Trouble with willow and any track with no run off is that even if racing is pretty clean the pinball physics can kill you. One little nudge and you’re one pixel into the sand and race over. DT gardens could be a bit lairy as well if the Alfa is the go to car

I'll never use the Alfa again in a daily race, even if it's hyper-uber-meta, because this car might spoil my personality. 😆
Hopefully the G70 is competitive around there. I get along with it quite well.

Did you put the restriction and weight to BoP levels? Because I think the Alfa gets quite a knock from it.

It finally happened. It should have happened several weeks ago, and on quite a few occasions, but I finally got my first win!!! Mad props to the gentleman in P2. I bumped him off track lap 2 (gave him back the position, of course) and we had a great race. He went deep at Dunlop twice which I'm sure gave me the win.

Now that I'm not snake bitten anymore, I hope for many more to come.

Love the Gr.2's at Fuji (or the Super GT's which it's supposed to be anyway) glad to have some time to spend with it this weekend, even if currently there's A and A+ drivers in the lobbies as well.

About a tenth between my times in each car, GT-R a tiny bit faster for me but in B lobbies you can go for any I feel like.

the game is definitely getting dirtier, sadly. Usually Saturday morning into afternoon sessions are pretty solid racing and friendly vibes but man, just getting slammed all over the place really takes the motivation away to play.

Are the Wreckfest servers down?

Yeah, seems dirtier to me. Had one nations race yesterday. Only 11 of 16 finished. Had pole and the guy battling with me always tried to shove me out from the inside line and did little breakchecks on the straight. Luckily he made a mistake and i even stabilized him as he was not aware of me and tried to cross me where my front was. I could have ended him there but he seemed to have worse tires at the last 4 laps. :-)

I found race b quite dirty this week, and race c weren’t too bad. Race B I’ve not had one decent result and this is a combo I liked too.
In the Nations last night I don’t why but I was expecting a dirty race but it wasn’t anything like that. Had a really good clean race. Hoping today in the manufacture it’s clean too.

I’ve mostly abandoned the dirty dailies now. The cup races are far cleaner, maybe people taking them more seriously with the points on the line. Just doing them and TTs.

I mean, I am glad we're seeing some different tracks but Williow can just get burried under the sand for all I care. I hate that track and with it so easy to push people off... well, just glad I have a #2 account.
Having done thousands laps at Big Willow, with lots of success the best advice I can give is that every turn has way more camber at the inside than even the center of the track. Don't try to start wide and cut down to hit apex. Your car just may slide wide and not make it to the inside. Your best bet is to start about mid track and get low quickly. Those who don't figure it out, usually hate the track.

Start at the back with your alt account, and observe. You'll normally gain a lot of positions just by staying on the asphalt.
I like that it doesn't need track limit penalties. Cutting corners won't help you. The Mojave Desert is the enforcer.

It seems to me that PD is doing things all backwards if they want to “balance” the cars. BoP isn’t working as it should, so there’s always a meta in every race. And it’s pretty clear just by looking at the lack of comments in this thread lately that people are getting bored with the dailies. All the races have become some version of a no-strategy sprint. So here’s my proposal:

Daily A should be a tuning road car race, but based on HP and weight like the last couple of weeks.

B should be a sprint, just like most weeks. Hit or miss in these, but it will matter less if there are other good options.

C should be a heavy-duty strategy race. 15 laps with x10 (or more) on BOTH tires AND fuel. It seems like the only way to balance out cars to avoid a meta is to give the lighter more fuel efficient cars a fighting chance when tire wear is heavy and you need more than one pit in a race.

D once the Cup races are over there should be a no DR/SR random race ( @Nebuc72 maybe a shuffle race, am I right?) just for novelty to keep people interested.

I know we can’t really support four races, but when all the other things are over it seems that having four distinct races rather than two or three of the same vague ilk would keep participation up.

Just a hunch on my part after some observations.

This would just make the Slophy the meta for every group 4 Race C.

The issue isn’t just tyres and fuel, it’s that the lack of variety in races means problems with BoP are magnified.

The Sprint should also change every 2/3 days, there's no need for this to last a full week. And yes I'd agree a shuffle race is sorely needed.

My heart flutters just thinking about it...

I do genuinely think adding aa 4th race would help numbers rather than hinder them. I'm of the belief (from what I've seen) that numbers are low because the races don't interest people, not because nobody is racing as a whole.

Provide good races, and provide quick races (I said earlier, but if this "Quick Race" option was separate in the menus and queued people up for a random race that popped every 10 minutes or so) and I don't think the inclusion of that 4th race will do anything but bring more people into the online racing scene. Race A was supposed to do that with the no SR/DR, but I think it clearly had the opposite impact and so their approach certainly needs to be re-evaluated.

Fair enough, but just doing more of the same isn’t solving the problem. Their BoP updates only seem to widen the gap.

These things need to be in the works now for implementation either in the august or September updates, I do think it's that urgent that changes are made to get people engaged again. Next weeks races do not scream come play to me.

Absolutely. I think they need to actually race test their combos and set multipliers which make several different cars and strategies viable. I can’t remember the last time I genuinely had a choice to make between a no stop in a slower car and a one stop in a faster car.

This is exactly it. I forgot to add that part. The multipliers should reflect each track specifically so that more cars can be competitive. They should even adjust the pit time to incentivize one stops, and things like that.

I honestly wish there were races that required more than two pits because of fuel consumption. If you had to choose among several pit strategies and fuel mixes and tire changes, that opens up a whole lot of options. It may even effectively level the BoP if there are many ways to do a race. Everyone’s in the GT-R? Ok, but fuel mix 1, 3, or 6? Two stops at 6, or three stops at 3, or maybe four stops at 1? How often do you change tires? Hard or mediums? I’d hope that this many choices and approaches will make the specific car less important.

I'm done with this week and maybe I need a break from the game. 9/10 races this week I've been punted to the shadow realm or dive bombed from China. Enough is enough. Sorry for the rage post. Hope you guys are having a more profitable week.

Edit: low B/S lobbies

There's more than a few people on here where you are mate, I've given it a real go today and while the Manu race was fine in terms of racing, I've managed 1 clean race in the daillies. I just had a Race C starting 8th thinking okay I could get a result here, got punted off into the last turn and hit the wall - front and rear damage and engine because why not. Decided just to pit and go with hards from there and managed to pull back to 8th again to finish, and I think that'll be my middle finger up to the game for the night.

I really think PD should bring back a much stricter penalty system. I don't care if it's too much or get's it wrong sometimes.

Because: New GT7 Sports mode players learn that there are close to none consequences in racing dirty. That's really bad for our future fellow drivers. That's a horrible idea.

they should, but then people complain that there are solutions to dirty driving, but not one wants to do them.

Did a B this morning. Started in P4 and was P2 by lap two due to fighting and spinning between P2 and P3. P1 was much faster than me and for all intents and purposes was gone. By lap six he had ~5.5" lead as I was fending off P3. Making my way through the last sector and coming through the last turn and I see yellow flags. The leader had gone wide through the last turn of the last lap and spun. Easy pass for the win. Hate to see it. :)

Something special about running P2 and seeing that yellow flag come out.

Not had much luck tonight on Race C.
2 race both starting in P9 & P7 and both finishing P10
Race 1 I was running in a comfortable 6th, passed a few cars and then lap 8 I went and lost it and spun as I went wide on the exit of the S’s. Chasing the car ahead but was making too many small errors. P10 finish.
Race 2 the Porsche behind me was on mediums and first they try and do on T2 is stick a nose on my rear and try and spin me round, was able to save the spin and carry on only losing that one place. After a few ahead pitted or crashed out, so was P5 but my pace was awful. Been doing low 1.20’s on the hards but today 1.21’s. This then dropped me to cars behind which all thought it was ok to just basically bump and bash to pass. Was bloody crazy. Found a little bit of pace on the mediums and was now catching the early pitters and L15 I was half a second off P8 & P7 and then once again the top of the S’s I went and spun. P10 again.

Calling it quits for the daily races. Race B & Race C should have fun, but too many idiots now just bashing there way through the grid.

Next week daily races……… not really that keen on these. Not a huge fan of Willow Springs and any small mistake there it’s game over. Dragon Tail Reverse? Never done this layout out but cant see it been much fun again with hard tyres x1 & GTRs bombing around the track

I'm one race away from going back to DR A. I'm not sure I want to go there but I know I likely won't partake next week because it seems boring.

So I want to do a few today but I can't help but feel that Saturdays are especially dirty. Am I right about this or am I just being paranoid?

Edit* - turns out I'm the dirty one. I keep divebombing into turn one. This hadn't happened at all earlier this week but it keeps happening today. Early brakers, maybe, but I realize it's entirely my fault.
