Thanks bro, i need that, i just started on MT couple days ago, and its my 1st wheel, so it's all new to me but i have noticed significant increase to me times when i hit the shifting correctly, knocked off a 58 in next manu race practice in the Scirocco, but i still need ALOT of practice...how long did it take yall to get good & comfortable with MT vs AT?
Took me a couple of weeks, and about a month to be fully switched. I drove standard IRL my whole life though, although I can’t drive fast with a proper manual in game, only with paddles. 😂

Can someone tell me why did PD mess with the DR/SR points in the dailies, why are the daily races NOT counting for DR/SR, I read the release and believed that there would be separate "point" races and "non-point" races, thinking we would have the option to choose. But noooooo, they just removed the point tally from the daily races, I am an average racer, not good enough for the nations cup/mfg cup, and so I now have NO chance of improving my rating.

Can't recall as years ago. Can recall thinking this is hard work/awkward and had to fight the urge to go back to at/my comfort zone. Honestly didn't take long though, as in hours, rather than weeks. Can't recall if slower for a bit though, but didn't take long to feel comfortable. Defo do it single player though, can imagine you're I'm competitive frame of mind more racing other humans...
Im definitely competitive, but i just like to enjoy the game & racing, i do feel good using it,just trying to get better each lap & understand the shifting and when to downshift appropriately & things, that video helped alot to understand the process, so i figure i just need more repetition as its the mother of skill, and hopefully i can get it together better before end of series, gotta take my beatings & lumps and get better from them

Nice, im aiming to be completely switched by then too, i do have to fight hard to not go back to comfort zone as well, im using the G29 with paddles myself lol

Yeah that's it. Worth it as you feel more involved, so more immersion, and as far as I know quicker.

Gearing down helps, but can just fly down immediately as causes instability and can lose control... particularly in powerful cars.

But once you have foundation, you get a feel for it.

Going by your user name, I'm going to assume you work in tech? I do to, so get the analysis, process etc and need to understand it to apply properly.

Why is race B so damn short and yet you have to wait almost 10 minutes for the next race. And race C is now officially only 16 cars? God forbid people have fun with this game.
Instead of improving they just made this game worse and continue doing so.I remember the first weeks race C was for 20 cars.

it's only Race A that doesn't count toward DR/SR, Race B and Race C are the same as they've always been.

Yeah, Race A in road cars is usually my favourite race, but with nothing to gain, it’s just time wasted this week.
Yes, reminds me of all the time I wasted in the arcades playing Sega's Daytona USA. Good times. 👍 I can't till we wait get a proper Daytona oval race C with more players and fuel/tire wear. Now I gotta go put a C8.R livery on my GT.

Is this my fault?

To start with, he rammed me to overtake but anyways.. I obviously wanted to follow closely to try and retake my position and we touched in the chicane of death.

I was following the racing line and he was already at a bad angle, heading for the wall for sure. I couldn't react.. 4 second penalty. Managed to even get to 3rd before serving it on the last lap and got 10th instead 😤🫤

You are absolutely right, unfortunately I don't like it because the paddle shifters on my T248 are so terribly loud and don't feel that nice.. It kills the whole shifting experience...
In addition, my wife can even hear it in the living room when I drive the MT one floor up in the office. That doesn't have to be the case... I might buy a new steering wheel soon (when PD repairs the FFB again) then I also want to drive MT. It simply brings more speed and flexibility.

wow,a quick view into the leaderboards of Race A und C reveals:it‘s a ONE car strategy more than ever before? In Race B there is way more variation with just 90% WRX 😜 That‘s just boring.

After MS lineup for this year collapsed,i start to hope more and more they‘ll announce at least FM8 for autumn and better DELIVER on that front.PD needs some fire under their azz as well 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Technically yes, but unless you have super human reflexes, pretty much unavoidable. It's the chicane of luck just as much as its the chicane of death. When I'm behind a car through there I'm always begging the car in front not to make a mistake... Sometimes they ghost instantly if they hit the wall, more often you get collected.

I'm away for most of the week... What's the meta for Race C?
787B. It needs a bit of fuel saving in the race so the R92CP stands a chance to keep up. Not enough fuel saving for the 962C to take over (slower but best fuel economy). The other 2 don't seem to be competing, worst on fuel.

okay,in A there are only 3 cars allowed anyway but why on earth not the other Ford GTs?That‘s my absolute favorite car,i even bought the Autoart model 😩

I notice: the brakelights on the Subaru or difficult to see which makes it harder to react.

Absolutely - a leading car is entitled to pick its line through a corner. You didn't allow for it, didn't respond to the car braking or slowing (which it was obviously going to do given his awful approach to it) and hit him.

But since he clearly just biffed you out of the way at the hairpin, **** him and the horse he rode in on.

Honestly, I'm not one to revenge hit anyone who hits me before as (at least, I hope) karma will take care of itself 🤣

I always give way to the leading car but I honestly was surprised by the line he took and that he didn't ghost. If anyone is at least an inch ahead of me, i always yield as it's on me to ensure a clean overtake, not the one in front.

Oh snap, i just saw the race, yea, thats not going to get me anywhere, guess I'll just keep going at it with cpu until i feel more comfortable against real drivers
Pick your favorite track and do time trials. You’ll be amazed how quickly it’ll become second nature. I say this as a complete newbie to racing who started with a controller three months ago and transitioned to a wheel about two months ago. It only took me a day or two to really get it. If you get the FFB settings right you’ll (probably) actually find it easier because you can feel so much more going on with the car. At least that’s how I did it, and it’s totally worth it!

Edit: on second thought, just do an hour of time trials for your online event. That should be enough to get you ready for a race!

If someone would have to be at fault yes but it's the sort of thing where no one should get a penalty tbh

Thank you, as i been thinking of doing the trials for tracks to get ready for online races, i need to get it going as there are alot of races this week & coming up that i need alot of practice for

Leave the horse out of it, it didn't have any choice!

MT is definitely quicker but far, far less so in GT7 than GTS. GTS had so much more turn in understeer that you'd be left hanging on corner entry in AT, in GT7 this is pretty rare. With racecars, GT7 has become a contest on who can get on the gas earliest and hardest on TC0.

Well that's sooo not quite right.. The WRX has been dominating the Gr4 races for the 5 or 6 weeks in a row, maybe even longer... The WRX is definitely faster than the others, but eg. the GT-R, if driven well, is at least halfway able to keep up. I prefer races A and C in terms of feeling..... nevertheless I'm currently only driving race B with my GT-R.

For what it’s worth your post got me thinking about how I shift manual. I upshift by the sound of the motor depending on the car and downshift by knowing what gear I’m in and what gear I need to be in for the corner and then count the clicks. Like if you were in fifth I need to be in third for the corner two clicks down. What force feedback settings on the G 29 are you running? I am also on a G 29 and use
Controller sensitivity: not going down that road 🤣
FFB: 2
Ffs: 2-5 depending on car class.
🍻

And with MT you can compensate for the problem of the missing BB settings, for example if you drives the M6, which requires more braking power on the rear axle and less on the front axle.
