing inchident. Got clean race bonus so that's something LOL

My 1st race using MT on race B, it was garbage, made my way to 3rd from 7th in Scirocco, then the meta cars started knocking me & others off road on last last, insult to injury i got punted into the cod, fell to 11th, sheesh, like why? Because a lil 301hp car was beating the meta wrx? Good thing is after using MT all week practicing, it did feel much more natural in an actual race, didnt panic shift & things either, so i take that as a bright spot in an otherwise ridiculous race lobby

Anyone noticed the cheating in Daily Race C?!
I was doing some Time Trial today and tried to get a good Lap in.
Suddenly when looking on the Leaderboard I noticed something fishy is going on.
I checked the Number 1 Time and that Sneaky Dude just totally cut the final Chicane and set a new Record almost 3 Seconds faster than the previous Number 1 Time.
Of course some others jumped on that train too.
By the way, I also noticed that cutting the final Bus Stop Chicane is a make or brake Thing.
I loaded up NSR Zavisics‘ Time and watched how he takes the final chicane.
It’s a joke.
That Dude completely runs over the Grass and cuts the Chicane in such a blatant Manner and doesn’t receive a Penalty that I simply couldn’t play anymore.
What a joke, so ridiculous.
I always stay within the White Line and try to figure out how to get the best out of the Chicane and that Dude just completely ignores the Track and sets a Lap time I can only dream of.
I don’t know Man, this is not my Style…why do even Top Split Drivers drive that way is beyond me.
I‘d be ashamed, honestly.

Not one clean race for me tonight at Daytona. I got sent flying each race and it got annoying fast. I did drop my qualifying time down to a 50.708 and that did get me starting even closer to the front.

Race 1, I start on pole after a disconnect from the former P1. Yay! I lead the first lap then get passed going into 1. Whatever, we have a good draft train going with P3 as the caboose. Lap 3, P3 doesn't bump me square and I get loose, I save the car but get hit by P3 and I take a wild ride. Finish dead last.

Race 2, I miss a shift at the start, but I have a draft partner to make up ground. Until lap 3 when one driver in the train I'm leading decides to make a pass on the inside when I'm hugging the yellow line on the backstretch and I get dumped then take another wild ride. Finish dead last.

Race 3 starts well enough but a driver tries to make a pass on the inside going into turn 1 when there wasn't that much space and I get loose but don't save it and go for my 3rd wild ride. Dead last again....

Like I said, super annoying. The drafting I have been a part of have been great, but I seem to be on the receiving end of the carnage. I'll keep racing as who knows when a race at the Tri-Oval will come up again in daily races. I am glad that DR/SR is not being calculated because I'm sure I would have gotten a reset at some point this week.

It's a matter of perspective, I guess. My experiences were very similar to yours and I had the most fun I've had in GT7 since the first Race C we had at Daytona.

people were doing this back in the first week of daily races too :/ I thought they fixed this

I don't understand the track limits at the chicane. They are seemingly random as sometimes in-race I will accidentally cut part of it, await the penalty and it never comes. Then 2 laps later I'll take it with less of a cut and BANG 0.5 seconds out of nowhere.

What is the current best qualy time? I'm generally starting on pole with a 29.6. I think a high 28 would be possible without any "cheating". Are you saying the best now is in the 25s?

They put up barriers to stop it. No barriers this week.

Really?! Wow, so that’s even worse.
I mean it’s clear that some People will always look for exploits but seeing Top Drivers doing so is weak.
I don’t get this Attitude…:boggled:
Yea it's ridiculous what people do just to see their name at the top of a leaderboard. I've been in so many leagues over the years that it's just second nature to keep 2 wheels on the tarmac that I have a hard time getting my brain to let me take as much kerb as this game allows. 😆

Got my qauli time down to a 29.4. but I'm officially running from race C with my tail between my legs. Did one race tonight, started from pole, missed the short shift to 3rd in 1 and bam spun myself right into the wall. 😂😂 I recovered to 10th but I want no part of this race now. Hats off to the guys and gals that can keep this car in line for 12 laps.

Think I'll concentrate on Race B the rest of the week. Gr. 4 is much more my style anyway.

Interesting finish to this one lol.

Sorry @Chevy Heavy He kept bumping me into you, so I turned into him lol.

It's cool, there was a few asses out there today. One guy side swiped me and sent me below the yellow line almost wrecking me and he picked up a 6s penalty. I caught back up and was bump drafting a guy past him going into turn 1 and he sends me sliding through the grass. Of course he didn't stick around for my post race "greeting".

Could it be that you are mistaken..? For me, the track in the Gr4 GT-R here in GT7 almost feels like in GTS with a Gr3 car, and the speeds and times that are driven are quite close to those of Gr.3 GTS. At least in terms of feeling, I think there are maybe 10 seconds between my times in the race in GTS in Gr3 and here in GT7 with my Gr4 (and then also with a pad). And 10 seconds per lap between Gr3 and Gr4 doesn't seem like much to me on the track as Gr3 has significantly more downforce and power compared to Gr4. I'll have to test it to see if I'm right with my guess.

I don't understand the driving in race A this week and why everybody wants to bump draft. Sure it makes sense if you're 2nd in line but when you're 5 cars back with the whole race single file its utterly pointless, having that many cars together means you're going to stall out as soon as you pull out of line. Last night I was driving the straights at half throttle from 3rd place to take some energy out of the front of the pack and get the leaders isolated, if the rest of the group reads the race right it gives enough of a slingshot to make the outside line work.

Some people don't know how to bump draft properly. Like don't slam into the back of me in the corner, instead lift a little. And I don't get why nobody wants to pass on the outside. I keep looking out there waiting for someone to pull out and they want to stay in line. Boring. I literally got pit maneuvered down pit lane by a spinning car in one race.

Check out the top replay now, it's pretty hilarious. The guy even gets a penalty and serves it, and this is the leading time (at time of posting anyway). 1:24.786 lols

I had someone in first trying to dodge my bump drafting so some people definitely do respect the slingshot (which 3rd still made work but he took out first when trying to go for the double move so I actually ended up winning because of that

Don’t you just hate it when you get shoved off the track, start swearing and banging your wheel and then you see they didnt even get a penalty, to then watch the replay to find out the car clipped the inside curb and wasnt much they could do.

Race A. I waited 15mins in the quali practice to set a 50.700. Ive watched the top time and I dont understand how they can get 2/3 tenths faster. Any way race starts and on lap 1 P5 behind me decides to crash straight into me sending 4/5 cars into the barrier. Quit the race straight away.

I don't get oval racing, maybe if you live in a country with straight roads & grid intersections there is a novelty in smooth corners but going round and round in circles with half the grid just trying to punt you with no way to pull it back is just tedious.

B is pretty fun though, tried the Evo (I don't know why I persist with them but I just like them for some reason) but it was seriously slow compared to the WRX. Going to give the GTR a go later.

Not the biggest fan of oval racing but given the lack of races in Dailies that are mostly about race strategy rather than skill, I think it's a welcome thing to have every now and then (although not something I would watch in real life) Although I would prefer it with more laps and more or less mandatory pit stops

It was a hypothetical question, not a statement as to why they run the top 5 off road on last lap, i was asking why, or is this the reason for some people to intentionally do it. it was never a statement as this is the reason for it

It think a lot of the issues are DR rating related. People don’t want to lose or drop a DR as this effects the points given out in the manufactures cup & nation cups etc.. (so I believe).
Also I think I read somewhere that if you finish in the lower half of the grid you lose DR rating too.

in GTS, i would often pick the non-meta cars at this track, because i'm special dammit, and i felt faster in some parts. like you, i would assume people are just jerks who would throw their grandma into traffic for an extra DR point.

what i learned is that this is the one track where you can't really do that, unless you want to be 'that guy' for all the other drivers. theres a small window for drivers to keep their speed through the chicane, and if there is a car going 20% slower through the gap... well, it might get hit. of course its on the driver behind to watch out for that sort of thing, but its hard to blame people for not wanting to lose so much time every lap.

again, not trying to make you feel bad or anything. optimally you are sort of 'working' with the other cars to make sure you're all running as fast as possible. if you're constantly getting charged by cars flashing their lights and trying to get around you, i think its on you to change cars or make room for them to pass.
