Then I got nothing....
Need a replay for things like this, someones anecdotal recall is easily fallible and I don't mean that as if they're lying but could be misremembered, exaggerated, got the cars involved mixed up; without a video it could be anything.

It also could be a glitch, sometimes in GT if you go so far out wide the game doesn't recognise you're braking a track limit and you don't get penalised, could be something similar happened.

Quali times have jumped the last 24 hours. What was 6th last night is now 12th. Hate being midpack. Behind some idiots bashing and swerving on lap 1, took themselves out and put me in the barrier as I tried to avoid the mess.

Need to find at least a second before I can race again.

Annoyingly I found half a sec straight away in the BMW, and the optimal says there’s nearly another second there.

Going to have to join the herd and race it now - at least I found a decent livery, running a Turkington WSR now.

Glen Pit Lane

if you cut the yellow Line when go IN !!! in the Box it count as 3sec Pen .
I tested it several times.
To prevent this BS drive careful on the inside in the corner …you may loose a bit time but better than 3sec Pen.

This is my M6 livery. Loved this car livery back in the day

.but DO NOT stay on the brakes if it goes on the curbs for the first right .
That's probably my issue. I'll give it another whirl this afternoon.

That sign is way too late. I brake halfway between the 300 board and the marshall box on the left.

I rarely use exact markers. So I'm trying to figure out just how much before the post. It's just good for me to have something to the right, as well as the left

Argh! Picked up a penalty on pit entry. Has to be one of the worst pit entries on the game.
Decent race again. Hyundai is decent on the soft tyres so am able to capitalise on the M6 when they struggle towards the end of the stints.
The Hyundai was my choice for my first daily in weeks. It's one of the small clutch of Gr.3's I actually own. (Mainly because it's my current manu team.) It worked really well. Got no trouble from it even when the tyres were half worn. It was so good through the right hander after the chicane that I was able to make a couple of moves into the 'Boot' section.
Only issue I had was a random spin through the chicane. Did it no different to the other 9 laps but saw a few spinners there so there might be a glitch.
BTW, what is with the distance boards here? Are they in feet? It was very discombobulating early on when I was braking at 200 for a 3rd gear turn.
I assumed feet too. But I was so confused by the fact it looked like there were 2 200 markers on the approach. So I ignored them and looked for my own markers.

Since you can see beautiful M6s here. For months I've had a design on my M6 car, unfortunately not my own... I still think it's awesome... Hope you like it too... And 2 videos... one of which hardly needs an explanation... after that I was really pissed off... The other thing... well, I was insulted after the race for overtaking in a dirty way... What's your opinion on that?

To be honest, I'd have issue with the 2nd one (if we're not talking touring cars). There was a gap but not big enough for a clean pass, you opened it up further with the contact. You could say he turned in, should have seen you coming but he was squeezed on the outside as well and you weren't fully overlapping.

Just my opinion.

I think at least for me the key is at the chicane.... Apply the brakes briefly for the first right, which is taken very "lightly"...but DO NOT stay on the brakes if it goes on the curbs for the first right . Then brake very slightly again and steer to the left, don't drive by eye but by feel, you have to align the car before you see the curve.
Correct braking is important, if you brake too hard too late and then drive over the first curb with your brakes on for the first right, then the wheels behind them lock and the steering becomes unclean and/or the rear breaks out.
Go through the chicane there with a little throttle to use the engine brake without locking the rear wheels.
Agree here.

Keep in mind, fellas, the BALANCE of the car is critical, especially when doing back-and-forth turning. If you upset the balance of the car too much by overloading the front & under loading the rear, or vice-versa, it's going to be a problem before the bus stop is over.

That's a tricky one. That corner has such a short braking zone where braking late and braking early lead to two separate braking zones. I tend to brake early there and steer in early like the 2 cars ahead of you did. Maybe that's too early (I'm not fast on that track). But you basically establish significant overlap after the 2 other cars already starting their turn. You brake later so for you you establish overlap in your braking zone before you turn in.

You can still easily make the corner but not without contact as the two other cars are already committed to their lines. And that's the only reason you beat them to the apex. So technically from your POV it's 'fair', from their POV it's a bad pass. Iffy, no idea what a steward would rule in this case. Yet if it doesn't feel right, it's probably wrong.

About the pit entry: yes, it's probably the tightest one in game. Is it hard? No. Adjust your speed and drive in slowly with a wheel on the curb.

Should they change it?
Absolutely not! It's like it is in real life. Adapt and overcome.
It’s funny, in a race where a pit is mandatory and everyone has to take it, there’s really no difference how long or slow the entrance is because everyone will be losing the same amount of time. I just accept it as a part of this particular track.

On the other hand, I’ve been tempted to scream around that last corner and then dove into the pit at the last second. I’m wondering if the three second penalty is worth it if I don’t have to slow down and take that turn so slowly.

It's not just 3 seconds though. There's the extra time picking up speed again on the uphill straight. Better to just slow down on the pit entry corner.

No way.

Nürburgring GP 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

I couldn't eat as much as I want to throw up because of it for the rest of my life.

Where the hell are the cool races like multiple laps (+3) on the Nordschleife?

I finally go into the 1:44 laps, 1:44.5 in the Lexus, but only the 2nd lap after pitting when softs are at optimal performance. Meanwhile the FL in race is down to 1:42. So still trundling behind waiting for my DR to adjust to where I can race people.

PD buggered up TCS for sure, without it the Lexus is 2 seconds faster... But using a DS4 with my old fingers is tricky without TCS. I keep getting ignoring track limit penalties from going wide to stop the car from spinning out on corner exit. Once or twice per race is enough to ensure I stay behind everyone :/

I started the week at 41.2K DR from Daytona in the 787B. Currently down to 35.2K, still getting matched with the top split, finishing up to a minute behind first. I would have more fun races in DR.B but that's still a week away at this pace.

I knew WG would be a difficult track to compete at on controller & it has been exactly that.

In top split lobbies all week, against known wheel users & probably one other controller user that I know of. It's a nightmare getting these cars to rotate probably even switching down a gear & short shifting back up.

At Monza I was within 1 second of the top times, at Suzuka within 1.5 seconds of the top times (which I consider similar because as the track gets more complicated & steering heavy, I generally can't compete as closely with wheel users).

At WG? the absolute best I can do is a 1:42.2 absolutely way off the top times, & in the race I can only manage maybe a 43.7 on the absolute best lap on softs.

I was hoping for Monza this week so I could bump up my rating & push my DR higher because I'm barely A+ at the moment... & I need to get into the higher A+ top split for the final FIA so I could get a chance of 300pts instead of being in a lobby of full A+ but only competing for a maximum of 250pts.
Instead I probably lost DR, barely hanging on to my rank.

Watkins Glen is a fun track, but man it's surprisingly difficult especially on a controller, feels more like I'm trying to get a boat around the course.

Can I ask why it is so important for you to have the chance for 300pts instead of 250pts ?!
If your Goal is to qualify for a World Series Event, I highly doubt that even if you score 350pts.+ On a regular Basis would guarantee you a spot in one of these.
On the other side, are you aware that the DR System in GT is not meant or lets put it that way, it’s not an infinite Raising System.
It’s meant to give you an indication of your overall performance/pace so that you get put into similar fast/slow Rooms with People around you racing at a similar Pace.
It doesn’t work like you probably think it does.
Look at @Sven Jurgens for example.
There are Tracks where he performs way better compared to others and vice versa.
Hence, his DR fluctuates and this Week with the Watkins Glen Combo, he noticed that his DR is putting him into Rooms with Guys running at a much higher average Pace.
And I doubt he enjoys it.
It’s not encouraging to punch above your Weight Class.
Your current DR is just a rough Guideline for your recently acquired Points and it’s supposed to fluctuate to ensure you’re going to be matched with People approximately running around your Pace.
Unless you’re an outstanding Performer or Alien Like Driver I think you shouldn’t pay too much attention to it.
Just enjoy the Racing.

How do you find these numbers?

You have to upload your profile page screenshots for it to track you. I snap one after every race (if I don't forget) and upload them in bulk. Save to USB stick, drag and drop on my laptop, pretty easy.
