For what it’s worth your post got me thinking about how I shift manual. I upshift by the sound of the motor depending on the car and downshift by knowing what gear I’m in and what gear I need to be in for the corner and then count the clicks. Like if you were in fifth I need to be in third for the corner two clicks down. What force feedback settings on the G 29 are you running? I am also on a G 29 and use
Controller sensitivity: not going down that road 🤣
FFB: 2
Ffs: 2-5 depending on car class.
🍻
I have been using FFB-4 and FFS-6 as im not versed in the best setup for this wheel yet, i have saw alot of different settings, so didnt know what the best was, any suggestions are welcome

Managed to lower my qualy time down to 1:47:50 and starting 4th or 5th now in the B-lobbies. Got 2nd or 3rd place finishes last 3 races so quite happy.

To celebrate my current happiness in Daily Race B, I spent 45 minutes creating my own design for the GTR. Hope you all like it 🤣

Thats nice livery, and i have been using the Scirocco in practice races with mt so far because i use it in manufacturers race as well, so im trying to not use other cars like my gtr or that darn wrx but its hard to get my times down under 1:50 in Scirocco so far..i need more practice shifting lol

okay,in A there are only 3 cars allowed anyway but why on earth not the other Ford GTs?That‘s my absolute favorite car,i even bought the Autoart model 😩
The other Ford GTs are allowed, but only if you race one from your own garage

The driver rankings from GTS were set a ~ good month before the GT7 release. This means that if you then had a lower rating, then this rating was also transferred. If you didn't already have a rating in GTS at this point, then you had to start with the base value.
Ah, OK. I think I got C maybe a couple weeks before GT7 came out. So that makes sense. I figured they'd take your rating from GT Sport from the point when you first logged on to GT7 and just go from there.

I set a 1:47.2 in the WRX for Race B, so had my first couple of races since moving up to A/S.

First race I started 9th, made up a couple of places, but binned it on the Death chicane on the final lap, knackered the engine and finished 15th.

Second race I started 13th and finished 11th with a clean race.

I need to get quicker and/or bin it less to stay in A, haha.

I'll try a couple of other cars tomorrow.

I found the GTR more stable, less twitchy in the corners. Worth a try to see if it suits your style.

ok,first C was a good one.Scored a 2nd.That’s an omen, guess i‘ll stick to that :D Bit slippery the last two laps but still ok.

I haven't tried the GTR since the last update, but did prefer it to the WRX before. I did a couple of laps with the Supra, but I'm around 1 second slower, but would need more laps. I'm not sure what the Gr4 Jag is like, but the Gr3 Jag is my favourite Gr3 to drive.

Bit of a throw back this, but we have several weeks now of testing but has car rentals made Daily races better or worst?

So before rentals I only ever bought cars I wanted to drive. I had the free Gr3 from missions and licence centre and then after that I only bought 3 others. So heading into Gr3 daily races I only had 6/7 cars to pick from.
Tonight I went to do a few hot laps in the Gr2 cars for the nations cup, to find the leader board is full of NSX cars. I only own the RC-F and before rentals I would have headed into that race using the RC-F as I don’t have enough credits to just go and buy 2/3 Gr2 cars to test and race with for just one race. I can see the benefits off rentals especially in Race A when it’s been Specific Cars as so far they has only been one car I own and wanted to race, the others car I have zero interest in buying so the rental has helped in that sense.

Mostly better tbh. Yes, it means it's slightly easier to drive the meta car but since the rewards for Sport mode are awful I don't think that's too bad since it means you won't have to grind to drive the car you want in Dailies. And if you got a race like race A this week where the car that'll give you by far the best chance to win is a million it actually makes the race more interesting as it's all down to strategy and not someone driving a car that's naturally a couple of tenths slower.

And as you said, they make certain races much easier to implement.

Technically yes, but unless you have super human reflexes, pretty much unavoidable. It's the chicane of luck just as much as its the chicane of death. When I'm behind a car through there I'm always begging the car in front not to make a mistake... Sometimes they ghost instantly if they hit the wall, more often you get collected.

787B. It needs a bit of fuel saving in the race so the R92CP stands a chance to keep up. Not enough fuel saving for the 962C to take over (slower but best fuel economy). The other 2 don't seem to be competing, worst on fuel.
You don't need to fuel save in the 787B. It will do the full race flat out.

Odd, the 787B used to use more fuel than the R92CP and that ran empty going flat out. Got to test it for myself :)

My old estimates from GT Sport on Sarthe, number of laps on a full tank (didn't write down the multiplier doh)

Nissan R92CP 4.3 laps
Jaguar XJR-9 3.8 laps
Sauber C9 3.7 laps
Mazda 787B 3.5 laps

They weren't even close. The 962C was added later and did a bit better than the R92CP.

Does anyone find the car seems to handle so much differently jn races compared to qualifying. I set a 1.47.05 in qualies and can easily hit a 1.47.5 everytime more or less yet when I race I can't even get close, it's like all the braking points are completely different and the car handles different. Is this lag? Even races when I'm leading with no slipstream or dirty air ahead it just feels off

Check the traction control in the race. Mine for some reason keeps going to 3

But Mazda is a main sponsor now though. 😎

There is fuel weight in the car in a race and tire wear is on, that makes the car drive slightly differently. They aren’t turned on in Qually.

So, just a short Report.
After 4 Years!!! Yes 4 Years of not doing Daily Races, I finally got back into the Drama and Thrills racing Dailies can provide.
And to be honest I was very very pleasantly surprised how civilized and clean the Races have been.
Of course I only did Race A though.
Did a few free Practice Laps, set a 51.3 in the Mustang and jumped in.
I got matched with @GOTMAXPOWER who started on Pole and quickly noticed that the Mustang was not the choice I should have made if I wanted to have a competitive Race.
Everyone was driving in the Ford GT and I very soon found out the reason behind it.
May I say that this BOP is just utter Garbage.
I mean what’s the Point in providing 5 Cars but only 1 is actually Competitive, so useless and stupid, ah well.
Of course @GOTMAXPOWER won the race and afterwards he reminded me that I probably should have chosen the Ford GT…what a wise Advice, thx Max 😅
So, took his advice and jumped into the next Slot.
Did some free Practice and immediately improved my Lap Time to a 50.75x I guess ?!
Anyway, next race and again I saw MaxPower starting from Pole just a tenth ahead of me and the Racing was excellent.
Started 8th, finished 6th and had a good Battle throughout The Whole Race.
Pity that it’s just 7 Laps, should be at least 15 but well…
Overall I must say that the Racing Standards were pretty good and the best thing was, I experienced that Nervous Feeling before the Race start.
I love that.
Shaky Legs and that buzzing Feeling.
Priceless.
After that I jumped in some quick Time Trial for Daily C and after a few Laps I almost dipped into the ‚29s with a 1:30‘028. Not too shabby for an old Fart like me with a Potential 29.4 but I simply can’t bother Time Trialing longer than 10 Minutes.
At least I’m faster than most of the Guys on my Friends List so not too bad I think.
Well, I then decided to Time Trial Race B.
The quickest non WRX Time on my Friends List was once again Set by Turismo-Lester in the Viper with a 1:45‘7.
I love driving the Viper so of course I jumped in that Bum and did a quick Time Trial Session to eventually hit a 1:46‘4 which I was very pleased with.
I think a mid 45 in the WRX could be possible but I don’t fancy driving the WRX.

So, what’s my Conclusion after my recent discoveries?!
GT7 is simply the best Racing Experience.Period.
As Long as People keep it serious and behave properly, this Game is unchallenged.
So much fun, wow.
And by the way, I freaking love the new FFB PD has implemented.
The Immersion is phenomenal.
Driving the Cars feels so good and easy it’s awesome.
I hope PD doesn’t change the FFB again.
There‘ll always be someone who‘ll complain about something, instead of just adapting, making the best out of what’s given and just simply GitGud.
I still see the same Names dominating the Leaderboards which shows and confirms my Observations.
It’s not about the FFB, it’s about Skill and the ability to adapt.
Have fun my Dudes and just enjoy the drive.
Don’t care about Winning or complaining. Enjoy the Drive and the Thrill Competitive Online Racing has to offer.
And most importantly, don’t take it too serious, have fun 'cause there’s nothing better than a relaxed ride and a clean fair fought out Race no matter where you finish 😁

But Mazda is a main sponsor now though. 😎
I guess that must be it  I just went flat out in the 787B and had 9% fuel left at the finish. How is it now more fuel efficient than the R92CP. From performing about 80% fuel wise in GT Sport to about 110% in GT7 compared to the R92CP

The R92CP is more stable on Daytona though, 787B likes to wiggle its butt on corner exit.

I was in 4th lap 3 but then got punted off back to 8th. It was a revenge punt by someone getting a BS penalty for contact I had with a different car. I didn't make the pass at that time but BS penalties are like waving a red flag in front of a bull. So the one ending up with 3 sec (taking advantage of the situation), let me pass, then firmly drove me off the road and quit :yuck:

My reaction when I can run the Daytona Tri-Oval in a daily race...

Buffalo Bills GIF by EliteSportsTours

I am having an absolute blast in Race A so far. It's complete chaos an I can't get enough for some reason. I was only going do one and be done, but I did 4 races total tonight. I did set a qualifying time of 50.800 which started in the front of the field the entire night.

Race 1 I start in P4, but I got dumped on lap 4 when someone got into the back of me and I went for a wild ride. Nothing intentional, just a typical Daytona crash. I finish P11, but it doesn't count for rating so I don't care. I decided to go again as I need to see what I can really do.

Race 2 I'm in P6 and I just catch the draft of the top 5 and we have a nice battle. I do survive 2 separate of the same type of contact on the same corner and keep on going but behind the where I can't catch the draft. I go below the yellow line to avoid a crash in the tri-oval which I forgot was a penalty and fall way behind. I get run off the road on lap 6 by a driver I tucked behind because I don't think they appreciated my bump drafting in an attempt to catch the leaders. Still finish P6.

Race 3 I'm in P5 to start and this was the best pack race of the night. Everyone is drafting properly and thanks to some shadow realm visits and penalties to others I get P3 in the end.

Race 4 is just like the previous race and I found a bump draft partner which kept us in with the leaders. I make a move to take the high line and get the momentum for the last lap but I just clip the front of the car I was trying to get in front of and I cause the big one. I then get run off the track at the finish and get a 1 second penalty just to pile on getting spun.

I can't wait to do more tomorrow.

Ha, forgotten about Blue Moon Bay as race C? 20 cars draft bumping with pit stop strategy. It was hell on SR, but some of the closest racing in GT Sport. Lot of tactics, lot of teamwork, and a lot of fuel planning. I think it was 28 laps or so. Small track, after a while there was always someone to draft and work with.

Race C is growing on me now I'm in the 787B. Perfect balance of risk vs reward. It's just a shame the sound mix is different, I don't hear those beautiful harmonies the 787Bs used to create at Sarthe. Maybe I can up the volume of other cars. I'm also the only one with a livery, kinda ugly all standard 787Bs lol.

This is a good question, this could be a good week to get that trophy out of the way safely on the main account. 🤔
Two birds with one stone. It also counts towards the 800km driving in oval circuits as well if you didn't earn it yet like me.
