Use 2. Gear in the sharp left turn of sector 2. there are still a few tenths left... the one long before it on the right goes a little faster.... otherwise a very nice run.

Race B very tight this week, which is great 🙂 Very nice lap time yourself btw 😎 Will try holding 2nd gear, I'm assuming the corner is the one straight after the long right-hander at the very start of sector 2?!

I love this game but sometimes I think the game hates me 🤐

The previous race I mentioned nothing bad happened but I did get nudged from behind a few times, nothing serious though...

Still, i lost the Clean Bonus and even DR so I was dropped from Tier 1 to Tier 2 😱 Obviously was annoyed but between my improved qualy time and being in Tier 2, i started 2nd so had high hopes!

Leader makes a mistake and I go past at the end of lap 1. I was comfortably managing the gap to 2nd place, keeping it between 0.6 and 0.9 for a further 3 laps and then...

He completely didn't brake mid lap 4 and used me instead 🫤 Down to 5th and robbed of a win... Finish 5th and of course, lost my Clean Race bonus and more DR and SR... Wonderful! 😢

Got the FK8 Civic down to a 1:24:006, which should at least be competitive than the Bs (and 4 hundredths ahead of Kowalski, a little bonus).
Need some extra motivation?

Never mess with an old fart and his car: 😇🤣

Well, just had my 500th race on GT7, seems a good time to share my pretty mediocre stats but interesting to me at least, fairly average, bog standard racer who brought over their DR and SR from Sport so more or less started at my already competitive level at the games launch.

Around a low B is where I typically am, with the occasional drop to C should the combos not fit me well but I'd have to say I'm pretty pleased with the 180 top 5's overall and the clean races, while it looks low on the stats, I'm confident it's well above many, many others

It's a shame that's all we really get for stats, it would have been a pleasure to go digging on KudosPrime after this many races but oh well that's the way it is for now I guess.

11 wins, I know there's some on here who are probably in triple figures, but I don't envy too much. When you have to really fight on track for every inch, those wins mean more than they likely ever will to those who run away with it at the front.

As for the 500th race itself, well I started 11th in Race C and planned to try @Roggers idea of running hards from the start and pitting late, which is a fun idea in theory but I didn't take account late night euro servers and no one wanting to let anyone else run their race with daft dives and bad short term decision making the order of the day. I did play it out, but ended up in 11th again at the end... I still think there's something in the strategy, if you can have a solid race, stay out of trouble and put in consistent lap times but it wasn't to be there.

Whether you're at the front, at the back, or somewhere in the daytona infield causing a permanent yellow on the start/finish line, let's go racing boys

Seriously, race hasn't started and he goes from like last to 1st with huge gap to begin with... Has anyone else noticed this lately in daily races?

Well, for those of you wondering if it's true or not; it is.

If you don't use it, you lose it. After having not played in several weeks, I can't even crack the 31's at Fuji. I should be high 29's or even low 30's but I can't even get close. I should have at least done a few laps here and there to keep up to snuff.

To be honest, I think it's one of those YMMV things. I didn't touch the game for a while between holidays and came back and was back where I needed to be after a few laps once the muscle memory kicked in.

It'll still be there for you, it just needs to click again.

A race qualy 1:19.327.... Whoop whoop!!
Update:
@MOPARbarrett5, I tried the Bore Up S (Special Part), but unfortunately after leveling the power back to 246hp the PP & acceleration was slightly worse than with the standard Bore Up .... So probably it's better without any bore up or special parts :-(

Anyway after watching the top two replays I tried a few different gears (and a shameless wall slam) and managed a 1:18.853... Good enough for 5th at the moment

Yeah I’ve seen this on YT. One of the American streamers came across this error at Interlargos. Apparently that person doesn’t see any other cars on track and they think they are just racing on there own, but they can still crash in your car.

I’ll try and find the clip, but if you search “GT7 race start glitch” I’m sure you will find it. ZR4 seems to ring a bell as for the streamer.

Haha not tried the one lap pit stop myself yet. Was the hard tyres getting quicker as the fuel burned off? I found with mediums that I wasted 2 out the 5 laps. The out lap until I found the grip and then the last lap as I found they were quite worn. Might run a practice lobby to test the mediums and my pace

Ya, I think you're right. Fifteen attempts later and it's starting to come back. It's the little things like the angle the car is in before going full throttle and such.

I will say that after long sessions, getting up and taking a ten minute break often precedes my PR so, like, shouldn't six weeks make me an alien? If only...

*Edit - I'm sure age has a lot to do with it, too. Even when playing snooker, it takes me at least an hour to warm up.

So this week unsurprisingly Race B seems to be my thing, one of my fav tracks in my fav group. I've done a fair few today, don't think I've won any but I've always finished top 5 even when i tried the CLK and the 08 models. Drove the NSX most of the time as it's amazing through the corners especially the last sector........Almost in the 1.28's (set a 1.29.0) so that's my aim for this week.

Man I cannot stop racing Race B.

I was never really familiar with Fuji before this week so took it as an excuse to learn it, and man what a fun track. Racing here is phenomenal, the driving experience is phenomenal - just overall amazing fun.

Knocked my quali time down from the 1:30s to 1:29.0 with certain potential to drop into the 28s. Found a taking to the NSX in the race too, it loses a tenth or two on the straight to the GTR but man that thing has such grip, it sticks to the ground through corners with gorilla grip, I love it.

Glad you're enjoying Fuji, i think its the most amazing track in the game ESPECIALLY in GR2, and without much tyre wear the NSX is amazing. Which is why I chose it for the race as most the time gained/lost happens in that last sector, where it just smokes any other car.

Race C though, I thought I'd have a more competitive TT time but I'm miles off people of similar DR rating. So apologies I'm probably gonna give it a miss unless i can get into the low 1.17's.......i
I and I think many others love this combo. I really wish GT7 could sort of be an official/unofficial Super GT game. A separate category outside of Gr2 or something. I wonder how many fans it has brought to the real life series.

Two more races at Lago Maggiore this evening and it was some of the best racing I've had in a while. Both races were like yesterday's, hard fought and respectful. There were some elbows out racing, but I think that was from how close the racing was.

Race 1 has me P9 to start. I forgot to change to the hard tyres so I had to remember to pit early. I got forced off track exiting the esses on the first lap and got a 1.5 second penalty for hitting the wall. The heck was that for? Nothing happens beyond that little incident. Just some nice racing and I come home in P8.

Race 2 was mainly the same lobby as last time, but I'm P11 on the grid. Most everyone was on the hard Tyre at the start and we were all in a long nose to tail line. We all were making moves and keeping it clean. I made a dumb attempt at a pass exiting the esses and went on a wild ride and lost the 3 spots I gained and back to P11. I thought I had room but I didn't. I then had a nice battle with P9 the rest of the race after pit stops cycle. I could not get by them in anyway. Fantastic driving by them. We pass a driver who spins out and I start to lose ground in the last 2 laps and finish P9. P8 thanked me for the race. I tried to reply, but they left the room.

I think I need to get my qualifying time better so I'm up towards the front to avoid the respectful chaos in the back. It was still fun mixing it up in the mid pack though. I just hope the clean racing can continue tomorrow.

Just to satisfy my own ego/curiosity but does anyone struggle with GR2 cars ? I'd like to think there is a knack to driving them.

Would it be wrong to assume that GR3 cars are the hardest to drive ?

What car did you drive for TT and what car for race ?

I agree with the whole Super GT thing. Absolutely fell in love with it (and JGTC) because of GT so it would be awesome to see them lean into representing the series a lot more.

Bought a motorsport.tv sub just to catch up with it, it's so fun to watch - the cars are gorgeous and sound amazing, and my god do I want that new Supra ingame! It just feels right to have a modern day GT500 Supra return to build on the legacy of the Castrol one..

I wrote off the NSX Gr2 back in GT Sport because of the one time I struggled with it. But due to what you said, I'm willing to give it a try tomorrow. You say it's good in a race but how was it in qualifying?

I'll buy it tomorrow and will sue you for credits if I still have a hard time.

@Devdude this is the clip. Looks like the exact same issue

Sheesh, so its all over the place in gt7, and its always the cars in or around bottom split

You don't have to buy it if you are doing daily races, you can just rent it when you are entering a race or just doing tt. I'd still just use the GTR for quali its defo the faster car, but as i said in races i've personally found the NSX to be better.

I used the Mustang for the TT and race. I'm only rank B/S so I'm not the best driver in the world, and my qualifying time with it is a 1:18.8XX. I think it's a fun car to drive in over the past few weeks of daily races.

Well this is my first attempt at using gr2 cars and I’m pretty slow. I can’t get into the 28s, which is definitely where I should be looking at my friends list. I don’t feel comfortable at all. It’s also my first attempt at Fuji in anger so could be the track.

Yeah ,Fuji aint easy with fast cars , you got to have exact braking points and turns in order to get ahead

I love the GT500 cars but for whatever reason in Fuji i struggle with the last S turns , dunno why

Yeah the key to winning races and mastering tracks is to know how to brake, handle corners, and finding high exit speeds. Also pay attention to Youtube videos where people have broken records on certain tracks/areas.
