For daily C Daytona, what is the best alternative to the Mazda 787B? (don't have it, I wish!). The Porsche?

I know i can "rent it" but i'd like to practice in the lobbies with people.

Race B is a bit of a washout.
Firstly the rolling start is one of the worst examples. Anyone below the top 5 start on a hill so are instantly cut adrift. Below 11 you’re on a bend so 11-16 bunch up and then you’re in a fight for the whole race.
Then the race itself is just a waiting game for the chicane. Very hard to overtake or be overtaken outside the chicane and if you make a mistake there your race is over as it’s only 4 laps and you lose a second or two you’re finished.
It’s almost as if no one tested it or something.
And once again thrown into top split with a barely DR A account . The top 10 all below 1.46.1!
And you notice the effects of "Dirty Air" very strongly, especially in the CoD... a bit too close, or directly on the same line as the man in front and the chance of getting stuck in the CoD increases significantly.

Yep. And with the severe understeer it’s even trickier. The track just feels a bit off with this combo and the current issues with the physics, the curbs, and the FFB.

Although this track feels really good for me in the GT-R.. I just had to understand how I have to drive the GT-R to be able to get around the corners really well.
I did ok with the WRX. I got a 146.6 but I saw the top split times and ran away scared and jumped into my 2nd account and quickly set a 1.46.8. But the game put me into top split anyway lol. Started 14th facing a wall thanks to the wonderful rolling start.

LOL a lot of stuck at 47 flat or 47.1
Feels like the lap is dependant on a kamikaze chicane effort which I don’t really have the patience for. It’s one of those ‘computer game corners’ that I’m fussy about lol. The track would benefit greatly from removing it or replacing it with a more traditional chicane but I suppose it’s a signature of gran turismo now.

The trick to DTS is to get the rest of the lap right before the chicane. Have a ghost on a good lap otherwise then a tart chasing the chicane time. 👍

What is the fundamental point of BOP? Every week, every race becomes a 1 make series with the company tuned car becoming the go to.
It’s supposed to allow all cars to be competitive on a given track, but in sim racing it’s near impossible when everyone has/can have unlimited practice time. Even iRacing with it’s no that cash injections from subs can’t get it completely right.

Yeah to me brilliant track except for that corner, i'd ditch it and add a sweeper or something.

I’ve done that a few times but attacking the chicane so aggressively means there’s a lot of pressure to get it right and more often than not I don’t. So I’ve never actually beaten my ghost despite being ahead of it a few times as I mess up. Although I’ve only put about 20 minutes in

that’s why I tend to avoid it in Sport mode now- there’s no way for me to be completely under control without becoming an obstacle there / getting helped into the wall. I’ve always felt like it was more of a “controller” track, just because of the chicane. Either way, it’s not a track that I can just jump in and race for fun.

I genuinely feel like I lose a second going through the chicane. I'm right on the arse of the 1:45.x ghosts until going through there, when they pull ahead massively. I cannot take it fast for the life of me, if I try I eat wall 99.9% of the time. Stuck on about a 1:46.7.

My experience with the CoD in the GT-R... try not to steer too late for the CoD AND shift some weight to the front wheels very early on. Then steer a little to align the car for the last section and accelerate again or keep the accelerator pedal at around 80%... then pay attention to the last curb as the car crosses it there. If the car becomes unsteady/ the tires squeak, this is usually an indication that the rear wants to veer slightly to the left. Then you have to "open" the steering a little bit to catch this slight drift. This way you don't end up in the left wall and have more speed and better acceleration earlier.

I know the aliens can do CoD Flat but I don't have the courage for it because I have small problems every now and then on other parts of the track... and if I get to S2 with a good 1.09.xxx I don't risk this lap in the CoD.

How about making the comment section separate for each news article? And i have noticed that news about daily races are published really late. Sleeping you can do the rest of the week 😉 And also, when you write the news, have a easy language, describe what's important with few words. I catch myself clicking on articles that I think are interesting, but not reading the whole article, because I think the language that is used is a bit "over the top". Just some subjective feedback from me.

Published really late!? They're posted like a few hours after they change over hahaha.

Yes. The article was published Yesterday at 1:45 PM. I'm not 100% when the races are updated, but maybe 8 in the morning or so? The article is almost published 6 hours later than that. That sounds like old news. Many people have already read about it in the forums, and GT planet should care about to be the first on the ball. They have ads showing up in their articles, so they should also care about it for that reason. But mostly to enlighten their viewers.

Now convert that to the forum's - and majority of site traffic's - US east coast time zone. I'll wait.

Yeah, funny that. It's almost like... it takes almost no time at all to make a post reacting to any given item of information, but more time to create an article with unique phrasing and imagery in order to rank well on search engines (and the all-important Google & Apple News).

Hell, if you just want to see what the races are, get up at 7am (your time) and turn the console on.

I don't really know why you're now bitching about GTPlanet's editorial processes in two different threads on the forum, but it doesn't belong in either.

Then do it yourself, no one’s stopping you. Famine does a great job with these, and has been doing so for literal YEARS now, if you can do better, have at it. 👍

Sometimes, not always, but sometimes, you just have to crash a million times and find all the way not to do something, before you find the way to do it. The CoD is one of those times, in Q anyways, always lift in a race, it’s not worth the risk. But in Qually, no matter how good the lap is up to the CoD, it doesn’t mean anything until you get it through the chicane, so it’s worth the risk at that point. You only need to nail it once remember. That’s why I had said before to get the rest of the lap right first, then all that’s left to focus on is getting it through the chicane that one time. :)

The good thing about no DR race A is other people can have a go at proper racing without worrying too much. My stepson was let loose today and is now addicted lol. @GOTMAXPOWER I hope he’s behaving himself, I know he’s been in some races with you this evening!
I pit manoeuvred him 🙈. We were about to try to make a outside lane work but I drove into the wrong part of his car and killed us both. Sorry!

I’m watching the one now. Lag! Great fun to watch though
I was trying to not push the leader so he could get back down to the bottom but then the lag bomb went off. That one was a mess, the lag spikes from the white car were so bad people were getting contact penalties.

Daily race A why in God's green earth would you need to make contact with other car they all go the same except for the vet and Viper there slower then the Ford Gt so making contact with a car faster then you your just a ****** player who has to resort to dirty play and ruin it for everyone else......DR C SR ****...,"TRON"

THREE times i got kicked into the gravel in C because people forgot to brake 1st corner. It gets boring…

edit:and another race that people like to win 1st corner. The first lap is HELL.in germany we say“Herr, lass Hirn regnen“ which means „Dear lord, let it rain brain“ or something like that 😜

From what I’ve seen most contact is accidental aside from bump drafting. It’s easy to get a bit squirelly and at those speeds so close carnage can ensue very quickly.
