My issue with either of those is that the innocent bystander (bydriver?) is still the one that gets the most punishment. What I am trying to do is keep the person who is taking a turn correctly, from being the one that brunts the most amount of pain from someone else being a rammer. Even if the rammer gets a 5 second penalty or takes damage (which they kinda do, but it times out after 30 seconsd or something), that does nothing to help the person who is now in the sand...

I think the only way to keep people from doing ramming is to take away their ability to ram. It's all a moot point, though. PD won't do anything like this.
I think this is why it desperately needs to come alongside a SR overhaul, in one way or another.

I think innocent people being taken out is part of racing, unfortunately, it happens in real life and if we're just trying to avoid most contact ingame then it just functionally becomes a time trial.

SR really just needs to mean something. It needs to be hard to keep your SR at S, and you should be rewarded for having it stay there. The occasional contact is fine, and it won't hurt you too much to have a race end in the gravel every now and then, but if you're express delivering people to Barry R every race you have no right to be in S, and the game should knock you down the ranks pretty hard.

I still think think scalable payouts is a great way to promote clean driving. Getting half a million for finishing high in an S rank race will appeal to pretty much everyone, and if you have to actively try to drive clean to stay up there, people will want to, and try to stay clean for the money.

True, but [typically] not maliciously. And the person who does the crashing also has real life consequences, whereas in the game they don't. Flat tires, mechanical failures, and bad pit stops also happen in real life... some things are left out of the game such the user can have a better experience.

The ghosting thing is why I mentioned only if the speed delta is a certain amount. If two cars are just bumping then leave them be. It happens. But if two cars have big discrepancy in speed, ghost out the rammer & apply a penalty. This avoids the time trial mentality as the rammer has no intent of taking the corner correctly anyway. That speed delta wouldn't even be difficult to quantify IMO; each turn at each track it would be different, but they could do it... with all the other physics calculations going on, it would be nothing. Or, just add a percentage across the board. If car A is going 130%+ of car B, ghost car A. I dunno, something like that.

Anyway, at least some of us are trying to think of ideas! I do agree with your SR and payout points for sure.

Quali times seem to be M6 or Gensis X. For the race, fuel save no-stop in the BRZ.
I don’t know why but the Genesis X didn’t work for me… Hyundai Genesis suited me better and managed a 1:58.9 which puts me in a good start position usually. But if you can manage the Genesis X it has better turn in so you can probably shave some time over the Hyundai. If you can get low 58 you definitely get a good start position. I should have tried a few others but got 1:58.x so decided to move on to the fuel saving BRZ which is completely different but definitely the car to race.

Joining the gang of not playing until they address penalties. Done 3 races at Suzuka today and in every one there have been A to A+ drivers that at least sideswipe you off the road, if not punt you into the sand at every corner if they have the chance - and I've only seen one penalty given out (and that was for bowling at the chicane)

It's completely broken. I've had about 1 clean race at Suzuka this entire week where someone hasn't punted me off, and 0 clean races where I've not seen anyone intentionally kill someone. Absolutely no fun in this.
I've had some great races at Suzuka this week, in B/S rooms. As I got close to the top of B rating, I ended up with mainly A rated drivers, and the races got increasingly dirty!

Need to tank my rating again to get back to some clean racing!

I did a couple of races on B tonight, the races are dirty AF, most people are full send it, even if there's no room. I think I'm done for this week.

Is it worth making another account in a different region? Or are they all as bad as Europe right now.

I think there is merit in the damage thing, but again, someone else rams me in a turn and now I can't finish/compete in the race anymore while the guilty part just quits out. Unless you're insinuating only the rammer take the damage and the other car is fine. But, this goes back to the ghosting + penalty thing... don't even allow the rammer to hit anyone else. They already kinda do this in the lower lobbies. But, if someone is doing it maliciously (which it's hard to argue when car A is going 30mph faster than car B at the contact point), then they get a penalty too. Rammer goes flying wide due to the extra speed, and gets a 5 second penalty, while clean driver continues to race unscathed.

I think the only way to keep people from doing ramming is to take away their ability to ram. It's all a moot point, though. PD won't do anything like this.
It works too. You see a lot less dive bombing below SR B since the rammer usually gets ghosted and just takes himself out. Taking the ability to ram away is very effective. The only problem is, the game doesn't give them a penalty for the attempt, instead it gives you a massive boost to SR gains in lower SR. Hence the yoyo problem with SR.

Yes and no. I have a second account in Asia and its not too bad. Race B is just like the European servers. Dirty drivers forcing moves into turns or punting others off.

It’s worth having a second account as i use this to just mess about on and I’m not worried about my DR. I still treat all the races with the same respect and race cleanly. Also I like to run different cars that you wouldn’t normally use

Sure, just send me a Friend Request.
If you are a clean and fair Racer and behave like a civilized Human, you’re welcome :)
Lovely.

And I have no idea how to do that (the friend request, not the civilized behaviour). From the menu on the PS? Then I'll have to ask my daughter, because it's her console, not mine. :)

And she might actually have some friends...

Just send me a PM here on GT Planet with your PSN Name so I can send you a request.
You shouldn’t need to ask your Daughter for permission, actually it’s your Console if you decide it 😂

Just about had it with the game at this state. Everyone has an S rating for Sportsmanship since you can abuse the system without problems most of the time...

Spent an hour to take off 0.3 sec from my Race B qualy time to get better races. Start 11th either way, climb up to 5th and get pit-manouvered last lap to end up 13th 😤🫤

Happened so many times now with side-swipes and punting going unpunished. Can't believe a AAA publisher allows for this crap to happen in the most popular part of the game (sport mode).

This was the main purpose of my second account. I go into races expecting nothing, so I have go in with some low expectations. I'll put in a poor quali time or none at all to start at the back. I messed up in C and put in a quali time forgetting to quit out at the end. Ah well... did a two Cs in the BMW and when both races were over, only five people were still competing in each. People mess up or get punted and just quit out.

I do just enough cafe menus to unlock tracks for CEs for cash to buy Gr3 & Gr4 cars. It's keeping me interested.

So simple yet genius. I think it's the only way, double down and get rid of rentals and you might have a manageable racing ecosystem!

If you wanna play you need the P's, and to get the P's you gotta get clean!

Man, if they did this, I wouldn't even admonish the devs for doubling the price of the legendary cars. Hell, triple it.

Yup, same as here.
Nah, don’t worry about your Pace, I’ll get you up there pretty quick.
A bit of good ol‘ pressure is all it takes 😅

Thank you for your kind Words.
The next Frikandel Spezial goes on my Cap 😉
You can add me also an get connection to many other cool Drivers.

We also have a Discord for anyone who would like to connect with us on this. Unfortunately, the link to it is NOT allowed to be shared here, but everyone is welcome... just ask.
I sent you & Maxi requests, and again thanks yall, and everyone in here, it is more appreciated than words say, heck PD should make GTplanet the official gt7 chat, or maybe read the posts to get the game right

Speaking of requests, feel free to add me anyone. Always happy to compete with more faces on the leaderboards!

My PSN is Nebuc72 - I'll accept everyone.
Sent. My PSN is GTP_WRP001 and looking for additional competition on leaderboards also... already finished all the CEs but maybe in future TT's and such.

At the start of my first race c today the wheel feedback completely disappeared. Started on pole and ended up in 7th before I got used to the toy wheel you can turn with a finger. Came back nicely once I was used to it. Force feedback didn't come back until I shut down PS4 and unplugged wheel... weird. Also had one race c lock up on opening screen... hoping my car didn't auto drive itself into last place.

Race A has been giving me some laughs, especially when I'm getting clean race bonuses even when I've been bouncing off cars left and right, unintentional of course but still.

Definite Wreckfest vibes but the physics when the car gets airborne feels like Rocket League to me I don't know if anyone else has felt that too

Can't say it's not a good bit of arcade fun though.

Not so sure. Personally I’m not fussed if I have zero credits or 20 million. Once you’ve done Nords CE you’ll have pretty much all the money you’ll need for the very few cars required in sport mode. I don’t really spend any credits other than oil change.

Probably the messiest win I've had so far but hey, P1 is P1. Shame that there's players like this completely ruining the online mode, I don't know what the solution is but they need to do something.

Unbelievable. If there is ever a case for a report driver feature this proves they needs to be one for the that stop puutiin driver. Cant believe people have to cheat to win on lap 1 in a 10 lap race. Plus the brake check is unacceptable too. The lap 8 collision with the other driver looks like it was unintentional and they tried to move back across for the corner.

Race B I just can't get with. I don't like this track backwards, it's annoying and awkward to drive for me and I can't get my time down. Reading others reports it's not exactly a great race once you do get going so I'll just skip it for this week, doesn't seem I'm missing much.

Race C is a classic, interesting BoP for this. I've tried the WRX and the Beetle which are popping up in the top times but the fastest I've got so far is a 2:01.2 in the Hyundai Genesis with an optimal .4 to find and I still feel like there's more time in there beyond that. This is a real underrated gem of a car on this game, one of the first Gr.3's I bought as my daughter liked one of the liveries haha but it ended up surprising me a lot with its speed and stability.

I've come close in the Chevy, it's always good to just simply know a car really well, but in the two leaders above I'm 2+ seconds off.

EDIT: It's pretty disappointing on PS5 to see noticeable pop-in heading into 130R mind. This is gone from places like Monza for example, I don't know why it's still showing here.

I'm sure you're not the only one.

My main point is if they remove rentals, mix up the combinations, throw in a few tuning races (all long shots perhaps). Then they tie cleanliness to payouts.

Writing this again I can see what a pipe dream it is! I suppose with the MTX model they've created, it would be against their overarching philosophy
